I had the absolute best experience I've ever had at a Salon. All Queer and LGBTQ individuals should flock here. Aaron made me feel so comfortable and completely understood me. They are a fantastic stylist did Wonders to my hair. I've NEVER wanted to revisit a Stylist before but you bet your pibby coming back just for Aaron. I actually love how I look and feel now. Please come and ask for Aaron

I really don’t like to leave bad reviews, but I felt so bad after my experience here. When I first walked in and sat down, the Asian woman working there burst out laughing after looking at me. My consultation was with Sun (I think). He had his arms crossed the entire time and did not even get up to look at my hair or touch it. He expressed his apprehension towards working on my hair multiple times throughout my visit because he didn’t know the history of my hair, despite me sharing it with him and coming there to do so. The woman behind him continued to stare at me throughout my visit which made me uncomfortable. At the end of my consultation, he shrugged his shoulders and said he recommends I continue to maintain my curls. I had to awkwardly ask if there were conditioning treatments I could get at the salon and he shrugged and said “yeah, you could get on the books if you wanted to”… extremely awkward experience here. It’s unfortunate that people of color with hair textures similar to mine do not always feel comfortable and ridiculed in hair salons like this one. I would recommend spending your money somewhere more inclusive of those with “ethnic” hair and the stylists don’t laugh at their clients.

Wendy is the best! I have straight hair and am pretty particular about my cuts and color. She knocks it out of the park.

This is a lovely salon. It is very inviting and relaxed. And, there is off street parking. Sun did a fantastic job on my hair. I am a great fan.

First time visiting Shine today for a deep conditioning treatment. Aaron does amazing work with my challenging curls, & I love how nerdy about hair science. Scalp massages are pure magic & relaxation. The space is also very clean & welcoming. Even the COVID precautions are convenient & classy compared to other spaces. Edited 05/29: Added a pop of fashion color and blended greys. My curls are so happy, too! Delightful color experience.

I got in quickly for a haircut I desperately needed. The salon is bright, clean, and welcoming. I had a great chat with the owner while getting my hair done and got exactly what I asked for in the cut, my hair looks fantastic! I will definitely be returning for all my hair needs.
