Love Safiya , first time coming to her , found her on google , she is excellent pays attention to what you want and takes her time she even redid my color up top because she found some “sparkles” -greys still in my hair , will be coming to her again for some more color . I haven't colored my hair in 20 years or more and really wanted to try something new. I chose Safiya because of her great reviews and the photos I saw on her instagram. I came in with some inspiration pics, she gave me a thorough consultation and I really felt she understood what I was looking for. She took her time, gave me a great cut, a beautiful balayage and style. When she was done, I couldn't believe that I was walking out of there with exactly what I had hoped for. I feel like a million bucks! Thank you Safiya! You brightened me up and I am glad I found you! Highly recommend!

Safiya is very talented. I came to her feeling very defeated with my hair as I had previously not been able to get my desired outcome. After she talked me through the process of what she needed to do to achieve my desired look, I felt very confident with what she was doing.. and the end result was my dream hair color!! Not only did the color, tone, placement and blending come out perfectly, but I especially appreciated how it was all done while maintaining the health of my hair.

Disgusting human and subpar work to put it mildly. I asked her to fix HER mistake, and she started screaming at me and threatened me. I had to block her number, because she wouldn’t stop harassing me. Avoid her like the plague!

I had the opportunity to sit in Safiya’s chair yesterday for a color change/correction. From the moment I stepped in her salon I felt 100% comfortable with my hair in her hands. I am an ex-stylist and have never found anyone I truly feel comfortable with. She is extremely talented and thoughtful and is a master at her craft. I will be a client of hers from now on. I loved Safiya! This was my first time cutting my hair this short and I wanted to go to someone I could trust and I can say that I made the right choice by coming to Safiya. She's so sweet and welcoming and I loved the cut. Definitely found my hair dresser and would a 100% recommend. I felt like I was in safe hands and could trust her with my hair.

There is no other hairstylist that I would recommend other than Safiya. She works hard to help each of her clients reach the hair goals they are hoping for and answering any and all questions they may have. And after each appointment, Safiya styles your hair so you leave a different person than when you walked in, instantly giving you a bright pep in your step. On top of being an amazing hairstylist, she is also a great makeup artist for any special occasion. A multi-talented powerhouse, Safiya has also created a safe and inviting studio for all her clients. Getting a cut and color with Saifya was a superb experience. She is an expert with pigmented/Asian/Black hair and really went above and beyond to achieve my desired look in just one session. I brought her an unusual idea and she proved to be very adaptable and capable. Her salon space is so intimate, private, relaxing and comfortable. You really get to enjoy sitting in the studio of a talented artist, with lots of amenities to make you feel pampered. I especially enjoyed her personality, we had a lot of fun talking about her kids and other interests we had in common. My haircut has been incredibly easy to style at home, and continues to look great months later. Thank you Safiya!!

Safiya is amazing! I found SJ House of Hair on Tik Tok while looking for a stylist that really knew how to do Asian/people of color's hair. Safiya DID NOT disappoint. She was dedicated to making sure I was comfortable and that I loved the finished product. 6 hours of hard work, she deserved every cent I spent and more. Her place is beautiful, it's a mix of homey and glamorous. You can tell her heart and soul is in her work.

Safiya is the best around! I used to go to her when she was at a salon in Bellevue; however, I haven't been to see her since before the pandemic. I was SOOOOO excited to hear she opened her own salon in Auburn (less than 10 minutes from my house). I was "revived" this past weekend with my first cut from her in ~3 years. I felt like "me" again! I do love that she "dry cuts" hair in case you're someone who also likes that. Safiya is so warm and welcoming; it is always fun to sit in her chair!
