Emma is kind, passionate and patient. She cares about her patients and is wonderful with her hands. My time with her was relaxing and healing. Thank you!

Emma is an expert at prenatal massage, and the best massage therapist I have found in Seattle! She is very knowledgeable and helps relieve all pregnancy pain (especially in the 3rd trimester). Cannot recommend her more.

Emma is fantastic at healing, and knows what she’s doing. I felt safe and secure the whole time. Her style and consistency of pressure was fantastic in all the spots I needed in my second trimester. Good location, and will recommend others to get the word out!

My massage with Emma was perfect - left feeling deeply relaxed, and excited to work with her again.

I saw Emma during my 39th week of pregnancy. It was wonderful to get some much needed attention to my achy muscles and be comfortable on the table while doing so due to the excellent side lying pillow set up! I immediately shared her info with a few pregnant girlfriends encouraging them to get a massage!

I am so grateful for Emma and Seattle Pregnancy Massage. I scheduled an appointment in hopes it would help with some hip/SI pain that was flaring up late in my second pregnancy. Emma took care of that and so much more. My first birth was a tough experience. My kiddo was asynclitic and ultimately couldn’t descend. I ended up in a c section after 46 hours of labor. Emma noticed my pelvis was flared on one side, likely from that first birth experience 3 years prior, and helped bring it back in alignment. Her treatment was relaxing but intentional - working to create space and gently encourage my second baby to get into an optimal position for birth. I left that massage feeling better than I had in years. And after 2 appointments with Emma, I went on to have the birth I hoped for - a very quick VBAC. I genuinely believe my successful VBAC was in part due to Emma’s care, helping to get my body and baby aligned and ready for labor. My only complaint is she books out very far in advance, so don’t wait to schedule and watch for emails about cancellations to get in sooner.

Emma is an outstanding prenatal massage therapist who truly understands the pregnant body. Her expertise in addressing pregnancy-related discomforts is remarkable. I experienced relief from headaches, leg cramps, pelvic floor issues, round ligament pain, and excruciating hip pain through her skilled techniques. I went to several studios before finding Seattle Pregnancy Massage and no one knew more about pregnancy or made me more comfortable than Emma. She has specialty pillows just for pregnancy and they make all the difference. Emma creates a calming atmosphere and listens attentively to tailor each session to individual needs. Highly recommended for any expectant mother seeking effective and nurturing care during pregnancy.

Emma is phenomenal at what she does. She was able to quickly identify what was creating my shoulder tension and remedy it. I wish I had found her during my pregnancy but grateful to have found her in postpartum.

I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon Emma and Seattle Pregnancy Massage. I've been going regularly throughout pregnancy and it helps me stay relaxed and grounded. The side pillow set up she uses feels incredibly supportive and soothing. I kind of wish non pregnancy massages used the same set up! I highly recommend you book with her.

Emma was wonderful! At 38 weeks pregnant, the aches and pains finally caught up to me, but I had always heard that pregnancy massages in general were not very restorative and was hesitant to book. I found Emma on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. This turned out to be hands down one of the best massages I've ever had! Emma was polite, professional, and clearly loves what she does. I felt comfortable the entire time, and left feeling relaxed, replenished and ready to tackle these last couple of weeks. I hope to see her again postpartum!

Emma is absolutely amazing! She honestly has a gift. I came to her after having my son- my body was not feeling great. After 3 massage sessions I feel so much better! She has helped me tremendously and recommended books and tools to help me going forward. I highly recommend her!

Emma is an absolute godsend! This is the Jedi you’ve been looking for. She helped me through a very uncomfortable pregnancy resulting from loose joints and frequent pain from pelvic dysfunction. I had a few other prenatal massages in the Seattle area but no one else compares. Her custom table setup allows you to actually really completely relax and her knowledge extends far beyond massage and body mechanics (breastfeeding, newborn care, etc). She even put me back together (adjusted the tilt of one side of my pelvis) a few days after baby was born. If you’re thinking about booking, just do it, yesterday! Pro tip: insurance often pays for some or all of the cost of “medically indicated therapies”, including massage and chiropractic. My OB didn’t even blink when I asked for a referral letter. When I moved here I left the best ever massage therapist whom I had been seeing regularly for years. When I found out I was pregnant I had real motivation to find someone new. I genuinely did not think I was going to find anyone who could stack up, but Emma hit that ball out of the park and into the outer atmosphere. Thank you so much for all you do.

Emma is fantastic! I highly recommend seeing her to get ready for birth and nurture your body during pregnancy. I always left my appointments with her feeling well cared for, empowered in my body, and more confident.

Emma offers the perfect combo of deep relaxation and targeted healing that I need throughout this pregnancy. After my first session I am hooked!

Emma’s massages were one of my favorite parts of being pregnant! The setup she has for the table is the most comfortable I could imagine being while pregnant, and her massage is the perfect mix of relaxing and effective for comfort after the massage. She is also a wealth of knowledge regarding pregnancy and birth, and she always remembers everything I’ve told her and checks in on how things are going. I just booked a postnatal massage and can’t wait to be back.

One of my favorite parts about the third trimester was undoubtedly my prenatal massages with Emma. They were the highlight of my week. Emma did such a good job - she knew exactly where I was tight and needed the massage. I am confident that my third trimester would have been full of a lot more back pain had it not been for these massages. I appreciated how Emma went above and beyond. She took the time before each session to hear what was bothering me so she could tailor the massage. She gave me tips on how my husband can also support me through massages at home. I could tell how knowledgeable she was with the way she answered my questions. It felt like she cared about me as a person. I will definitely go back to Emma again if I can for any future pregnancies! Worth every penny :)

This postpartum massage was immediately impactful addressing issues and discomfort that I had accepted as normal after having a baby and all the awkward bending and holding that comes with it. Emma explained why certain things could be causing discomfort when I asked, and educated me on how to avoid where possible. What a wonderful and warm experience- it’s clear she’s an expert in this space!

Working with Emma really showed me the value of seeing a prenatal expert, rather than a more general masseuse. I came in with what I thought was a tight back and Emma realized was actually coming from trigger points in my ribs because of where the baby was sitting. She even taught me how my husband could help massage them at home.

Amazing experience. Emma is so talented and her massages are such a treat when you're running after an energetic toddler all day. Highly recommended!!

Emma has the magic touch. I’ve had three massages with her over the course of my two pregnancies and they’ve all been absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!

Emma is a masseuse goddess! I went to multiple places during my pregnancy trying to find anyone who could help relieve my aches and pains from pregnancy- Emma is hands down the best. I live in west Seattle and will drive the 40+ minutes to get to Ballard just to see her! Since having my baby I’ve gone for a postpartum massage and it was just as amazing as her prenatal massages! I HIGHLY recommend Emma and Seattle Pregnancy Massage!!

Emma is brilliant! Wish I had found her before. She did a wonderful job with a prenatal massage and helped me relax my tight muscles from an injury. She knows where to focus exactly as if she can see where I am in pain. Definitely coming back!

I had a wonderful experience with Emma- I would highly recommend her prenatal massage services to all of my pregnant friends!

I had never had a massage before, but my husband gifted me one for my last week of pregnancy. I was quite nervous as I'm not a big fan of physical touch. The massage from Emma was lovely. It was perfectly relaxing and helped me feel so comfortable, even at 39 weeks. The pillows alone she uses to allow you to lay on your side allowed me to be more comfortable laying down than I had been in months. Emma was kind and had such a calming presence. The COVID precautions she has taken made me feel protected, which was so important to me as I'm about to welcome a new little one into my home. Overall, my expectations were beyond exceeded and I only wish I had begun sooner in my pregnancy so I could have gone more!

This is my second visit to see Emma at Seattle Pregnancy Massage, and both sessions have been fantastic. I couldn't recommend her more for a pre natal massage!!

Wow! Thank you Emma for what was probably the best massage of my life!

Excellent prenatal massage, went to see several practitioners in Seattle and Emma's massage was the best by far. Very relaxing, she exactly knew where to press harder and where more gentle. You won't regret booking the session with her!

I got a massage as a birthday gift from my friend! I gave birth just a few days after receiving the gift voucher so waited until about 2 months postpartum to get the massage and it was wonderful and much needed! Would recommend!

TLDR: I highly recommend Emma for both her massage and doula services. She is extremely good at what she does - knowledgeable, professional, kind and creates a safe space for pregnant people and their families. Hiring her as a doula was the best decision we made! Massage: I started seeing her for pregnancy related pain in my third trimester and it was truly a game changer for my mobility in those last few months. I had seen a couple of other prenatal massage therapists and Emma was by far the best, both in terms of body work and also the environment. The massage bed she uses is incredibly comfortable for side lying massage with pillows specifically designed to support alignment and comfort while on the table (other places I went just used regular pillows and Emma’s setup made a big difference for comfort). She is also very cautious and considerate about implementing COVID safety protocols and is vaccinated, which I really appreciated as a pregnant person at higher risk. She is deeply knowledgeable about the pregnant body and seeing her helped me be as mobile and pain-free as possible leading up to delivery. She books up quickly so I would recommend booking multiple appointments out early! I didn’t do this and was kicking myself for a few weeks :) Although she was awesome and was able to get me in last minute a few times off her cancellation list. Her prices are extremely reasonable for the market and she provided me with invoices that I was able to submit to my insurance company for reimbursement. I have been seeing her for postpartum massage since delivery and she is so considerate about different needs for the post partum body (back/shoulder mobility from nursing and lifting, positioning on the table to accommodate recovery, etc). As a doula client, I also receive a discount on prenatal and postpartum massages. Doula services: My husband and I were so grateful to have Emma as our birth doula! We felt so well supported from the moment we signed up with her. She is deeply familiar with labor and delivery practices across Seattle hospitals/birth centers and was able to prepare us for what to expect and how L&D were being managed during COVID. We had two virtual meetings prior to delivery (I think these are usually done in person but we did virtually because of the pandemic): the first to talk through our birth preferences, plan and learn about the process and discuss ways that we feel supported; the second was a postpartum/newborn preparation session. Both were incredibly helpful and gave us a safe space to ask all of the questions (big and small) that we had going into delivery and postpartum as first time parents. She linked us to great evidence-based resources, suggested different ways to prepare for birth (eg, spinning babies), helped us think through our birth plan (and then prioritize when labor went in a completely different direction), and identify questions to ask our OB before, during and after labor. During labor, she struck the right balance of providing physical/emotional support and giving space when needed. When we got to critical decision points, she helped us feel empowered to ask questions, request time for decision making and think through our next steps. She captured incredible photos during our unexpected c-section and supported us both through that experience by telling us what to expect from start to finish and being there for us (holding my hand while husband went with baby and supporting me emotionally). Postpartum, she checked in regularly to answer questions, see how we were doing as a family and connect us to resources. We are so grateful to Emma for her support and cannot recommend her highly enough!!!!

I cannot share enough level of feedback that speaks to the incredible job Emma, at Seattle Pregnancy Massage, does as a professional. I received a gift certificate from a family member while I was entering my second trimester of my first pregnancy for a massage and after my first visit, I became a loyal client. I am so appreciative of being under the care of someone with so much knowledge and expertise, for the incredible work she does to help with the inevitable body discomfort on the body, during and after pregnancy. Each time I go for a massage I leave so relieved and feeling totally restored. Not enough stars to rate this incredible place. Super happy I found it!

I have been a client of Emma's for about 4 months as I have been seeing her for massages and reflexology to support my pregnancy. I see her about every 3 weeks to help make sure I feel as good as possible as I get further along in my pregnancy. Her massages are great and I always feel so good at the end of our appointments. She is super professional and takes the current pandemic and safety protocols very seriously. I would highly recommend seeing her to help you feel your best during pregnancy and I plan to see her postpartum as well.

Let me start by saying that this review is not commentary on Emma’s proficiency and skill as it comes to body work — based on the rave reviews and the fact that she came highly recommended to me by a friend in the field strongly indicates, to me, that her work is excellent, and I do not wish to speak negatively on that. Secondly, I am hoping that my experience was, perhaps, an anomaly, but it’s been sitting with me and I feel the need to share because the experience has impacted me (in a sensitive, uncomfortable time at that). This is more related to customer service as opposed to anything else. I booked an appointment mid-December and the earliest appointments available were about four weeks out, so I picked a time that seemed kismet— the day before my baby shower; I had entered my third trimester and it has been a painful experience full of bodily discomfort; I figured “a massage right before my baby shower, while far out, sounds like glorious timing to unwind and settle back into how wonderful this experience is.” I planned time off, ended up having a horrid week (adding that just for context), and had strongly looked forward to the session, more and more as the day was closing in. It was cancelled via text/email the morning of for a reasonable circumstance. I was told I needed to reschedule but was not told what that process looked like. I emailed her that evening asking for information on next steps. I received no answer. I tried again four days later and the next evening after that, decided to message the business via Facebook. I shortly received an email with a message that ‘thanked me for my patience’ but was thoughtful written... there was a link attached to reschedule and I was honestly shocked to find that instead of there being a process to prioritize a cancelled appointment, I had to start from scratch at choosing an appointment time, with the next availability being two weeks out (that’s three weeks after my original appt and seven weeks after I booked/pre-paid). On top of that? There was a possibility, she revealed, that the next appointment could be cancelled too (due to duties that are justifiable and I DID/do value her transparency in this regard). I’ve already been living with pain, I’m sure that’s extremely relatable to many prenatal massage clients, but I felt like this was an inequitable process for rescheduling and have been incredibly disappointed with the way this turned out. I WAS offered and promptly given a refund upon request. I was also given recommendations but the ones I could see pricing for? Not as financially feasible for me as her prices. For the others? One was just a name/number and the remaining, I couldn’t find pricing for — I have anxiety and having to ask about prices and/or cold call a stranger is a process I am not keen to participate in, especially in a state where I already feel more stressed on top of continuing to be in growing discomfort. I did appreciate her attempts to direct me to other services and when I engaged with her, she was absolutely pleasant, transparent, and attentive, which is why I gave three stars. I am absolutely certain that this would be a five star review if things went a little differently. If anything, a goal here is to note that a cancelled appointment may not be promptly rescheduled and it appears that you will not be prioritized if cancelled on.

We met Emma via the Swedish Hospital Doula Program and what an incredible find she was! We wanted to bring our first child into the world with as few interventions and medications as possible and heard that using a doula was the way to go. We cannot recommend Emma more highly! She has a warm, open personality and our family immediately connected with her and felt extremely comfortable in her presence. Her support before, during, and after the birth of our son was everything we had hoped it would be. It was very comforting knowing that there was someone other than my husband and me to communicate our desires with the hospital staff. Her work as a pregnancy massage therapist was also a wonderful addition and support, especially in the later days of the pregnancy. We have already recommended Emma to friends and will definitely use her again! Emma is worth every penny and then some!
