I love Gospel and Shear Joy. I had ruined my hair during Covid by trying to color it myself and had a ton of breakage. Gospel brought it back to life! Highly recommend.

Wow we drove 2 hours for a very disrespectful and rude person to talk down to us. My wife couldn’t even get to her to appointment because the stylist wouldn’t stop talking over her. I finally had enough and told her we need to leave. Please listen to your customer, not just tell them what you want. You also wanted us to pay 400 dollars for thin short hair to perm. You also said no one ever ask for the price you just tell them after your work and you don’t guarantee your work. That sounds like madness to me. Well sadly to say we drove 2 hours for disappointment. Please do some self reflection and change your methods.

I am visiting for a month for work and could no longer stand how scraggly my hair was feeling so I went out on a limb and gave Shear Joy a try and Gospel did not disappoint! She definitely got me looking crisp and clean but she also had me laughing the whole time to the point my cheeks were hurting! Tell you what, if you need some magic done to your hair and a good laugh at the same time, come here! Thank you, Gospel! If I ever need a cut again when I’m down here in NC I will definitely be coming back to you!

It looks like mine review had been deleted. Long story short I called to find out what a cut and color would be. Speaking to the stylist on the phone she had a argumentative disrespectful attitude I chose not to go with the salon and gave a review to let other know customers of my experience. When the review was seen this lady called me five times yelling telling me I had no right to put a review on her website it was to the point where I had to block this lady from calling. The response to the review only showed how immature argumentative and what I was just simply standing in my review. I am putting another review on simply because it looks like mine has been deleted and I think other potential customers should be forewarned. Just for the record I was never told by the stylist the cost of a cut and color I'm assuming if I remember correctly it is 140 something for color and 60 for cut and style so I'm assuming we're looking at somewhere around $200 plus dollars. Though this was never made clear to me even though that was my question when I called to the salon in the first place. The stylist would not give me the pricing so there was no bargaining no trying to get discounts I was simply trying to find how much the services would cost. The stylist attacked my character. Please go back and look her previous negative reviews and her responses. This will give you an idea as to the character of this person. I went to a salon today and had a great job done. And there was no issue with the price or money it was a matter of getting a good job done. By a professional.

Gospel is an amazing stylist! My best friend and I went in for desperately needed haircuts while she was visiting me from Miami. She never wants to go anywhere else! I ended up going back for an olaplex treatment as my ends were dead from a long ago attempt at becoming blonde. Gospel brought life back to my hair without having to chop it all off and the balayage look to blend my current hair to the harsher blonde ends came out amazing. She truly knows hair and clearly loves what she does.. Thank you Gospel!

Gospel really knows what she's doing! She also cuts your hair according to your texture. I have very thick curly hair and she uses a technique ideal for my texture. Most places just use the same technique that they use on straight hair which makes it lay wrong. Also the way she washes my hair is a stress reliever.

Gospel took my drab quarantine hair and made it look healthy again. She was very thorough with recommendations about how to keep my hair at its healthiest (while not pushing any particular products) and assisting me towards moving back to my natural color.

I have gone to Gospel several times, and I will start this review by saying she can do color. She did my hair beautiful shades of red and I will not take that away from her. I went recently to get a haircut. My hair was longer, about 3 inches below my shoulders. I asked her to trim the dead ends and that I wanted long layers and face frame. Look at the picture to see what I got. Her website states that women's haircuts start at $45. She charged me $60, that's completely understandable because I did have longer hair. However, when I got home and looked at my bank statement I noticed she did not apply the $15 deposit to the $60. When I texted her and asked about this she said my haircut was $75. I asked her to explain where the extra charges were coming from, that I was comfortable paying $60 for the length of my hair but no more since I did not have damaged hair or hard to work with hair. She refused to disclose the additional 66% price increase from what is stated on her website. This is the second time I've been charged more than I originally anticipated and she is not willing to clarify. I'm not hurting for the money, I just believe that that big of a price increase from the original price should be discussed beforehand.

Can’t say enough amazing things about Gospel! It was a miracle that brought me to her last August. I honestly had never had many real hair cuts aside from Great Clips because anytime I went to a real salon, I felt like they overcharged me for something that looked like what I got at Great Clips. But that all changed when I met Gospel. She gave me the BEST haircut I have ever received in my life! She listened to what I said about my hair, inspected it, and then proceeded to work magic on it. I’ve never had that many compliments on my hair ever. She is the only person I trust now! I just went back and got my second cut and she again did exactly as I’d hoped, and my husband is obsessed! You won’t be disappointed!

I saw Gospel a while back and did not enjoy the experience. She seemed angry at me and I'm not sure why. She cut my hair way shorter than I asked and seemed to fight me on everything I said. I wouldn't go back.

Okay first, let’s talk about Gospel. From the first words she spoke to me she made me feel absolutely fabulous. She is warm and inviting and so entertaining. Second, let’s talk hair. This is hands down THE best haircut I have ever had. Even better than $80+ haircuts I have had by top salons in West Hollywood. She took her time and blended it to perfection. I can flip it in any direction and it looks even. My friends are loving it and I can’t wait to try out new styles. Let’s also talk about safety. Due to covid it’s not safe to go to a lot of places, but she only lets one person in at a time and she wears a mask and her studio is very clean. On all accounts, I HIGHLY recommend letting Gospel do your hair. As she told me, she does “not play around when it comes to hair,” and it’s so true. She is the perfect balance of silly and serious. I love her and I cannot wait to go back.

After moving to the States, Gospel's salon was the first hair salon I went to because of the amazing reviews she had gotten! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she was like "say no more" and worked her magic! I absolutely love my new hair! Gospel has been rude to me on 2 different occasions. First time, I was late, and I messaged I was going to be late. She got all up in my face about making her wait. I let her color my hair. Today I booked on line and sat down in her chair for her to blast me about "you booked the wrong appointment type again. This is the third time I have told you." Just rude and condescending. I pay WAY too much to be treated severely by a hairdresser. I got up to leave. She blocked the door so I couldn't leave so she could continue to berait me! I left without having any hair service. She will never have my business again.

Gospel is awesome. She truly loves what she does and has a passion for hair. When I came in, I had a lot of breakage and split ends from botched chemical treatments and not trimming my hair for a year. She cleaned me up really nice. She also asked a lot of questions which I appreciate because she got to understand how my hair ended up the way it did and educated me on how to properly take care of my hair. You don't get a lot of that in other salons. She doesn't try to rush or cut corners. Overall great stylist!!

Gospel is the BEST. She is more than a hair stylist , but boy does she know hair! She is very informed with over 20 years experience and taught me things I didn’t know . She knows many techniques that most stylists aren’t aware of. I have a whole new routine now to help repair some of my breakage from years of coloring . She literally TRANSFORMED my hair .... it is beautiful and soft and silky after the ceramide smoothing olaplex hybrid treatment we did. My fiancé is in love with my hair and I feel so happy with my results . She is an excellent stylist and knows exactly what’s right for your hair , she’s also a great listener and has a wonderful story as well .... I’ll be back for repeat sessions . She’s amazing

I didn't even think my hair was in bad shape because I didn't know it could look this good. She got her hands on it and highlighted and cut it and now it's as pretty as it was when I was little. She picked the perfect hair color for my skin tone and made it look totally natural in the process. She's a true expert who takes her time to do an amazing job. I'm never going anywhere else again.

I found shear joy via google. I had straight medium length thick hair. I was looking for some change and told her not to do fringes or razor. I could not explain more than except showed a picture from her site, and something similar but not to reduce length, by the end she did complete justice and gave me a new look. I am extremely satisfied that without giving any specific hairstyle name, she understood what I was looking for. I am glad i took the chance to come to her saloon!

I moved to the Cary area several years ago and just couldn't seem to find a stylist. I decided to give it another shot to find someone in the area to do my hair and see how it went. I found Gospel, and man am I glad I did! She was absolutely wonderful! I felt a great connection with her, and she did an OUTSTANDING job on my hair. It was a crucial moment for me because I wanted to do something very different with my hair color, and that meant putting a lot of trust into the person doing it. My trust was well-placed with her and I've definitely found my new stylist.

Made me feel very uncomfortable. Last time I left a bad review she blasted me on here and made me scared to share my experience, but saw someone left a similar review, so now I feel that it is my right to also share my similar experience. She was rude to me, made me feel embarrassed, and even laughed at me to the point I cried during our session. She kept blocking me in while I was trying to leave, even after I paid. Since then I have never had my hair done and probably won't do it again. It was a nightmare.

Omg!! If you want a beautiful haircut and a great stylist you must go to gospel! She is wonderful! She actually tells you amd gives tips on how to keep your hair healthy and cuts it to your frame and face. I got my bangs done from her and she did a excellent job. I also got a short hair cut after i chopped off my long hair. She finished it and it turned out so wonderful! She is a must to go to! You wont regret it. Her spirit and energy is what keeps me coming back!
