My daughter and I had facials by a wonderful team of professionals. My esthetician, Mia, was amazing and loved every minute, and my daughter did, too! However, I forgot her the name of her esthetician. Both ladies are true, caring professionals and I highly recommend Shining Massage & Facial Clinic! Thank you, ladies, for a wonderful experience!!!

I tried this place and will not be back. I personally like a deep, slow relaxing massage and it was not slow or relaxing. I didn’t feel as though my masseuse had the skills of other massage therapists that I have used at other facilities. When someone uses their elbow for a majority of the deep tissue massage I don’t find that sort of technique pleasant. *responding to what they wrote below, I have had many deep tissue massages in my life. In this instance I let the masseuse know twice that it did hurt quite a lot, and she continued with her technique. She did help the temperature which the room was cold so she cracked open the door. I have been to many more professional establishments (that were unfortunately booked and I needed a massage before taking a long road trip) that charged a lot less. Good luck!

After having a large franchise membership for 13 years we decided to make a change. I tried Shining Massage a couple months ago for the first time and knew this was my place to go. No waiting on appointments forever. Personalized massage for your pressure and where you need worked. Very professional and caring. Everytime I need a massage I book that day and within a few hours I can get in. Mainly, they know how to actually heal you and where to work. This has been my best place so far. I had the most wonderful massage w Mia and she made me feel like a new woman walking out. My only regret being I didn’t do the 90 minute. I definitely recommend using her services for all your aches and pains. This is the look of complete relaxation after my 60 minute medium pressure massage w Mia. Can’t wait to see her again soon.

I visited with Mia today for a massage and foot reflexology treatment. I am not local to the area, so I relied on reviews to choose Shining out of the many options in the Sarasota area. I was not disappointed and in fact so thrilled with the results. It may sound like hyperbole for the purposes of a review, but I felt like springing up off the table afterwards; more invigorated and energized than when I came in. Take it for what it may be worth to you. Mia's time, skill and kindness was certainly worth it to me.

I've been going to shining spa massage for about 8 months and I usually do the 60 or 90 min massage. They do a fantastic job. I go once a month so I decided to join the subscription. You still need to pay an additional $10 for a deep tissue massage on top of the subscription cost fyi.. Aside from the extreme language barrier, the tipping issue needs to be addressed. The prices aren't the cheapest in town. So each month I pay $110 + tip.. My very first time I did a $90 massage and I brought $25 for a tip (28%).. that's above typical and usually anyone would say thank you. Instead they said no they needed $30-35.. like I signed a contract to do so. So then I bumped up to $30 each time I go & that still is not enough... Each month I go it's the same hassle and request for a higher tip. Very annoying but the quality of the massage is why I go here and pay the higher cost. I won't be paying more than $30 for a tip. It's gratuity, not expected.

DO NOT get cupping at this location with your massage. I blistered (see picture below) and still have a burning pain/sensitivity to the touch for 4 days now (I got the massage on Friday and it’s Tuesday) it’s been difficult to sleep and even drive. I brought it to the attention of the owner and she told my mother who was very concerned with how much pain I was in that I walked in with blisters and that it was ok to put cupping on top of my blisters. I NEVER walked in with blisters and you can see the blisters within the cupping marks. The massage therapist told me to take a shower 4 hours later (which I found odd at the time as I didn’t know I blistered yet till I got home) i listened to her but it did nothing to help me. The therapist was very hard to understand as well. Once I got home from the massage and looked in the mirror I noticed the blisters and the pain was getting worse and worse especially when I took a shower at 8pm. The manager did absolutely nothing in terms of customer service. She said it was “normal” to blister and sent me an article. Do I have to read an article after a massage to know how to heal? No. There was no waiver or anywhere before the massage saying I could blister. I’ve had MANY cupping massages before and never blistered and had this much pain days later. You should feel rejuvenated day 2 after a cupping massage not experiencing pain and blisters. The manager offered NOTHING to me so I’m writing my first bad review for a business. Worst customer service ever!

Extremely rude! whoever answered the phone was yelling and aggressive. Did not have any patience to answer any of my questions. This is no way to treat customers that want to obtain information before using your services.

So the massage itself was good, but I wasn’t happy about the transaction. I booked a 1 hour deep tissue massage ($90). I only had $10 cash on me, so that was the tip I offered. I would expect to tip $10-15 on that type of service. The lady says the tip is too low, and points to a sign with tip guidelines. It said something like 22% tip for “good job”, 25-30% tip for “great job”, and 35% tip for “excellent job.” I offered to add to the tip but it would have to be on card; she agreed. When I offered to add another $5 tip on card (totaling $15 with the cash I gave), she said that’s too low and I should tip another $10, to make my tip total $20, pointing to the sign again. I said you can’t dictate someone’s tip like that, but fine I’ll tip you a total of $20. When she punched in the $10 on her card machine, the card machine doesn’t read that the amount is a tip, so it automatically asks “if you would like to tip.” She pointed that to me to ask if I wanted to tip on top of the $10 tip the card transaction was charging me! At this point I was really annoyed. Even if someone disagrees with me and thinks my original tip was too low, I just think it’s rude to have a sign with tip guidelines ranging from 22-35% and to push a guest to pay more in the manner that took place. If you’re expecting 22-35% tip, just make your massage rates higher.

What a gem! This is one of the best massages in my life, and I have been getting massages for 15 years. If you are looking for a deep tissue massage, go here and ask for Lily. She is tiny but has extreme strength - and knows exactly where my body needs work, without having to even tell her (there is a language barrier but we understand each other). I am muscular and have a lot of knots and prefer really deep, and Lily is PERFECT for someone like me. They also use hot stones complimentary at the end and is really great to soothe those worked muscles. Great location, lots of parking, and affordable. This place has everything you're looking for - Lily and Ana are great. As long as I live in SRQ, I will be a loyal customer at Shining Massage.

Had a great massaage! Anna (?) wasn't afraid to get deep into my trouble areas. I have a membership somewhere else, but there were no openings. I'm so glad I tried Shining. I'll be closing other acct. Only reason I didn't give 5 ⭐️... headrest was uncomfortable & could've used a lil essential oils (peppermint, lavender). When your face is there for so long, would be nice to be comfy & scented to relax more. All in all tho, great massage. I'll be back.... soon. 😊

This will be the first time I have voluntarily provided a review, and the reason for doing so Is the massage I had today was the best that I’ve had, and I’ve had many. I believe the masseuse’s name was Anna, who was able to identify pain points & worked with great skill to relieve the muscle tightness in my back & quads. I will definitely be returning. The only reason for the 4 star is The price for the hour massage was $10 higher versus what was shown on their website. Additionally, there was a $10 coupon provided by Yelp that was not honored.
