The two stars are STRICTLY for the masseuses. I booked the birthday package for my mom and she said her facial & massage was phenomenal!!! But unfortunately also had an encounter with the rude woman at the front desk. Her attitude has been mentioned in many other reviews so she’s doing damage to her own business. My mother was offered a drink, she gave her order then the owner came back empty handed. When my mom inquired about her drink - the woman said “oh it’s actually $10” implying that that’d be an issue. Her experience seemed to be full of micro aggressions - no one wants a relaxing experience to begin with someone who has lackluster customer service skills. ALSO! My appointment time from the emails didn’t match up with the appointment time over the phone. I didn’t get a response until 9pm that night after trying to get in touch with the team for hours… With the stress of setting up that appointment alone - I felt like I needed a massage. My mom enjoyed herself but after hearing her experience with someone who wasn’t even conducting the services - she won’t be back.

We came with a group of 5 for a birthday celebration and everything was incredible. I don't know how they worked it out but all of us were able to have massages, facials, and hot tub soaks and still visit with each other a bit. Every person in our group raved about their massages and facials. The grouds were gorgeous even in the winter. Truly a secrect retreat. We can't wait to come back!

My partner booked us a couples massage for my birthday. We were a couple minutes late because of highway construction, but they were understanding. The location is a bit rough around the edges outside just because of the time of year and where it’s located, but that’s okay. I think a more calm, quaint area would be better for this spa to match its energy inside. I had a very beautiful woman of color, I cannot remember her name, and my partner had a very kind older gentleman. It was our first massage ever and a very pleasant experience. Very personable, homie, smelt like floral incense which I personally enjoyed, cucumber water afterwards. I hope we can make it back soon to continue supporting small business.

Wow!! Just had a fabulous massage by India. I left feeling totally relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d call this a hidden gem. The spa has a really cool vibe behind the “secret wall/fence”. I also enjoyed soaking in the hot tub in the garden. Great way to celebrate the afternoon of my birthday!

Amazing experience. It was my first ever massage! India was so kind and thoughtful, and made sure I felt comfortable. The place was beautiful and enchanting. I truly wish I could spend all day there. They have the ability to book tea parties you can host can you imagine?? Things are reasonably priced, and while I was a bit embarrassed to not know how tipping worked in the industry, the staff were so kind in educating me. The massage room was dimly lit, great calming music, and very atmospheric in general. The gardens in the back were beautiful.

I am a neighbor and had heard wonderful things about this place. Recently, I opened a massage practice in the area so this morning in between clients I decided to take a walk. Well on my walk I noticed that this place had the gate open, so I walked in and was taking in the awesome scene. My intention was to next step inside to connect with the team, but before that I was shooed away by the owner professing it to be private property. As a black woman who not only supports this community in many ways through my company’s holistic health offerings, but also encourages clients to check out other spaces who have different offerings, this is not an energy that I wanted to be met with. I can’t assume that there wasn’t implicit racial bias that created this experience, because if I were being treated as a human or potential client, the owner would have responded to me in that manner. Needless to say I will not be able to refer anyone from my community or clientele to the Secret Garden. And I damn sure will not be back to invest in a neighborhood business. Do better.

Made an appointment for five for facials and the hot tub to celebrate my 40th birthday. Walked in and was told we didn’t have an appointment. The lady at the front desk told me if services are not paid in full in advance they don’t book anything. It was not explained to me that’s how it worked and it didn’t say anything to that effect on the invoice. Will never try to come here again.

Natasha was amazing. The best massage by far. You may question where you are at when you arrive to location. It’s called a “secret” garden so a reason. Give them a chance won’t be sorry.

The owner needs an attitude check and if she can’t manage that, she should consider staying behind the scenes and not interacting with the customers. I have been here four other times and had great experiences with the three different masseuses I had. Secret Garden has a website to book appointments, which I love because I absolutely hate when businesses do not offer online booking. The other day I was using their website to book and whenever I got to the page before I enter the payment information, it rerouted me back to the home page. I refreshed, tried on my desktop and my phone, tried with and without WiFi on my phone, and it just kept doing the same thing. Please trust when I say I tried everything in order to avoid making a phone call, I really tried everything. I finally called, no answer (it was lunch time so nbd), so I decided to wait and try the website again. Several hours later, it still didn’t work so I called again. The owner answered and told me I need to book online so I told her about the difficulties I was having. It took a while to tell her everything because she interrupted so much. She kept insisting the website should work. She then says, “Well can you just text this number, I’m actually in the middle of something.” I text her and apologize for interrupting and told her the date, time, and treatment I would like. I don't get a response so I just assumed the message didn’t go through. The owner calls me the next day and we have a similar conversation to the previous day. She sounded very annoyed with me the whole time. I don’t remember what I said but she actually scoffed out loud at one point. I have definitely been in situations where things in my personal life have made me lash out so I am empathetic to the fact that she might have been dealing with something as well, but it was just surprising that she was so rude two days in a row. I’m not expecting anything out of the business from this post, and after reading the owner’s responses to other reviews it seems she lacks accountability anyway. I would just like to warn everyone to avoid talking to her, all other employees have been wonderful. I certainly hope the owner does not treat her employees this way, because without them making up for her unapproachable behavior, her business would be in shambles.

Took my team here for a spa day and loved it! Every staff member we encountered was great, professional, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We had a blast! Everything from the vintage decor, art work and more was a vibe! They were very accommodating. 24 hours later, I still feel great! They are a hidden gem in STL!

I booked the romantic couples massage for my fiance and I and when I tell you we have not stopped talking about it since! I have had massages before (so I thought) and this was my fiancés first time. Taylor and Shanta were our massage therapists and we could not have been paired with better people. They made our time together so special and I have never seen my fiance so relaxed. We both can’t wait to go back!

I did not expect the utter attention and focus here. Not to mention the best and most attentive deep tissue massage ever this old front lady has ever received thanks to India, and the most gentle cheek tapping and overall soothing during a facial thanks to Sarah. The ability of this place to give individual attention is bar none, and I’m so grateful!

We did the Romantic Couples Massage Package with a 30-minute hot tub add-on. Best massages we've ever had, hot tub was clean and relaxing, the massage therapists were friendly and professional. Exactly what we wanted.

I got a massage and facial as a birthday gift, and I’m honestly telling you it was probably the best massage I’ve ever had. Ashley was great at communicating exactly what I needed and setting expectations, and definitely found spots that I didn’t even know had knots. I want to go back soon!

I would plan a return trip to St. Louis just to visit the Secret Garden again! India’s work is therapeutic and intuitive. The studio is unique and sooo charming! Loved the hot tub soak at the end of my service.

My experience was amazing here. I love how aesthetic the place is all around. I got the chance to enjoy the hot tub for an hour with my sister and we were delighted to have the cucumber water in the champagne glasses. We had such a nice time enjoying the scenery and everything was so peaceful and lovely there.

My partner and I splurged on the Romantic Couple's Massage package and it was lovely. The space is beautifully and intentionally decorated, the staff welcoming and kind, and my only regret is not also booking a soak in the hot tub!

I booked the Birthday Package for a friend's 32nd birthday. It was easy to schedule online and I was able to prepay for it. The staff were communicative. My friends review was "you could have rolled me in a blanket and put me in bed, I was so relaxed". Highly recommend!

We booked an Ultimate massage experience, the masseuses’ were very skilled, and left us feeling relaxed. The hydro-jelly face mask had our skin feeling flawless! After the massage we showered and went out to the hot tub, we were told to use our wet towels from the shower to dry off. I suggest bringing water and towels with you.

The place is cute, the garden area is nice. My wife wanted to surprise me for our anniversary and booked a romantic combination package that was suppose to be a 90min massage, facial, hot wax, scrub, 30 min hot tub soak all of the things. She also added the romance package that was supposed to have rose petals laid out and a rose to keep a drink and some chocolate. I was going to let it go because every one has a bad day every once in a while but when my wife finally told me she spent over $400 on this experience…. it just was not worth it. First we come in take our shoes off sit down fill out the questionnaire where you circled spots to focus on and we were asked a drink preference. Seemed to be going great. Then we over hear two employees loudly arguing and fighting about being booked back to back. Talk about awkward… we brushed it off whatever co-workers butt heads sometimes it’s fine. We were asked if we brought shower shoes and robes? Seemed strange but we only had swimsuits with us to change in to for the hot tub. We go in to the room and there are some fake petals on the ground music nice smells silk sheets it’s looking super cute. The rose that was for me was pretty sad a maroon-ish wilted rose. At the time I didn’t know these little things were an added extra cost, again this whole thing was a surprise for me. We get situated and they come in and put the gel facial mask on, that was great, felt amazing. The scrubs and wax were nice. My wife’s massage had already started before the masks were being applied and mine didn’t start until a few minutes after. My wife’s massage was great she said she loved it. Mine however…. I wasn’t told to turn on to my stomach until maybe 15 mins before it was over. 2/3 of the areas I circled were barely touched. I even asked if she would focus on the right hip area like she did the left while I was on my back because she spent more time on one side and hardly any on the other. I was really looking forward to my lower back being worked on but I’m not exaggerating when I say she touched my lower back for maybe 2 minutes IF that. Also I could hear my wife getting a hot stone treatment and I wasn’t. I thought maybe she picked a different package for us each or something but that wasn’t the case. I found out later that I should have gotten that too. We mentioned it as we were paying and was met with “oh hot stones aren’t a big deal to us sorry, I’ll refund you $10” we also had to ask about the chocolate which we got on the way out. (Would have been nice durring the hot tub time maybe?) Also I’ve never had a massage where I wasn’t offered a water. The hot tub was nice however I’m not sure I understand the order of which they do things in. Like why get this treatment with lotions oils and wax’s and then go get in a chemical filled hot tub? Idk that part might just be me. They also had us shower after the treatments before the hot tub which is understandable you don’t want those things in the hot tub… there was also a hair treatment/scalp massage, it was nice I could have personally lived with or with out the treatment. But we had to use the same towels to dry off after the shower and out at the hot tub. Then was stoped at the door with “leave your shower shoes out side and make sure your dry before entering” it wasn’t particularly warm outside and our towels were damp from the shower. Anyway when we did express some disappointment about the stones and mediocre massage we were told the person in charge of doing my services was having a bad day and was dealing with some things a death in the family... And look, I truly get that we’ve all been there, and I feel bad she’s going through that but a customers experience shouldn’t suffer when they are paying these kinds of prices. Maybe she should have been excused from work that day and someone else step in. I don’t know but I’m sorry I wouldn’t come back here.

Marianne is incredible! After a long flight I booked an appointment and it did not disappoint. She worked through knots, eased my tired, swollen legs, and I left feeling so relaxed. Definitely booking again the next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience, will definitely be back. Massage was fantastic, I like deep tissue with lots of pressure and Jean Luc did an amazing job. All the staff were kind and welcoming, the atmosphere was unique and relaxing, very clean. Hot tub spa experience was lovely too.

This place is absolutely amazing! On my first visit, I was offered water in a floral teacup with a crunchy minty seed that had come FROM THEIR GARDEN which I think sums up the vibe of this place! Very cute and relaxing. I've received a massage from Debbie that was so relaxing I felt like I was melting into the table after it was over. I also got a massage from Leah which was the BEST massage I've ever had for my knots. I still think about that massage! I visit St Louis only occasionally but I plan to see Leah every time I do. Also all of the massage therapists here I've talked to (and I talk A LOT) have been so friendly, welcoming, and open to conversation! Great vibes, great people, and great massages :)

This place truly is a secret. You walk up the pathway, and open the door and you're transported to a place of serenity. You walk in and take off your shoes. Then you are escorted to your room. The couples massage was booked and the room had a nice quaint, serene ambiance. We were asked if we needed to use the restroom, or if we wanted to have something to drink. The bathroom is attached to our room. Charlene is heaven sent. She has the magical hands. Jean-Luke did a fantastic job. He knew the parts to hit. The steamed towels were amazing. Will definitely be back, sometime in the spring to enjoy the scenery. Thanks for making our first time memorable.
