Michelle is an angel and an amazing stylist/colorist!! I usually go in with multiple ideas and she's always willing to take the time to help me decide what I want. The results are always gorgeous I love how creative she can be with unconventional haircuts and colors. Annnnd we have the best conversations while I'm in her chair. I love Michelle!!

Rose always does such a great job with my hair! She listens to what I want and offers knowledge when I’m not sure what I want to do! She also is the only stylist that I’ve been to that knows how to deal with my thick curly hair!

Came to get my hair cut for the first time in a very long time and Sydney took her time to really listen to what I wanted and she was meticulous during the entire service! Explained all the products to me that i actually bought for once and love now and took each strand so seriously. I walked away loving my haircut and blowout for once and have gotten so many compliments on how healthy it looks. I’m so happy I finally found a place I can go to regularly. It’s a huge plus that the salon is also full service and so nice inside! Highly recommend asking for Sydney! She’s a rockstar and the absolute sweetest!

Just moved to Charlotte. Kay is too good. Somehow she knows I wanna talk about the compensation structure and qualification differences between salons and barbers and certifications and about her work tools and the weather :) Absolutely amazing stellar performance, the Queen of my hair(what’s left of it) for as long as I’m in CLT. Great haircut, great service. Was able to get a same day appointment during a holiday week and was really happy with the cut by Paris. She listened to my preferences and delivered just that. Really nice stylist.

I’ve seen Rachel B. for several years now. Not only is she my trusted stylist, but she has become a pal and a confidante ✨ I moved to CLT from NYC and have been navigating the transition, and Rachel has always been empathetic and genuine while making sure my hair is on point. She’s always been a safe space for me and I know she truly cares about me beyond the doors of the salon. And seriously, I’ve never had better haircuts or bang trims- she is way more skilled and detail oriented than ANY stylist I went to in Manhattan or Williamsburg/Greenpoint. She’s a girl’s girl with natural talent.

I’ve done extensive research on salons in the area as I am super particular about my hair and the products I use. I’ve seen Cabria twice now and she truly deserves all the stars in the world!!! She is super kind, talented, and gives me the cut I want each time. Her product recommendations aim to enhance the health of my fine, long hair. She completed a tinted gloss on my hair this last visit and without hesitation I booked another with her in a few months. I cannot recommend Cabria enough!

Best salon experience I’ve had in years! I had really thick hair, but Jenah was so helpful and did so good with the thickness and curly-ness. She’s also just so lovely & great to converse with. Will definitely be back😊

Faith is the best! If you go to Shine Salon I’d highly recommend setting your appointment with Faith. Very polite and professional young lady. Very knowledgeable and they will not sell you anything you don’t need and/or won’t do anything to your hair that will damage it. They want you to leave with healthy hair and will try to get max results of what you want. If you were thinking about box hair dye this is your sign to get your hair done by a professional instead!! Remember you get what you pay for! Ask for Faith! :)

My daughter loves Nina at shine. Nina and all the stylists really take extra care to make her feel special (she’s 10) and listen to what she wants. Nina is also wonderful at translating 10 year old style wants to something a mom can support AND willing to pay for. 😉 I also love any of the stylists for event hair. They are always fun and willing to help me realize my ideas.

The reason for my review is because of the treatment I have received as a loyal client. I was requested to pay a “new client” fee after being a client at the salon for well over a year and have sent many of my friends to this salon. If their policy was that all color clients have to pay a hold fee that would be fine but I felt singled out and was told I was a bad/high risk client for canceling one appointment out of the many I’ve had. The worst feeling.They made me feel horrible, which is never how a place should make you feel.

Faith did a great job on my hair! I had never been to this salon before, but got recommendations from others. Faith helped me figure out the perfect color that will help avoid root lines when growing out, offered a solution for the pesky grays, and highlighted my hair with caramel tones. She listened to everything that I wanted and gave suggestions when I was unsure what to do. Faith also gave me a cut that finally frames my face the way I wanted! During the cut, she was asking my opinion and we were able to work together to figure out the perfect length and style. No awkward moments of wondering when to speak up if you want something shorter or longer, haha. I highly recommend Faith! UPDATE 2/13/21: Faith helped me cut 8 inches off of my hair! Big moves, but I love it! She did really subtle highlights this time, a darker color, and the perfect cut. I’m adding a pic (forgive me I’m not a photographer, I slept on my hairstyle then took these pics, buts it as real as it gets). Everyone who has seen it is questioning if it’s my real color, haha.

I came to Shine after moving to CLT and needing a new salon. I went for a gloss and haircut appointment with Michelle! She is so wonderful and I had a great time at my appointment! We talked about what tone to go with for gloss and she nailed it, I love the color we went with! And the cut was perfect, I needed a trim, kept long layers, and trimmed my face framing pieces and it all looks amazing and was just was I was imagining. She also gave me a super bouncy and shiny blowout which has lasted two days already! Michelle is amazing!!

Kayla is WONDERFUL!!! She helped me save my hair after a really bad color job at another salon. Everyone was so very nice and made me feel very comfortable. Will be back again!

Rachel B is the best stylist I have had. She has helped me achieve my blonde dreams and I cannot recommend her expertise enough. Salon itself is pricey but worth it for Rachel’s craft.

I love Shine Salon so much! I started coming here years ago for Sarah Graddy, she introduced me to the amazing Nina Davila, and I am so grateful! From a skill level, your hair/skin/etc. will look amazing, no doubt about that, but from a soul level you will feel amazing too! There aren’t enough words to full express how thankful I am for this space, and the talent that is displayed, so hopefully this review helps showcase it a little. I recently got a service from Shine Salon by Jenna for Perm and they charged $600. I am writing to express my concerns regarding the hair perm treatment I received at Shine Salon recently. I visited your salon for a hair perm, and unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the results. Before the treatment, my hair was frizzy and dry, but I had curls. I do appreciate she deranged my hair but I paid for that service also. Nothing came for free. However, after the perm, my hair is only straight and dry, and I did not achieve the curls I was expecting. I paid $600 for the service, and it is disheartening to see that the money spent did not result in the desired outcome. During the process, Jenna performed the service, and I feel it's important to mention that she could have informed me that I might not get curls. Despite expressing my desire for curls, I was not given the necessary information about the potential outcome, and Jenna proceeded with the perm. Following her instructions, I washed my hair after three days, but unfortunately, I still don't see any curls. I believe communication is crucial in such situations, and I would appreciate it if you could address this matter promptly. I am disappointed with the results, and I hope we can find a resolution to ensure customer satisfaction. I definitely recommend to avoid this Salon. I have been waiting for them to solve this problem and it’s been 4 days I have been following up but I have not received any response. I only have one option left to handle this situation to go to consumer court.

Jennah was absolutely amazing! She did a full highlight and made me blonde again which is what I've been wanting for so long but no other stylist I'd been to could seem to do! She is also so sweet and attentive. I was surprised to come across a negative review on here about her....I'd highly recommend taking that with a grain of salt.

Got a great haircut from Hannah this week! It really suits my face and my hair feels lighter and has movement, but still has the length I wanted to keep. I'm really happy with how it turned out. :) To Josh, who posted a bad review because of the staff parking in the nearby neighborhood: How do you know it's the staff and not the customers? Or employees from businesses next door? The lot is super small. I almost had to park in the neighborhood as a customer but found a spot at the last minute. Street parking is legal in residential neighborhoods as long as it isn't in front of a driveway. Your review has been reported to google for being irrelevant to to this lovely salon's services.

I had a great experience at Shine Salon with my Stylist, Caitlin. I just got a Cut, Blowdry and Style. It came out even better than I expected, it honestly is the best cut & hair service I’ve ever gotten. Everyone was also very accommodating and respectful as my Task Trained Service Dog was with me and I had no issues. My SD was ignored and not interacted with, which I really appreciated as it can be very distressing for me. He behaved perfectly and this was also his first time accompanying me to a Salon. I’m so happy I found my new salon and stylist, Caitlin! I highly recommend her and will definitely be back!

My bridal party had hair and makeup done at Shine the morning of my wedding. The team at Shine was absolutely wonderful to work with. They let the 9 of us take over the downstairs space with room to set up lunch and mimosas plus plenty of room for us to steam dresses and hang out. It was such a pleasant experience and so much easier than trying to set up hair and makeup in a hotel room or something. On top of that, the hair and makeup professionals were incredible and everyone looked beautiful! Hair and makeup was natural and comfortable AND stayed put through my entire outdoor June wedding. I wanted to look “like myself” on my wedding day, not overly made up for the camera, and Nina (makeup) and Sarah G (hair) were so patient and attentive in my trial, helping me figure out that balance. I couldn’t have been happier with how I looked and I think my bridesmaids were happy too! All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend them to any bride. Huge thanks to Nina who not only did makeup but helped me plan the schedule and book the space. Also Michelle (makeup), and Sarah G, Morgan, Blen (hair). I’ve also been going to Shine for 3 years as a regular customer and they are perfect for the everyday too! Jana is incredibly talented and always makes me look great. The employees of this salon park in the neighborhood of chantilly instead of the lot that is literally out their back door. We’ve nicely asked them not to. This is really annoying. Please stop.
