I had an amazing experience at Sexy in a Second with Elecia as my hairstylist. She even fit me in for an after-hours appointment, which was a lifesaver, and took the time to chat on the phone beforehand—reviewing my hair photos and making sure we were on the same page. From start to finish, I felt completely taken care of. The salon is conveniently located and has a great vibe, and I was so impressed with the hair products she used that I ended up buying them for my daily routine. When a few items weren’t available in-store, Elecia went the extra mile by mailing them to my house, much to my family’s delight. I only wish I lived closer so I could drop by more often, but I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for the top-notch service, Elecia!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Elicia did an amazing job with my hair! I had never had a sew in before, she was very patient with me and knowledgeable about the whole process. Everything from the hair to buy, down to braiding, maintenance, etc. She is also very committed to her craft, she showed up despite having car issues AND took extra time to style my hair instead of rushing me out. That's service! 👏🏽 I'm so honored that I booked Elicia for my 1st appointment, it certainly will not be my last! If you're unsure of who to book with for your next service, look no further. :)

I booked an appointment for 10am on 12/31/24. I paid $50 deposit fee. At 12/30/24 at 8pm I was told my appointment would need to be changed to 1pm. I arrived at 12:55 and Elecia was not there. I waited until 1:24 and texted her. To which she called me at 1:30 stating it was her mistake she thought the appointment was at 2 and she would be there by 2. I waited until 2:20 and she was still a no show. To which I texted asking for a refund. She told me her booking fee was non refundable. Which is understandable if there was an emergency on her end but she said she was in her pajamas and was getting her lashes done. It is completely unprofessional and unacceptable to have a client wait this long and still feel entitled to the deposit fee. If I was late my appointment would’ve been canceled and I would’ve been charged. But because she is late she gets to keep my money? That is so disappointing and especially on New Years Eve.

Elecia was very professional and cared to teach me small tips and tricks to maintain the style and also made me feel as though she cares about me keeping my hair healthy. Sitting in the salon and listening to R&B music while getting your hair done just feels so nostalgic! I definitely will be back!

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair done in a traditional sew-in style, and let me tell you. The braiding pattern Elecia used was tight, and neat, ensuring that my sew-in will last for weeks without any discomfort. What truly stood out to me was her genuine care and attentiveness throughout the entire process. Not only did she listen to my desired look, but she also provided valuable consultation on how to maintain the health of my hair her advice and personalized recommendations made me feel like I was in the best hands possible. She made sure to address all my questions promptly, and made sure that I felt comfortable and prepared for the session. Despite my THICK hair and the intricate nature of the braid base to my sew-in, she remained efficient without compromising the quality of her work. I could tell that she valued my time. I must say , it was the first time I visited this salon service was exceptional, I felt comfortable, professional service and great hair tips . I walked in with my hair in a mess but left looking like a queen . I received a protein treatment and a protective hairstyle I know I will be returning soon because I have gotten something that other salons couldn't provide, that's professional hair care tips that generally most hair salons require payment for. Just like the sign said sexy in a second !!!

After months and months up on looking for a professional hairdresser I finally found the spot thank you Elecia. Your awesome. I love that the atmosphere. They all made me feel comfortable . I it was a little on the nervous side because I do have natural short hair and a lot of people don't want to mess with natural hair. everyone was very friendly and talking to one another. 🥰

Elecia said she would be 10/15 minutes late but ended up being 30 minutes late. When she put me under the dryer she left and had to go get net for my sew and the dryer stopped and still no Elecia, Then she left again went across the street to get water in the middle of braiding my hair. Then she changed the price saying what was on style seat was not the right price even though I booked the right service. On top of all of that was on the phone the entire time, and was telling someone if a client is 30 minutes they have to pay another deposit, Then wanted me to cash app her the remainder and wanted me to pay the cash app convenience fee.

Elecia was awesome. She did my hair justice. It's so soft bouncy and feels amazing. The environment was comfortable and relaxing. The area is great. Parking can be confusing but I'm horrible with direction so blame me for that lol. Elecia was so knowledgeable about my hair and hair in general. Not just knowing what to use on clients but explaining what each item does for my hair. She was thorough in her explanation of how to maintain my hair as well from how to straighten my edges to demonstrating how to wrap my hair overnight. I completely recommend her if you're going for a silk press. I personally will be returning and hope to make this my permanent home for my hair care. The only thing I'd say, which wasn't a problem for me, just a note to help her with future clients. When they book tell them to detangle their hair. She detangled my hair for me no charge. Also discuss payment again when they sit in the chair. I didn't realize their was a fee for clipped ends (my fault for not checking prices not hers). I did ask for that service in my notes but I didn't know there was a fee. Also we talked about how long it takes me to do my own hair. It wasn't till the tail end of her doing my hair that she told me I would be charge a fee for going over my time. she did explain to me that usually she can get people hair done in the time frame that is on her site but when people have longer hair or thicker hair it may take longer and there's a fee for that. That's something that should be added to her website as a disclaimer or even when you sit down in her chair, let the client know "if we happen to go over you'll be charged this fee and for this amount." Not that much of an issue because she just used my deposit so no sweat off my back. But for other people if they were to come with what they expected to be a certain amount and the price changed it might become problematic. So that's just a note for her to discuss payments immediately when they sit down in your chair just to get final clarification.

Faith was awesome! I came to visit St. Louis for a family reunion and decided to get a cut fixed on my natural hair. Not only did she recut my hair and make it look amazing she was also very helpful and knowledgeable. She offered tips and feedback regarding my hair condition and ways to improve it. I got my hair straightened and curled that day but even in it’s natural state after washing it, it still looks nice. Thanks faith!!

I cannot relate to the negative reviews at all. Elecia was amazing and extremely accommodating with my four year old getting her first silk press and cut today. We also got a deep conditioning treatment and Elecia was very knowledgeable and recommended products for our natural hair journey. My daughter loved her hair in the end! Definitely 10/10 for us and we will be returning in three months for her next cut!

I will return & stick with her as my stylist not only because my hair looked great but because she cares about her work & products & was very informative on what she was doing & her plans for the longevity of my hair! This was my first time being styled by Elicia and I was not disappointed! Got the silk press, protein treatment, and a trim (that I desperately needed). Elicia answered all of my questions and was very knowledgable when talking about my hair. She let me know everything she was doing every step of the way and the rationale behind it. An added bonus was she was very gentle and my head did not hurt while being combed! Overall, very satisfied with my hair and how healthy it looked afterwards.
