I had an amazing experience at Saraya Salon Blow Dry Bar & Updo! The hairstylist (Sam) was incredibly talented and kind. He took his time, ensuring I was completely satisfied with my style. His patience and attention to detail were impressive. Truly the best hairstylist I’ve been to! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for top-notch service

Choose this place last min for a holiday haircut. Sufian was v nice and helpful explaining why he recommended the style/cuts he did. I liked how he explained the process and was very pleasant and nice to talk to in general

I was just passing by with my mother, and decided to come in as a walk in. She got her usual haircut bob. And I got a curled wolf cut look! (Hair color wasn’t done by them, as I did this myself at home before… when I split dyed my hair half red half black with box dye in January. The red faded to a ginger. Apparently it works though with the hairstyle, lol!) 🐺💇🏻‍♀️ I love my new hair look! Super friendly service too. They have earned themself new customers that will be regulars.

In Chicago on business and took a risk at this salon! Jad was SO kind, quick, and efficient. I’m on tour and have been cutting my hair myself! He turned my self-cut into a lighter, cuter, and cleaner version of itself. Wish I could have stayed to do color. Will come back again next time I’m in the city. 10/10 rating!

Omar is an incredible stylist! Called for a last minute updo for same day wedding as a guest. Told him I just needed a simple French chignon. I was elated when I saw the finished style. Everyone complemented me on my hair. He was so creative and professional. The staff are very welcoming too. Prompt response when calling and very efficient. Thank you for making me feel and look so special.

Visiting Chicago for a few days and decided to book a wash and blowout. Omar did an incredible job. I am delighted. One of the best blowouts I have ever gotten. I have thick curly hair so it can be challenging to get it nice and sleek. Delighted. Would highly recommend Omar.

A very mixed review here - New to the city, and have been without a cut for over 6 months due to the move and my new job. I also have a lot of anxiety over finding a new salon when I move (we move frequently for my work). I was blessed with some extra time on Sunday, and set out to seek a place who could squeeze me in with short notice. I came across Saraya via Google search, and found good enough reviews so gave it a shot. Pro: They have a very easy online booking system and had an opening within an hour of my finding them. Very convenient! Pro: I arrived a little early and the front desk woman was very kind and even said they’d be able to start early which was extremely nice - I was perfectly fine waiting if necessary, as I was the one that showed up early for the appointment. Con: I was scheduled with Sam, who seemed perturbed that I had an appointment and that I showed up early. I said several times that he could take his time, I was in no rush, but he still seemed a bit annoyed that I was even there. Pro: Great wash! I love a good, scrubby wash and that’s exactly what I got! Pro: Sam was very knowledgeable in what type of cut would look good, and took what I wanted and tailored it to what would fit my face type. Con: No heat protector was used on my hair, and he used extremely high heat to dry it. My scalp felt beat up afterwards. I was burned by how hot it was on the brush on my ear, and he simply said “I need it this hot to hold the style”. It was the most aggressive blowout I’ve ever gotten. He was very rough with the brush, and the lack of heat protectant left my hair extremely broken and damaged at the crown. It was standing straight up. Did I have heat damage before this appointment? Absolutely. Did I have more afterwards? Also absolutely. I had to sleep with a mask on last night to try to combat the damage. Cut is great and they were very accommodating, but if you have heat sensitive hair, please make sure you advocate for yourself and ask for heat protectant.

I just had my hair done at Saraya Salon, and it was a fantastic experience✨ Sam and his assistant were super friendly and took great care of me. I went for a Keratin treatment, which was my choice from the start, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Sam was really attentive and made sure everything was just right. I still cannot believe that I could have a silky hair like this!!! The treatment was quick, and Sam even offered a free trim for my next visit. I’m definitely coming back. Thanks, Sam!

Sam CRUSHED it! My hair was brassy and neglected and he really went above and beyond. I’m a blonde so I’m particular and he helped me figure out what works and it’s beautiful AND healthy! Also for the blowout - Kevin did an amazing job!! Thank you!

I get so scared to change my hair and this experience literally changed everything. Sam was very thorough and communicative, I felt very listened to about what I wanted, and we worked to find the best style for my hair, face, and tone. I finally got the shaggy look I've wanted that I haven't been able to achieve in the past! The layers I got suit my face SO well and I am so pleased with the result!!! My hair was a year+ overgrown and now it honestly looks even better than I imagined it would. Thank you Saraya!

I had a hair disaster when I came in. Another salon turned my ash / platinum hair to orange with three different toners. Sam was amazing - and got my hair back to looking fabulous and not like the Joker. I was super impressed with him and the steps he took to reverse my nightmare hair. Great salon.

Love Sam as he's been my only hair stylist in 9 years. I had to check out his newest location in River North. It's in a great location and a cute saloon.
