I found Sherry when I was looking for someone in my part of town with experience working with waves/curls, fine texture, and grey blending. She has all 4! I'm so glad I found her. She's an expert at her craft and a stickler for the details, taking care with every snip. She gave me the best bangs of my life! Highly recommend!

Sherry is so kind and patient! Which was super helpful since I am picky, anxious about haircuts, and have a texture and type that has been messed up often in the past. I feel so lucky to have found Sherry! I'm not a blonde or a redhead (naturally or aspirationally), but my stylist of 12+ years had moved to the east coast, and I had gone for more than a year without a haircut. After listening to me closely and carefully examining my long, brown hair (touched by a few grays, its texture affected by menopause), Sherry persistently worked her talented magic, using her scissors in ways I've never seen before, resulting in my hair having movement and volume it's never had before, however I'm wearing or styling (or not styling!) it. Within minutes of sitting down in her chair, I felt so confident in her expertise and artistry, so assured by her focused professionalism, that we decided to add a color glaze to my service--the first time since a disaster in 1989 that I've had any color treatment of my hair. I'm so grateful for her deep knowledge of hair--and all that affects--and care of mine!

I also appreciate her commitment to maintaining the health of my hair and her organization skills (she writes down my exact hair formula each time I sit in her chair). Sherry is the most skilled hair stylist & colorist I've been to in over a decade of trial & error (mostly error) at other salons. As a natural warm toned red/auburn with greys now pushing through, the standard "grey coverage" approach just didn't do me any favors. I had seen so many gorgeous color results on other ladies with similar starting points, so I knew there was better talent out there, I just had to find it! When I came across Sherry's work online and reached out for a consult, she was responsive and accommodating. From the moment I met her at my initial corrective color & cut appointment, it was evident that she was at a much higher tier of experience than I was accustomed to. She took the time to listen but most importantly, she offered professional suggestions with a creative and specialized approach that I had been missing out on with previous stylists. What I love most is her individualized perspective with each client, carefully cocktailing hair color that will produce the most flattering end result. Additionally, the haircut was phenomenal and for the first time in a long while I didn't feel like I needed curl to hide flawed cuts like I had in the past. I was so impressed with her knowledge of curly hair and the detail she shared when discussing how to properly take care of my curls. My hair is fine already. I told her what my goal was and a few months later after properly caring for hair I have new growth and my curls have never looked better! I am so thankful I found Sherry!

I've always had bad anxiety around haircuts because of several bad experiences in the past. However, Sherry is the sweetest and instantly put me at ease. She listens to what you want, your hair care routines, and then is able to give the perfect cut. Sherry is truly talented and makes me look forward to getting my hair cut. She was able to give my hair a ton of movement as well as volume, which is fabulous since my hair is naturally stick straight. Sherry's also styled my hair for a wedding before and it held up wonderfully throughout the entire night!

I’m so thankful to have found Sherry. I recently had my hair cut and colored at another salon, and had a pretty disappointing experience and wasn’t comfortable going back to the same salon to fix it. I scheduled an appointment with Sherry for a color correction and to fix my uneven haircut. She was so kind and wonderful. She communicated so clearly and was explaining what she was doing and why. She obviously cares and knows a lot about her industry. Even better, she was able to fully correct the color issues with my hair and give me exactly what I was looking for. Sherry is a very talented artist and on top of that incredibly warm and friendly! She has helped my hair get much healthier and is an expert on fine hair which is great for me. I initially went to her for blonding services, but recently decided that I wanted to take my hair back to my natural color with some subtle blonde face framing. I showed her a few photos and she executed my vision perfectly. She made sure to ask questions and keep me updated on the process along the way. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. She really knows what she is doing and you can tell how much effort she puts into making sure her clients have beautiful and healthy hair :)

Sherry is my hair fairy godmother! Seriously, my hair was in such bad shape when I moved to austin and Sherry really took the time to understand me. My hair is so healthy and smooth now. That was her #1 focus! Once I was in a healthy place she helped me go outside my comfort zone with fading highlights that are beautiful and super natural looking. Shortly after moving to Austin, I found Sherry after I googled natural red/copper colorists. As a natural redhead, my color has faded over the years. Sherry brought back such life and believable color to my hair - it looks the same color as when I was a kid! I love that she uses gentle products and describes the coloring process as well. I’ve been seeing Sherry for over a year now and every visit is spectacular. She has great ideas for subtle differences for summer, etc. She also gives great haircuts for wavy/curly hair! I have 2b-3a curl patterns throughout my hair and Sherry always is mindful of how my waves will lay as the style begins to grow out. She is definitely the best stylist I’ve ever been to!

I walked in excited to get my Invisible Bead Extensions and when I left I literally felt like a gorgeous rockstar! Let me tell you….I’m a long time client of Sherry’s so I can personally vouch for her level of talent and professionalism. I’m 50 with medium length, extremely fine hair that seemed to be getting finer each year which was not ok. I talked to sherry about IBE several months ago and finally decided to pull the trigger and invest in myself. I so wanted to have the kind of hair that was long and thigh and looked good without having to wash, blow dry, curl, tease, spread out, etc. Last Sunday was the day and let me tell you… I was anticipating something awesome and Sherry delivered! First of all she perfectly matched my color…I mean spot on. The installation of the extensions, the haircut and style was beyond what I was even hoping for. I feel so beautiful and giddy with happiness. I mean, if your hair looks good, it is such a confidence boost! I’ve only had the extensions a couple of days but I’m following her advice ( silk pillowcase, loose braid at night, hair care product recommendations, etc) and can I just say… getting out of bed at 5:15am, walking into the bathroom and seeing my thick, beautiful braids just makes me smile from ear to ear. Of course I take them out and the hair looks perfectly messy and gorgeous. I feel pretty and sexy and am sooo glad I invested in IBE done by Sherry Hamby. By the way, I drove 3 1/2 hrs to go to Sherry specifically because she is the best and so knowledgeable about all things to do with beautiful and healthy hair. I went in for a haircut and received a great education in what my scalp and hair needed. My last cut was a total botched job and once I told Sherry this she walked me through exactly how she would cut my hair and consistently checked in on how I liked it. She gave me advice on what to think about when doing my hair and which products to avoid. Sherry did an excellent job on my balayage for my upcoming wedding! She knew I was nervous about letting another colorist touch my hair but she communicated with me throughout the whole process and I was left with an effortless end results. Sherry was highly recommended to me, and she did not disappoint! I have extremely fine hair with no volume, so I always opt for layers. Usually my hair ends up looking stringy, but Sherry actually managed to create the illusion of body and fullness. She also gave me helpful advice on how to care for my hair and product recommendations that actually work. I can’t recommend enough!!
