Beautiful spa, wonderful service. Amanda is a fantastic massage therapist, specifically for prenatal.

Relaxing spa in the city with great amenities. There’s a steam shower in the locker’s room and lounge chairs in the pool area to relax in. Service was great and everything was very clean and organized.

This is a must go! I had a great experience. My husband gifted me a message and facial for my birthday. Staff was top notch. Facility was very clean.

Great spa experience. I got the omakase facial. It was truly tailored to my skin condition. Service was amazing. Can’t wait to come back for a massage.

Yooooo this place was it. Great place to take the partner and relax. Side effects: you will have an immense need to visit Japan after.

Treated my mom for a 90 minute massage here; she had a great experience and found the ambiance to be very relaxing and clean. The front desk / service staff and masseuse were kind and attentive. Would love to check out this place for myself one day

Amazing, beautiful, clean and friendly. I was soooo happy and relaxed being here at this spa. My masseuse was named Lisa and this was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly and even gave me a Happy Birthday card with a refreshing drink after my massage. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience. I’m coming back again and bringing friends.

I decided to book a reservation to this spa based on an online video review. However, I was far from impressed when I attended the facility. It didn’t meet my expectations at all. The bathroom floor was dirty and there was only one toilet stall to use. The. near $500 I paid for the massage & experience there was not worth it. I won’t be coming back.

I'm just extremely disappointed, everything was fine until I went for the massage itself. My girlfriend and I arrived at the appointed time, we were greeted well and taken to the recreation area with a swimming pool. It was very nice, warm and cozy there. But it is worth noting that the water in the pool was cool. Then we were invited for a massage. I ordered the "Relaxing Elemental Massage". As soon as I started going down the stairs, I noticed that the room was cool. Then I walked into the room and then it started. The air conditioner made noise like a subway train and it was very cold, I immediately asked to turn it off and make it warmer. the girl couldn’t cope with it and simply took out a small heater, which clearly couldn’t handle it. Then she started giving me a massage which was far from relaxing. She pressed unpleasantly on the points and worked only on one side of her back for the first 10-15 minutes, when she switched to the other, I asked not to press, she apologized and asked “that’s better, are you expecting this?” I was shocked! I expect to receive a professional massage from a person in a place where I pay $300 and not questions and stress. Plus this air conditioner that screams under your ear and there is no question of relaxing at all. There was a desire to just get up and leave, I don’t know why I didn’t do this. I told the reception about everything and they gave me a discount, even though I warned them “it’s not about the money,” I’m ready to pay the full amount, I just want real good service for the money. any granny in Thailand or a regular salon in Chinatown for $80 will offer you the best service. And most importantly, my fear was confirmed when the next morning I woke up with a fever from a cold. Obviously a change in temperature from warm and humid to cold and dry can cause this.

Gorgeous Spa, Excellent Treatment and Great Customer Service. I received a gift certificate several years ago before the pandemic and was so excited to finally use it! In booking my treatment I was guided through what treatments I could choose from what my gift certificate amount would cover and was really looking forward to my appt. The day had arrived and I walked in pretty frazzled from a horrible customer service experience I encountered elsewhere and was really looking forward to relaxing experience free from the stresses of the city. EVERYTHING was wonderful until I checked out and was told I owed an additional $260. Talk about yucking my yum! Aleks was so kind and rather than insisting I owed the $260 she suggested I check my gift certificate for the amount when I got home ( I didn't have it with me) When I got home we spoke on the phone and she explained that the prices for the treatments received had gone up since the gift certificate was issued. I reminded her that when I booked the treatments, the woman guided me towards what my gift certificate would cover. Aleks completely understood my disappointment and agreed that I was mislead when booking and she waived the difference completely. In todays world where customer service is basically non existent, I really appreciate how Aleks handled the situation with kindness and understanding. Thank you Aleks!!

Hands down the best facial and massage I have ever received! The space is beautiful and the staff could not be friendlier. One of the better relaxation spaces I have been to with many different seating options and spread out so you aren't on top of the other spa guests. The only two (minor) downsides are: 1. the pool appeared to be open to hotel guests so at one point there were a few people swimming (loud) laps in the pool which sort of killed the relaxation vibe. 2. the treatment rooms are downstairs so you exit the relaxation area/locker room and walk past the gym and then downstairs to your treatment room. Can't wait to return (hopefully very soon)!

Amazing zen sanctuary. If only the pool is replace with an onsen, you’d think you are in Japan.

Best massage in NYC! Staff is amazing!

I have been going to the ShiBui Spa for over 10 years and the quality of the experience is on a steady decline. The receptionists will put you on hold for 5 minutes while 'checking for availability' and someone else will pick up having no clue of the booking inquiries and then explained that the person who originally answered phone had decided to go to the bathroom or walked away from the desk. This happens more than a dozen times in the recent years when I tried to book any appointment. The cleanliness has also gone downhill, the area around the pool is always slippery with water and no one bothers to wipe it for the safety of the patrons walking around it. A number of seasoned therapists have left, the spa director has changed multiple times. What a shame! From a special place to be a huge disappointment now!

SCAM ALERT 🚨 DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A REAL FACIAL SPA. First off, the Space is beautiful and relaxing and the staff super friendly. …but there are 100 other beautiful spas in New York with talented caring trained staff. However, I CANNOT recommend the spa services AT ALL. I got their SIGNATURE FACIAL , which by the way ended up billing over $500. this is probably double the price of a real facial in nyc, they just rubbed some lotion on My face for 45 minutes. I specifically asked the front desk for an extraction facial where they extract using steam. I again asked the therapist during the treatment and she said “no we don’t do that and i’m not even trained to do that.” She proceeded to spend the last 20 minutes and rub me ( not even a massage but patted me down like a child) on my scalp shoulders and arms. I asked her if she could give me a massage on my carpal tunnel area on my forearms and she refused - “sorry I’m not licensed for massage” Total waste of 90 minutes of my life. MANAGER REFUSED REFUND OR ACTUAL REMEDY, when we complained that no facial extraction was given to me even though that’s the service that was booked and requested. She “investigated” and refused to offer any refund. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE 🤡

The spa and health club are a great place to relax and rejuvenate. The services offered are at the highest level, and the staff is always ready to help. Massage is especially pleasant to relax after a long day. I highly recommend

Did a Onsen Healing Ritual with Cindy and it was the most relaxed my body has been in years. Felt like all my knots came undone and my body could expand/melt. Thank you, Cindy! The pool/waiting area seems simple but it's simplicity was very tranquil and created a soothing/meditative pool experience. Highly recommend!

Highlight: amazing treatment, terrible desk staff. I want to rate this experience a lot lower but the physical services received were incredible—customer service was NOT. Onset ritual was an incredible and unique experience. Hands down best massage I have ever received. The whole appointment was very magical. The area where you wait for treatments was beautiful and there is a pool you can use! Highly recommend. However, the staff that checks you in and leads you to the locker rooms is horrible. Really rude and unwelcoming. It really put a damper on my appointment. I am pretty shocked they have such horrible service here because it sets the tone for your whole treatment… I plan on contacting the spa. For spending over 1k in treatments this is highly unacceptable 👎.

I have not been in far too long but this spa was a saving grace when I lived in the city - the space, baths, and massages are such a calm oasis from city life.

Loved this spa! *Note* must have proof of vax to be seen. I rec'd a gift certificate to go here and used it for a 60 min healing birch massage which was wonderful, relaxing, magical _and_ healing. I unfortunately arrived late (I underestimated the walk time from the subway by 12 minutes - whoops) but the staff was really understanding and accommodating. They saw me right away and made the most of the time left in my appt. which honestly felt like a full appt - didn't feel rushed despite my tardiness. Overall I found the staff to be friendly and thoughtful (since I didn't have time to get setup in the lockerroom my masseuse brought me a bag for my things and double checked I had my phone, headphones etc when I left the treatment room - yes I whirled into this spa late, rain soaked and trailing chaos). After my treatment they showed me to my locker and the relaxation area and pool. I ate some complimentary snacks, like almonds and apples, and was probably overpleased with myself over this rare bit of nutritional discipline and just the overall self care. Then I took a few laps in their pool (it was empty when I was using it - possibly because I went first thing in the a.m.). I didn't try the steam room (it only looked large enough for one person at a time but NBD ). The bathroom was spotless and well stocked and checkout was seamless and friendly too. Very much worth the trip, even after 12 min walking in the rain 😁

Take it from someone who gets a lot of massages - this was a life changing experience. The space itself is a 200 year old Japanese barn with a spiritual calmness to it. The massage beds are heated waterbeds with remote movement, heated sandbags are placed on you throughout the massage and the massage itself was unreal. Thanks Amanda for being so talented- I’ll be back!

The most underwhelming spa experience. The scrub service is silly, they just rub salt on you and then you take a shower and done. It lasts about 30 min and the end result is basically like taking a shower at your house. If you expect something along the lines of Korean scrubs, this is definitely not that. The massage is better. The facilities are very basic, no hot tub, a cold pool and a small changing room where you can’t really get much privacy. There is a tiny steam room but it’s very loud and takes some time to heat up. These are all small factors but add it all up and this is not the luxury experience you want to splurge on, especially in tribeca where there are several great spas.

My wife received a gift card for this place by her friends as a present for our wedding day. My wife booked a massage here and cancelled due to getting covid. When we spoke over the phone with management, they claimed it was too late to cancel the reservation and said they would charge $100 towards the gift card. Instead of charging the gift card, they decided to charge our credit card $240.35. Kinda ridiculous. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
