A haircut is a haircut. RIGHT? WRONG! By my estimate, I've had my hair cut over 400 times. I've spent as little as $6 and as much as $250 to have my locks trimmed. Until today, there was no discernable difference between the most and least expensive haircuts. That notion was shattered after visiting Gary at Sheveux Salon. Sheveux Salon is a private salon located in the heart of Westwood. The tastefully designed contemporary space provides a pleasant and comfortable environment for your consultation and service. Unfortunately, sometimes you've got to look ugly to get pretty. I have always felt uncomfortable getting my haircut or dyed in a busy salon surrounded by strangers. At Sheveux Salon, this is not an issue because Gary only sees one client at a time, giving them an hour in a safe, clean, and private space. This is probably why Gary counts celebrities among his clients. Gary also provides a fresh clean haircut apron to each client. No apron is reused on another client until thoroughly sanitized--just one of the many thoughtful touches at Sheveux Salon. I wish my physician would spend the same time asking me questions about my health as Gary did about my lifestyle and haircare routine before he picked up a pair of scissors. By asking questions, Gary can help clients look their best by educating them on what they should and should not be doing to ensure they have the healthiest and best-looking hair. Thanks to Gary, I now know that I should not be shampooing my hair every day and that using lukewarm or cool water is best for washing my hair. After listening to my concerns, Gary began cutting my hair. Gary takes the time to explain to you what he's doing and how it benefits your hair. After giving me a "master cut", Gary shampooed my hair and provided a treatment to help it look its best. Gary uses the DAVINES line of hair care products specific to your hair type. Not only did they smell delightful, but they also made my hair and scalp feel wonderful. Great place to get a hair system. Gary is such a pro. He was extremely helpful with helping me decide which way to go, and was able to answer all of my questions/concerns without being dismissive like another place was. After support is great too. Had small issues that were addressed over text message. Very cool guy, will put a movie on the TV if you want, chat about whatever, super nice. Can't say enough good things about this experience.

I recently had a cut and styling with Gary. For years I've struggled with hair tangling and my hair a bit out of proportion. Gary literally changed this making me feel much more confident about my hair. I honestly didn't even know what to tell him to do, however Gary's professionalism and knowledge had all the answers. He is an outstanding hair stylist. Not only does he do a great job, but he explains everything he is doing in terminology that is understandable. He'll make some recommendations for products but no pressure to buy them. The answer is "you can get it on Amazon". No up selling. For years I've worn a cap because I was uncomfortable with my hair. I was so happy with his work that I literally forgot my cap in his salon! If that isn't evidence of a job well done, I don't know what is. In addition to being a great hair stylist, Gary is also a very nice person. He'll welcome you into his salon and make you feel very comfortable. Great job Gary!

If you're looking for a premium haircut on the Westside, look no further than Gary! I've been coming here for a few years and Gary has always been consistent, professional and friendly. The online appointment system is super convenient, and the salon itself is really nicely designed and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend Sheveux Salon for a quality haircut.

I've been going to Gary for a little over a year now - roughly every 2 weeks. From time to time I've experimented with other top tier stylists but I always come back to Gary. He really is great at what he does, and he listens and does a good job understanding what works for you. At this point, every cut is perfect and the hair is always fresh. I have longer hair that can get heavy quick, I've never had someone texturize as well as Gary. I highly recommend using him.

So glad I found Gary. I'm very particular about my hair and Gary is by far the best stylist I've found in LA. He is super chill and has a very comfortable salon. He's great with my kids too. A legend!

Sheveux Salon is awesome! Gary is super nice and really good with hair. He takes the time to understand what you're looking for and makes sure you leave with what you want. The salon is small but comfortable and relaxing. Also, they partially validate for the parking garage across the street behind Trader Joe's. If you're looking to step up your haircut game, this is the place to go!
