Sarah was incredible. My first visit there she could tell I hadn’t had a hair cut in 2-3 months without me saying anything. I showed her a photo reference for hair I wanted and she asked me a bunch of questions then took initiative to give me a cut that would suit my style. Her professionalism was impressive. I will definitely be back and send my wife and friends. Not to mention the price was very fair.

Sara has been cutting my hair since 2018. I sit down in her chair, and she asks me what I want done. I tell her I want to look handsome. I don't trust anyone to cut my hair but her. In the past I have had bad experiences with other stylists and barbers. Her fee is extremely reasonable and I highly recommend Scissors sound hair salon to anybody who NEEDS a SALON that will make you feel secure in your style transformation. #❤️Sound Scissors Hair Salon

- Dirty brushes, stations, no advanced sanitation between clients - Little attention to face framing, opposite of what was asked during consultation - Rugged old hair straightener on recently washed hair without heat protection products. I insisted twice that I can hear my hair popping and the steam was coming. I could smell my burnt hair while she was persuading me that everything is fine. - During consultation Sarah was mildly annoyed at my questions because “it takes less time to cut my hair than to answer them” - Result: very affordable haircut (even for long hair) you get what you pay - Reference, before and after pictures attached

I got balayage and paid $340. When I requested for a quote before I got my hair done, she told me it will cost about $220-250. I paid $340 which is $90-120 more expensive. When I requested for the quote, I even sent her my current hair style. She bleached without telling me. After bleaching and toning my hair, my hair didn’t even had even color. Bottom to mid section is close to white and mid to top is yellow. No gradation. Isn’t balayage supposed to have clean gradation? not like yellow and straight to white? I showed her what hairstyle I want. The result looks so different and I just wasted my money. I don’t think I will ever go there to get my hair done again. DISAPPOINTMENT.

As it's a Korean hair salon, I really wanted to try and show my support. You can check my review section; I typically leave positive reviews because I like to support small businesses. However, my recent experience was quite disappointing, and I won't be returning. The hairstylist wasn't a bad person, but she kept complaining about how thick my hair is. I mean, it's not my fault, right? If she didn't want to provide the service, she could have simply declined instead of doing it and complaining. If she expected to be paid, she shouldn't have constantly complained and sighed loudly. She also made some offensive comments to my partner. Overall, it was a rude and unpleasant experience. While the prices were somewhat affordable, the results were unsatisfactory. She even criticized my previous hairstylist for doing a poor job perming my hair. lol It was just a negative experience all around. I really wanted to support this place, but I have no tolerance for a business owner who is both rude and whiny. I won't be returning, and I strongly advise others to steer clear if they care about their hair. RUN

Good, affordable (around $35 for just the cut), and fast haircut from Jade. I've gotten haircuts that were on par or worse in Austin for double or triple the cost. Will be back!

I called and reserved for me and my 3 friends but when we got there they said I only reserved for one person. Then they started talking about us in Korean saying how we were indecisive on whether we wanted a cut or not because 2 of my friends left as we thought it would inconvenience them since they were only prepared for one customer. After I went to get my haircut and spoke to the worker in Korean, she told me that they “assumed” we were all Chinese. After I started speaking Korean, they suddenly started apologizing and being nice. The haircut itself was also mediocre and not worth 30 dollars for a mens cut.

I so appreciate Mijung’s Korean energy therapy conducted at Scissor’s Sound Hair Salon. My ankle and knee and hip pain is so reduced after receiving her 4 hour bundle package! She is amazing and so kind. If you ever need treatment for pain from an injury, Be sure to see her for superb treatment. Her understanding of muscle electrical rejuvenation is phenomenal! 5 stars! I visited there recently to have my teenage son's haircut. This was the first time we visited a Korean hair salon here. We reserved with a hairstylist Jade and she hit the nail on the head! Plus, we loved the result which was more than we expected! My son was greatly happy needless to say me and my wife. He told me he would get a haircut from Jade from now on. We will definitely visit again.
