Terrible experience— went in for a simple trim and the barber took nearly 8 inches off, way more than I asked for. She also used buzzers on my long hair, and scraped the old scissors along my hair making tons of split ends. I wasn’t even allowed to sit down while getting my hair cut. By far the worst hair salon I’ve ever been to, do not go if you have long hair!!

Great barbershop. Friendly and skilled barbers and stylists. Been a regular customer for a few years since Steven fixed a bad fade I got at another shop. He fit me into his busy day and spent 20+ minutes on it, careful work, and he did a great job. He refused payment and won me as a customer (I gave him $10). I've been to most of the other shops in the neighborhood and Sheer Madness is the clear winner. Good cuts, straightforward, no fluff. People often ask where I get my cut, cuz it's always a good cut.

The owner is very nice, the establishment is clean and pleasant. The downsides are that some of the hairdressers are rude, and most importantly do not listen to what you tell them. I went in with a mid length haircut that i wanted to continue growing out, all i wanted was a trim and i was very clear but they would not listen, even after repeating multiple times. I essentially left with a buzz cut and am very displeased.

Clean, professional and actually pay attention to what you want and understand what styles suit your face. Also I like how they don’t talk your ear off, you show up for a service and they perform. If you’re the kind of guy who only gets a haircut every few months this is a great option.I paid about 50$ for a haircut and beard.

Upon walking into this barbershop I was greeted with kind greetings and smiling faces. They even wet and washed my hair before giving me the actual haircut. When I sat down I described to the haircutter what I wanted. "I really like how my hair is pretty long now and messy. Please, please keep it this way. I just want to clean up the back and sides just a little bit and add some texture. I constantly repeated that I wanted my hair to be kept long and the haircutter assured me they understood. They obviously didn't. I even showed them pictures of the style I wanted where all the men had pretty long high volume hair. As my hair was cut the haircutter told me that whoever cut my hair previously was very unproffesional and had made numerous mistakes. This ended up being very ironic. After it was finished I smiled telling them I really liked it, but if you've ever gotten a bad haircut before you know the realization doesn't hit until you walk outside. They cut my hair way too short on the side but kept the back and front of my hair uneven, giving me a mullet look. What's ironic is that my new hair also looks and feels very unproffesional. My sideburns almost had a bald spot and the top of my hair looks really weird compared to my sides which are much shorter. Also for some reason my hair is incredibly hard to style now and is always out of control. I'm still incredibly frustrated by this and I never think I can trust a normal barber again because no matter how much they say they know what you want and how to do it, they never do. But, to not be totally inhumane they were very nice and social throughout the haircut.

Sheer madness is a high-quality, fairly priced, family-run barber shop. I go to Jonny for a haircut and beard trim, and always come out very satisfied with my cut. Big up Jonny and everyone at Sheer Madness! Respect

My teenage son is going through a stage of being particular and discerning about his self care. The staff here, especially the owner, totally get it! He is treated accordingly it’s working - his haircuts are fabulous!

Saw the best review , but I got the bad experience. I had taken for over 3 month to get my hair long enough before cutting :so that, i can get the expected hair style i want , brought the photo to show and discuss with crew before cutting , but finally I got the very weired hair style. Never visit again, ( 1st photo is the photo i show to the crew and 2nd is my hair after cutting)

I take hair seriously and I have a big head of long blonde curls. But Finding a good place to get my hair cut in Brooklyn has been SUCH a challenge. It’s either a fancy salon - too expensive and difficult to get an appointment - Or it’s a barber shop and they don’t really do women’s hair. When I landed on Sheer Madness, i hit thé jack pot. You can usually walk in and get an appointment on the spot. The stylists are in total professionals - I love Maks - they work quickly and the result is always fantastic. Plus their prices are reasonable. And the owner/manager Steven is such a warm and welcoming person. SHEER MADNESS is sheer magic! 5 stars.

Lena really knows her stuff. Spent months looking for a barber who could handle my crazy combination of fringe, cowlicks and widow’s peak. She pulls off a miracle every time, and she’s a delight to chat with. You’re not going to get a cut off this quality for such a reasonable price anywhere else in Brooklyn.

Absolutely thrilled with our experience at this salon! Lena and Steven have become our go-to team for haircuts.I get my hair cut with Lena but also my 4, 8 and 19 year old go! Their patience and attention to detail, especially with our energetic kids, are unmatched. My boys have never looked better after a cut - Steven works magic with those scissors! And Lena? She's a true gem, makes a mean fade and every visit I leave looking and feeling good. I highly recommend this place!

I followed my barber Tim here. Tim recently joined Sheer Madness from another local barbershop and I didnt think twice about switching barbershops. Tim knows how to navigate my thick hair and receding hairline, he sweats the details and is very attentive, and is easily one of the most skilled and professional barbers I’ve ever met. He’s also just an all around good person that cares deeply about his clients. I always enjoy our conversations and I find my monthly visits very relaxing. The vibe at Sheer is inviting, the price is reasonable and it’s easy to book an appointment online. Can’t ask for much more than that. Tim has been my guy that I trust and I will go to him for years to come.

Holy! This guy Max can cut hair. He's new to this shop but he's skilled. Probably one of the best cuts I've gotten from them and I've been coming here for a year now. As always a clean ,no nonsense shop. I'll see you in 2 weeks max.

Amazing experience, i actually called like an hour earlier and they were able to get me seen quickly same day! Eugene was great, he gave me one of the best haircuts i’ve ever had- super cool guy and the whole store had a nice vibe to it, staff was friendly and I’m looking forward to coming back again.
