I have been to Able several times - he is such a great guy!! He does a wonderful job on my hair! I have had keratin treatments, cuts, root color…His serious & professional attitude to his work is exemplary. I come 1-1/2 hours to see him each visit. I wouldn’t do that if I didn’t consider him great! I look forward to many more visits with him!

I got a blowout with Ashley and loved her work and the atmosphere of the whole salon. It was very relaxing and friendly environment.

I got a fabulous cut from Taylor! I went in unsure of what I wanted and was a bit all over the place but she was very patient, asked questions, listened and then gave me her input. She checked in several times during the process with questions about length of bangs and styling. She has a calm demeanor which I appreciated but is also friendly and open. I left with a great cut and style ready for the weekend! I will definitely be back to Shag Salon for a cut with Taylor 😊

This review is very delayed, but I went here in 2020. I had a lot of hair going in and had a specific vision for the cut. Going from long hair to short is scary but u would trust this salon time and time again. Their customer service was immaculate. Professionalism, a dream. Aesthetic… the cutest. I’ve been unsuccessfully trying to find someone I trust with a cut that drastic ever since.

Tierney has been cutting my hair for years now and she’s the absolute best. I have curly/wavy hair (2c - 3a) and she knows exactly how to handle it. I’ve been through multiple hairstyles with her and no one is better, I swear!

It’s scary going to a new hair stylist but Nancy did not disappoint. She did an awesome layer cut on my long hair. It’s rare to like a hair cut the first day after but I absolutely loved mine. I already scheduled my balayage with her next! She is really kind and listens to what her clients want. I highly recommend.

Curly girlies know it’s hard to find a good stylist. Taylor is the only one who has ever made me feel like a million bucks—twice now (and I’ve visited a LOT of salons in several cities). She is friendly and strikes the perfect balance between doing what you ask and what is best/healthiest for your hair. Overall, prices are reasonable and transparent, everyone is kind, and it’s easy to book online. Parking situation is not ideal, so I always book for 10am when they first open.

Abel Reyes!!! I've been seeing him for a year and a half and won't be switching stylists until he retires or moves out of the city. With over 17 years of experience (and a growing list of certs + qualifications), he has NEVER done me wrong. I'll let the blend pictured below speak for itself; but he slays the cut, color, and blowout every single time (and does hair extensions too!).

Beau and Abel are awesome hair stylists. They've both cut my hair on different occasions. I loved my cut both times. I showed them a picture of the style that I liked and they cut my hair nicely. They have kind personalities and are fun to talk to. I recommend both. The salon is well-appointed. The staff is polite. Everyone is professional but casual. They use Oribe hair products which smell terrific. The shampoo with massage is wonderful. Their styles did all the "heavy lifting." I use a blow dryer, small round brush and a little product for 5 minutes and I'm on my way!

Beau, Michael, and the team were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable with having my hair cut for the first time in 3.5 years. Beau cut my hair and really listened to what I wanted my hair to look like. Couldn’t be happier with the result.

Gabby is fantastic, the first time I have ever left a salon 100% happy with the results. She was very sweet and knowledgeable, she gave me great tips and recommendations. I will definitely be back and recommend them to others.

I can't remmeber the last time I wrote a review...YEARS! Kelly Gans made such an impression, I can't not write one. I'm always nervous going to the salon but she put me right at ease by explaining what we would be doing. I could tell she was going to take her time and really LOOK at my hair and do what she thought would be best for it's health and improvement. We looked at pictures to see what I liked. I had a few picked out but I have very fine, thin hair, so I wasn't really sure how short I wanted to go. She showed me various colors and suggested why she thought certain colors would look good. She then explained she would cut some hair (wet), then dry it, then cut more based on how it looked dry (or something like that). Basically, she took her time and didn't just cut, cut, cut...dry...done. I walked in hating my lifeless, dull, post prego crazy hair. Walked out and could't wait to play with it when I got home. Thanks Kelly! Already booked my next appointment

I took my bf to get his hair done here because he was in dire need of a cut and I wanted to make him feel better by treating him to a haircut. I saw nothing but great reviews for this place and expected him to get a great cut here. Unfortunately they took way too much off and deviated from what he originally wanted (a longer curtains hair cut). Although I understand that his hair was damaged but we've gone to other salons that managed to work with it. For the amount that I paid I expected better work. I want to add that the staff was very friendly, he just didn't receive the haircut that he wanted 😔

Love it, love it, love it here! Ladies with short hair: this is your place to go! I'm visiting from out of town and was desperate for a cut. I'm always travelling, so it's usually a miss more than a hit when it comes to blind gambling on someone who says they can cut short hair. (Yay hats). I actually just spotted this place driving by in the night to a BBQ place for dinner and took a mental note and called the next morning. I asked if they had anyone who specializes in women's short hair and I was referred to Kelly, who is a master stylist. They were up front about the price, and I booked it. Sadly she fell ill (hope she's better now!) and I was recommended to go with Beau next. I wasn't going to say no because I really was desperate. SO glad I went! What a wonderful person and amazing stylist! I told him what I was looking for, but gave him free reign to just make it sexy, fun, and flattering. He nailed it. And he's so much fun to talk to! I might have to consider swinging by Austin more often just to get my hair cut here again. I'd like to maybe book with Kelly next though, because she seemed super cool over the phone. Thank you Shag Salon for a great experience!

Wow…. Just wow Abel is truly a master at his craft. I walked into this salon on a last minute appointment with a blotched highlight job (second photo) and a heavy heart. By the end of my appointment I was in a fantastic mood and had a color I couldn’t even imagine possible from what I walked in with (first photo). I can’t put into words how fantastic my hair looks and I’m so glad to have found a main stylist in Austin.

I saw Flor(Flower). This is was my first time here, and I had heard so many good things from a few patients (I work for Little House Dentistry) that I have talked too. I had a previous stylist, that up and left, and so trying to find a stylist was hard. So, I decided to take the advise, and book. Once I got there, the environment was great. Real quite, and peaceful. I was offered a beverage, and I can tell you, I was welcomed. Once, I got in the chair. Flor was able to ask so many questions, to help me figure out what I want. I can tell you, I didn't have a game plan when I went in. But finalizing, what I wanted, she was able to make my hair feel new again, while laughing at my stories, and relating to me. (Something I can say my last hairstylist didn't do). I can say after that appointment, I FOUND MY NEW HAIRSTYLIST. I will be returning.
