April gave me a facial and I went back for a Skin Peel. I’ve had some irritation and really want to talk with her, but she hasn’t called me back. I’m actually concerned because she is a sweet person and I don’t know if something happened to her. I love to support women owned business. I’m scared something has happened to her.

Now not returning my calls! Smh.. APRIL you are giving me broke girl energy since I am not the first deposit you kept. You could of made more money by doing your job and being professional smh

Edit: I have had more recent experiences that do reflect the more recent comments. She will cancel appointments same day ( 2 hours before) and reaching her to reschedule is almost impossible. I am not sure what’s changed on her end but her unreliability coupled with her not automatically refunding people’s money is very shady. It’s unfortunate that I had to change this review but I take reviews seriously. Let me start by saying that I am a pretty tough reviewer in general. I will admit that I was a bit apprehensive about booking so far in advance with such a strict rules regarding changing appointment etc., I made it on time to my scheduled appointment and from that point I was impressed. April was through and extremely knowledgeable about skin care in general as she stands on years of experience. I did not feel rushed at all which was something I also appreciated. This was by far the best facial I have ever received. The treatment left my complexion bright and allowed for my products to penetrate and work more effectively which was the jumpstart my skin needed during quarantine. I’m seeing the effects going on a week after my facial! The treatment was more comprehensive than facials I have had at the four seasons. I’m impressed by April. She is thorough and professional and I highly recommend her services. She is worth the wait. I will be back.

Booked an appointment in April, ironically. The appointment was scheduled for June 15th. The day of, 2 hour before, April sent a long text to cancel. She mentioned building safety issues, which was concerning. She haphazardly offered to try and rebook me when she could. I returned her text thanking her for alerting me and simply asked for my deposit back since I waited 3 months for this appointment. I sent screenshots of when I paid and even a mobile bank screenshot. She went radio silent. I haven't heard from her since. I had to report the charges to my bank. It's giving fraud. I regret trying to support this black owned business.

Donot book with Skin by April!! She is a thief! She cancels appointments to get quick money by keeping your deposit and not rescheduling you.She will not respond to your emails, texts and or phone calls. Please beware!!! I have reported her to the Federal Trade Commission.

I booked an appointment for last July that got canceled because the owner got Covid. I’ve called and texted and emailed repeatedly to try to reschedule or at least get my $50 deposit back since no service was rendered, and it’s like the business doesn’t exist anymore. The review from 3 months ago makes me think it’s just a matter of poor communication. I’ve never left a bad review in my life, but I don’t understand taking money from people as a deposit and not making sure you return it if you can’t or won’t deliver the service.

I had a second appointment scheduled with April on January 7, 2022. My first appointment with April was on Nov 10, 2021, during that appointment I was required to place a deposit for my January appointment. On January 7th, I received a text from April indicating she could not go forward with the appt because the pipes at her location had burst; I said no problem at all, let me know when she could reschedule me. I never heard from her. I tried following up a few days later via text. No response. I then tried asking if no availability to reschedule me then I was fine with having her issue me a refund for my deposit. Nothing. To date, I have still heard nothing. A few weeks following, I would try calling the office number and/or texting to speak to someone, never any luck nor any answer. So here it is March 2022 and still no answer nor my deposit returned. I’d never return at this point if a call was returned. The utter lack of courtesy to follow up has been confusing and disappointing.

Owner cancelled day of stating there was a death in her family. I completely understood. She said she would reschedule me the following month. Ok. That was August of 2021. I did not receive any correspondence in September so I reached out in October to reschedule… no reply. Again in November to reschedule or get my deposit refunded….. no reply. She appeared to have dropped off the face of the earth until I saw a review stating she has helped their skin with her treatment plan 3 months ago. April, if you’re reading this I’d like to say this to you…. It’s not to late to redeem yourself. You came highly recommended and provide a service to our community that is greatly needed. You haven’t made the best choices lately regarding your business, but you can turn it all around. Things happen, life happens and sometimes we’re not always in the best space mentally, emotionally or physically and nothing else seems to matter. I hope and pray that you are doing well and can make things right with the people who trusted you with their skin. I did not want to leave a bad review since I am a small business owner as well but felt like there was no other way to get your attention. This is your gift. You got this!

Unprofessional. I went to her for about three facials. They went fine. This recent upcoming appointment she canceled 2 hours beforehand and hasn’t responded since. I also purchased $130 worth of facial products from her July 8th, it is now July 29th and I still haven’t received them. She made up a lie saying that she had an allergic reaction to medicine and will we out for 24-48 hours. A week has passed and no response to reschedule my appointment or give my $50 deposit back.

April is the best Esthetician I have ever met in my life. First, her skills, quality and professionalism are outstanding. I will not go anywhere else she takes pride in everything that she does. Any negative reviews are people that are entitled and don't deserve the quality of work that she does!!!!! April always shows up her appointments period. She has never know showed for an appointment. RED FLAG REVIEW🚩🚩🚩🚩 do not believe every review that is posted. I have never experienced such outstanding results with her talent and services. She is a Wonder woman shop. Don't make small family owned businesses look bad on social media. Wake up. April is a real truly caring person about your acne and skincare needs. I love her and you should to. Shame on you for giving a hard working woman a negative review.... She has STL's utmost respect that other spas can not accomplish with acne. I love her because she know exactly what she is doing. She is the expert go to in St. Louis for tough skin cases or if you are looking to help your skins health, glow and appearance. I'm impressed with her to say the least. Skin by April has become one of my favorite places. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is great. I'm loving the results of my skin so far. In a few short months, they have been able to accomplish more and clear up my acne better than the dermatologist had in a year. 10 out of 10! I'd recommend to anyone.

I am so shocked that skin by April refused to see my friends son because when she had a three month wait, I advised my friend to speak to my aesthetician in California who uses the same product line so he could at least get started on the products by another certified aesthetician. He has been waiting to see April For over three months and was told that she would not see him simply because he had gone to somebody else. He is suffering terribly from acne and you would think as an acne specialist Skin by April would care, but she doesn’t! My friend knows so many people in St. Louis, and could have sent her tons of new clients, but because they are booked so far in advance, and are busy, April could care less. My Aesthetician offered to talk with her about my friends son and help transition him, but this woman and her helper wouldn’t even speak to her. I have never heard of an aesthetician who is so rigid that she actually refuses to see someone she doesn’t know simply because they went to somebody else first. Sadly I feel responsible because Skin By April seems to be the only game in town right now using this particular product line, but hopefully not for long. If you see this review, I hope you will strongly consider if this is the type of human being you want treating you. I would sooner fly to California!
