A truly magical experience!! I had a vivid multicolor session done and it turned out incredibly! She talked me through the entire process and helped me pick realistic colors for my dark hair. Everything turned out stunning and vibrant. My hair also stayed soft and healthy even though we did a lift before the color. I cannot recommend Shear Sorcery enough! If you want magical hair and creative coloring definitely check her out!

Flora has cut my hair twice and has done an excellent job both times. The first time I came in I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, but she worked with me to figure out what I might like, and ended up giving me a really cute shaggy face frame cut which is now my go to. Not only does she do a great job with hair, she is a really kind person. 10/10 would recommend.

Flora is the best! A one of a kind haircut experience coupled with extremely comfortable environment! I recommend Shear Sorcery to all of my friends that are looking for the perfect stylist to consider all of their hair needs, they all have loved her equally as much. I’ll only go to Flora for my hair, she always gives me exactly what I ask for :)

I got an amazing shag mullet from Flora a few months back and it was an awesome experience. She made sure I was comfortable from the first minute. Her salon space is decorated in the cutest way and kept in the utmost professionalism plus personality! I’m obsessed with her color skills too and can’t wait to do something really fun next time. I had such a good cut that I told her she should raise her prices! You will be so glad you switched to Flora!

I have had a couple visits by this magical woman and not only does she hear my ideas, but she also helped guide me with styling tips to manage my new cut. It’s been everything I have wanted, going from really long hair to a shag and I get so many compliments! Highly recommend for the private studio experience and having a nice beverage while you get your hair done! I will never go anywhere else.

Went in requesting fantasy colors. Prior to my appointment we had a consultation and scheduled the appointment. When it came time for my appointment, the hairdresser canceled on me and told me she would reschedule me and provide me a discount. I went to my next appointment excited. Love how my hair turned out initially however, the discount was a lie and was not received. That initially was upsetting however, because the hair looked good that day, I did not bring it up. I am a non-confrontational person and did not want To cause any issues by asking about the discount. A few days later, I go to wash my hair and it is super dull! I am talking about it look like it had been six weeks already how dull it was, I reached out very friendly and asked if that’s how it was supposed to be. She went on to blame me and all of these things that she knew I had going on that week after our conversation while doing my hair. None which was the case. I had a cover over my head while I was in the sun. I did not go swimming and I use the products she recommended as well as made sure to use cold water when washing my hair. Now I’m not saying that it 100% is not my fault but I did not appreciate her putting everything on me and not even being willing to look at it or talk to me about it. OR she could have offered to refund the portion of the discount that I was originally supposed to get and never did. Even after all of this because we had discussed her taking me back blonde if the color did not work out, I reached out and asked her if she could do my hair, and there was no response. I reached out again, and no response. So then I asked her respectfully if she did not want to do my hair once again no response. Truly confused. I reached out a final time and let her know that I was confused because I did not come at her rudely any of the times I reached out, I didn’t bash her, I did not blame her and I had not put in a Google review at that time. I had given her every opportunity to even communicate with me, and could not get that from the stylist Joann. She lacks communication skills obviously. And that alone is why I would not recommend her. I would be happy to attach pictures of my hair and or screenshots of our well my conversation as I did not attack her and I was very nice to her. That just makes me realize the professionalism isn’t there either if she felt attacked in any sort of way cause it most def part of her job to hear and listen to feedback Edit: let’s just say she’s a liar too 😂 clear by her reply 😂🤮

Flora was so friendly and helpful, while helping me decide what my new hairstyle would be. She was also very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of helpful tips! I highly recommend going to visit this amazing lady for your next cut/style!

The salon is decorated perfectly, black walls and gallery wall art of cats n’ stuff….*chef’s kiss*. Bonus….feels awesome to find a stylist that fits your vibe and you can have real conversation with!

Been going to Johanne for over 2 years. Consistently a fantastic cut, which has been challenging for me in the past with my fine, blonde hair. She's great at working with me to figure out what will look the best, depending on if I'm going short, or planning to grow it out, etc. I always confidently recommend Johanne to my friends!

Before Johanne, I didn't have a go-to hair stylist and didn't have any idea where to start with fantasy hair colors. I've been going to Shear Sorcery since the end of 2021 and couldn't recommend her more! She is not only great at cuts, style, and fantasy colors, but she's also great at preparing you for what to expect when getting your hair dyed and how to maintain the color. She's even helped supply specific products to maintain the color so I've been able to go six months between color refreshes. Highly recommend!

I’ve been loyal to Johanne since she worked at Bird’s. Her skills and creativity outshine the rest! She cuts my daughter’s hair now too. We enjoy the benefits of her artistic eye and love how she listens to our needs and takes our inspirations into consideration. It’s be a joy to see Johanne follow her passion and see her dreams realized with her own studio!

Johanne is literally the best hair stylist I have ever had and I am in my seventies so have had my fair share! Not only is she adept at all things hair-related, she is also easy to talk to and kind to boot! If you want friends and strangers to stop you and say “Your hair is so beautiful!”, then you might want to pay Johanne a visit!

Johanne is the best hair stylist I have worked with, and trust me I have tried many different people! She listens to my needs, and has executed my hair color and cuts flawlessly. She took me from pink to blonde, then to a dark brown with fantasy colors in my bangs, most recently to a nice summery blonde balyage. I have very thick, curly hair and she is a master at working with my curls. She knows what she is doing, is very professional and of course sweet as can be. In my opinion, for the beautiful work she does, she could charge SO much more than she does. I have never come across another stylist (especially in Austin) who does her level of color work, especially vivids/fantasy color, and charges as little as she does. EXTREMELY reasonable pricing, especially for the time and care she puts into my hair and the attention to detail. I have never once left unsatisfied. She communicates with me, we are always on the same page about what needs to be done to my hair, and if I need anything extra she goes above and beyond. When I changed up my color idea after showing up to an appointment, she was accomodating (even when she did not have to be!) and made it happen. When we decided that we couldn’t get to the level of brown I wanted in one session, we scheduled another and I was charged accordingly. The products she uses leaves my hair feeling healthy and happy, unlike my experience at other salons. It moisturizes my curls, and gives my hair new life. Even when I go from one extreme color to the other, my hair loves what she uses! In summary, Johanne is an amazing hair stylist who I would recommend to anyone! Professional, talented, kind, and passionate about her work - a true gem. I look forward to our sessions, and spending time in her salon which is so unique and special to her. The energy is amazing, just like her work!

She really is a hair witch Johanne has been doing my hair for a year now and she is everything I ever wanted in a stylist!!! She creates an energy in her space of client centered comfort and magic, and makes getting fantasy color accessible!!! My hair is both healthy and an amazing morphing color palate

Though the stylist is nice she took five hours. She got Bleach all over my jacket because she didn't properly protect my clothes. She stated she was sorry doesn't normally do clients with such long hair. I went home after a color service and was happy but then noticed there was quite a demarcation of the Bleach where she applied it to my hair . I showed Johanna photos 2 days later and instead of offering to fix it for free,she wanted to charge me twenty for supplies.. Most stylists dont do this and offer to fix their mistakes for free.. i was only asking for the blonde to be blended out in that small section. Johanne stated the twenty was due to supply costs. I have attached photos so other customers can see what I ended up with after a four hundred color service. I elected to not have her fix my hair as I felt this was poor customer service.She uses wella products which can be purchased at Sally's beauty supply. Overall do not recommend. *edit: johanne I know you are trying to save face but you were extremely unprofessional In how you handled my valid complaint. I never said I wanted a cheaper service. In fact I showed up on time , polite and tipped. Your rates are the same as other salons that use professional level products not wella. You did bad technique with draping and hair painting. What's worse is you never even apologized for the mistake. You responding here shows your lack of professionalism. I choose not to go back to you and I have screenshots of our conversation where I fired you and produce screenshots of your deleted comments where you blame me. I hope you take this as a learning lesson and realize this is not how you build your reputation and repeat clientele.

I absolutely love my haircut! This was my first time seeing Johanne for a short cut, undercut included, and she absolutely worked her magic. My hair is fine and thin and she knew how to make my hair look good and give it volume. I have definitely found a stylist that I can trust and will keep coming back.

I absolutely love visiting shear sorcery for all my hair needs. I had been doing DIY fantasy hair color for a decade and was scared to see a professional but visiting johanne and getting to know her put me at ease and I completely trust and respect her abilities and skill. I have always disliked getting my hair cut in salons. $60+ later and my hair would usually look just a little shorter and more blunt than when I came in. So boring. When I first visited Johanne, she crafted a unique cut based on my preferences. She checked in with me periodically during the cutting process to make sure I was happy with the direction things were going, which was so appreciated. I have been back a couple more times and plan to see Johanne indefinitely! She's warm and funny, and has an adorable, welcoming suite. She is also curly hair informed, which I know a lot of people are looking for in a hairdresser. Seriously, go see Johanne!

I loved getting my hair done with Johanne! You can tell that she really cares about her clients and their hair goals. My hair felt so soft and healthy even though I got it bleached! She also gave me free essential oils which was so kind. Highly recommend Shear Sorcery!

Johanne is absolutely lovely. She is the only person I trust to care for my hair. She made my hair a beautiful rainbow. 🌈 I visit her each month to have her exclusively wash it. The color has lasted so long and is still holding strong after 4 months. My hair is so much more healthy than before I started seeing her.
