I just moved to New York City, and I found the best place to cut my hair, a place that gives you incredible treatment, you feel comfortable and at home, I really liked it, before my haircut they shampooed my hair and That was a plus, and then yossi cut my hair, he is incredible, he gave me recommendations on what haircut I could use and was always attentive to the details, the haircut stayed with me. incredible and of course I will keep coming back to shaggy hair studio

I’ve been going to Yossi for years, and I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my hair! Not only does he have an incredible eye for color (he works wonders with my "turning gray" brown hair every time), but his haircuts are always current and on-trend. Yossi knows exactly how to give me a look that feels fresh and stylish. What makes this salon even more special is that my 10-year-old son also gets his hair cut here. They are fantastic with kids and always makes the experience comfortable for him. My son actually looks forward to his haircuts, which says a lot! The salon itself is clean, modern, and stylish! If you’re looking for someone who knows hair inside and out, Shaggy Hair Studio is your go-to salon! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier, personalized salon experience!

I saw great reviews for this place and I really wanted to find a master who understands how to adapt a haircut to your specific head shape. I described things that I didn't want, and I ended up with all of them. Maybe I just got unlucky, but this is the worst haircut I ever got. We tried saving it but it was getting worse.

I highly recommend Shaggy Hair Studio. Yossi is consistently fantastic at coloring my blonde hair. I originally became a client of Yossi several years ago, then I moved to a neighborhood far from the UES and had my hair treated elsewhere, but I ended up coming back to Yossi at Shaggy Hair Studio. No other hair care professional compares to him. My hair looks healthier and more beautiful than ever before, and I'm extremely happy with my decision to have my hair cared for by Yossi.

I have been going to Yossi for years for both my haircut and highlights but have been reluctant to post a favorable review. More customers means a longer wait time for an appointment, lol. Seriously, he and his staff are all amazing. They are like family.

staff was very nice and the haircut was good but they told me they’d charge me $60 only and i ended up having to pay $130… i don’t have the budget to be paying that much for a haircut

Yossi did such a beautiful job with my color! He is so talented, and beyond that incredibly attentive and caring to make sure I was 100% happy. I won’t trust anyone else with my hair, and I am so glad I found him. The whole salon has a great energy too! Thank you Yossi!

Randomly walked past the place. You never know on the UES what something will cost. Turned out to be $60 for a men's cut, lightning fast, quality work, fairly priced, great shampoo, great experience. I hate going to new stylists. You can trust them.

Oren and Youssi have been quietly executing high style, precision cuts for more than 15 years for East Side women in-the-know that rival the marquee named stylists. When $500 haircuts that looked smashing when I walked out of the salon and "smashed" the next day and disillusion and price pushed me out of the groupie to celebrity hairstylist mode--I discovered Shaggy, the reviews resonated and the price was right. Not only was Oren's cut as memorable as the one's Bruno Pittini who revolutionized hairstyling in the ninties gave and I never forgot as I trailed his apprentices to their high-voltage expensive salons, never realizing I was not going to be a celebrity influencer or media client just a high paying one --The mark of the perfect cut, compliments on how good my hair looks, even a month later. And a cut I can manage by myself--and even as it grows out--it looks great. Shaggy hits all my marks--cut, easy to care for, and price. Oren and Youssi and the staff are about their clients--we're all celebrities to them!

The salon looks unassuming from the outside, but I got the best cut of my life there yesterday! Oscar took really put a lot of thought and time into the cut, and I love how it turned out. I will be back for my next cut :)

Highly recommend!!! Everyone at Shaggy hair studio is lovely, welcoming and so friendly!! Oren is a master with cuts!! Super Super talented. He did my haircut after years of not finding a hair stylist I could trust completely!! He designed my hair expertly and artfully, totally genius, I Couldn’t be more satisfied. This salon is iconic and worth much more than five stars! Totally recommend!!

I have been a devoted client of Yossi for 22 years. He is an artist in the way he approaches cutting and styling hair. Yossi's haircuts consistently bring out the best in my appearance. In addition to being an outstanding stylist, Yossi is terrific at all aspects of color. I've been doing highlights to conceal my greying hair and Yossi's approach has been fantastic. The highlights mimic my natural hair color without making my color look artificial. In addition to his talents as a haircutter, stylist and colorist, Yossi is a wonderful, caring and kind person, and is great with kids and teenagers. The entire staff at Shaggy Hair Studio is terrific. If you are looking for a new salon, give Shaggy Hair Studio a try!

I started going to Shaggy five years ago upon a friend's recommendation, and have been seeing Yossi for cut and highlights. The salon is great, and Yossi is the BEST! I find his cut to be very chic and sophisticated, and I constantly get compliments. Both men and women take notice, and most are strangers on the street. Likewise for the color. He's created a beautiful, sexy warm-tone caramel color with subdued highlights.His thin highlights were placed carefully on the layers to accent the cut. Shaggy Hair Studio is warm, friendly and clean, appointments run on-time, but because the location is not convenient for me, I've tried other salons from time to time. NO ONE has been able to reproduce Yossi's cut. His ability to layer hair and work with clients' facial structure to enhance one's looks are what sets him apart from others. I am an artist myself, and see the incredible skill and talent he has. With only one head of hair, it remains my GO TO salon! Update-Having left the Salon during Covid, I only recently returned after 3 years. I tried many other salons, and never received a compliment for my haircut in those years. Yet just upon returning home after my visit, I was stopped immediately in my doorway and complimented to my surprise!

I've lived on the Upper East Side for twenty years and it wasn't until I found Shaggy that I had a regular hair spot. The stylists here are talented, friendly and accommodating. I've been seeing Oren for about 5 years and I love coming in for a great cut and catch up. In the past, at other salons, I've felt pressure to buy products or get treatments that I didn't need an couldn't afford. Oren never tries to upsell me, he understands my low-maintenance routine and busy schedule and cuts my hair accordingly, giving me cuts that will grow in nicely if I can't make it back for six months or so. I can't say enough about this place, go check them out for yourself!

Oren is one of the best stylists in NYC! He’s the only person I trust to bleach, dye, and cut my hair. The salon is a bit high energy, but you can tell that everyone is making magic happen. 10/10

Shaggy Hair Studio is the best! I am one of those people who does not get my hair cut often enough, and the team never makes me feel bad when I come in looking ratty lol. The vibe is super chill and fun, and I always leave with a fresh new look. Oren is wonderful - he is a super skilled stylist and so great to talk to as well. Prices are super reasonable especially for NYC and the superior experience! Thank you Shaggy!!

The salon staff is terrific! Oren is so talented DOES THE BEST HAIRCUT IN NYC!! He doing an amazing job with every haircut, all with a lot of patience and being approachable! I'm one of those people that doesn't allow just anyone to touch my hair, I’d never trust anyone else but him. Oren earned my respect and appreciation for his professionalism, talent and honesty!! This is the only place I will go to get my haircut, they do a great job every time! I’ve gone to Yossi twice and Oren once and both of them were fantastic. Everyone there is also very nice and hospitable - I highly recommend going here!!!

This was my first real haircut in three years, so I was quite nervous but saw all the good reviews and decided to try it out. I haven't been this happy with a haircut in a long time! Oscar asked me what I had in mind and then delivered better than I could have hoped for! After cutting off a good 6" or so, I'm finally enjoying wearing my hair down and my curls are so happy to be free again. Getting a haircut that boosts your confidence and style is invaluable, but I'm glad it was very reasonably priced. I cannot recommend Shaggy enough! P.S. these photos were taken the day after and without any cream.

Unfortunately I came here thinking they can do a single process for my dark brown hair but when I got home I noticed it was actually black! Also, some of my whites weren't fully covered and I plucked them out. Not sure if it's because due to carelessness or that I am not a regular here but I definately will never be back.

Yossi is great! Thoughtful and careful. He spends time with his clients and takes the time to make adjustments. No rush, great style. He is an absolute professional and caters to you 100%. His color correction was totally amazing and I had a great time too. Luma is an amazing and very caring person who is part of his team. Trust him with your head!
