I spent a full 8 hours going from black to this beautiful shade of mauve, much credit to my artist, Sean. This was my first visit; So I didn’t Know what to expect, but went here at the recommendation of a friend. The registration process was a little confusing, they assured me that they had an opening in one week and asked me to send pictures of what we wanted to their phone. When I arrived, the salon looks more like a barber shop. They have multiple staff helping out with washing their hair, who are awesome by the way. Everybody is just friendly and it was so fun to see all the other clients rejoice at their new haircuts/color. I was so impressed by Sean’s attention to detail. His cutting skills are effortlessly masterful. He took no shortcuts in ensuring that each step of the process were missed but he was very efficient. When he started to dry my hair, I can see that he was very proud of his effort. You can spend so much more getting your hair to look this good. My hair ended up SO MUCH BETTER than I even imagined. Its this beautiful shade of mauve that compliments my pink attire/complexion. In some light it looks blonde, but it others there is this delicate pink. I’m so happy with my experience here I am definitely going back!

Came walk in to fix a butchered at home hair cut with choppy, uneven layers. They got me in and fixed my hair fast and beautifully! Wash was thorough, cut was efficient, and my hair looks and feels great. Safe to say I will be coming here for hair cuts from now on.

It’s so hard to trust someone with your hair! I caved in and winged it with Michael, I went in blind. Michael is very nice and easy to talk to but of course I took my book for the long session. I am so happy with my new hair and will definitely will be returning for future appointment.

Michael, let me just say he is amazing! I know it took awhile for me to post on here, but life just be busy lol anyways back to the hair. I went in Dec. 2024 and Michael brought my hair back to life and to the color I wanted! When I first went to him my hair was all in different colors from a previous color “specialist”/salon. Michael did his thing. The 2hr drive plus 7-8hrs on the chair was all worth it!!!

I absolutely love this salon! I’ve been here a few times, and every visit has been a great experience. Shang is always attentive to my concerns and works with me to achieve the look I want. I’ll definitely keep coming back! Update: Not sure how I feel about my last visit there. I came back again after 2 months because I’d like a nice haircut before my birthday. It’s starting to look big around my ears and make my hair heavy on the top. However, through the haircut, he kept judging my hair color because I did it myself. Like, I went in for a haircut, ok? Also my hair looks awful after the cut!! Wasn’t even dried properly when I walked out because he said this style looks good if it’s not blow dried too well (I later found out it’s a bs). When I finally blow dried my hair myself at home, I realized that he messed up my hair. It looks like a freaking mushroom (heavy on the top, thin at the bottom). Now I got a funny hair for my birthday, bravo. Perhaps it’s better to not visit the same hairstylist because it seems like they take their job less seriously after they became familiar with their clients

I had an amazing experience with Sam as my hair stylist! He colored my hair exactly how I wanted it—actually, even better than I imagined. He was so nice and attentive throughout the process. Despite my hair being bleached, it feels healthy and not damaged at all. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I’m definitely coming back for future appointments. Highly recommend!

Extreme hair color by Michael - I've been trying to get my hair to a very light blonde balayage (from dark brown) for the past year. 3 people tried, unsuccessfully. I found Michael and showed him a picture of what I wanted and what I had. My hair was damaged, but Michael managed to give me the results I wanted. I spent 7 hours at the salon. Everyone was courteous and professional. I love my results!!

I just got my hair done by Sam, and I couldn't be happier! It’s been tough finding a stylist in Chicago I can really trust, but Sam is amazing. He takes his time, and when I showed him pictures of what I wanted, he absolutely nailed it! He even added his own special touch that made it look even better than I expected. I really hope he doesn’t move away from Chicago! In Sam we trust lol✨

I shared photos of my goals before the appointment upon being asked. I explained I had been doing airtouch for a few years now, shared the current condition and color of my hair, etc. - so they had all the data behind what I had been doing to date, I didn’t hide it. During the appointment, the bleach sat on the hair from 1:30-5 pm. During that time, I started to get concerned - I’ve never had bleach/a lightening agent sit on my hair that long - and then it was reapplied. At the 3.5-4 hour mark, I asked how much longer and explained I couldn’t sit for the expected length of time he was offering (he was saying 2+ more hours!). So I asked him just to please try to darken, repair and move on. He tried his very best - he made it a cool blonde and brown balayage all over but it is not even nor does it look healthy. When seeing the rinsed out bleach, I could tell it was a brassy orange. Before I walked in, I had extremely thick, dark and healthy hair- but I walked out with dry and processed looking hair… it feels thin (when I tie it up, it is literally 1/3 less thick than it was previously) and brittle. I am scared to see if it falls or breaks - I imagine it will. I had worked years for thick, beautiful hair and now all of that is ruined. For $350+ and a salon with such great reviews, this is truly the last thing I expected. I am devastated.

I did not have a good experience with Sam. He chopped off half of the volume off my hair without letting me know he was going to. Out of 5 scheduled appointments, he only showed up to 1 of them because he kept "forgetting". I had admired his work online for years, but his reality is unorganized and wasted a lot of my time. He knows how to do balayage but isn't the best listener or communicator. The experience was overall very frustrating.

Loved the experience here. Was a little nervous because of cultural differences… but I showed up with some pictures and they took good care of me! I forgot the stylist name, but he’s a skinny tall Asian man. I want to say his name is Alan? But not sure. Definitely will come back! Thank you for making me feel comfortable and pretty after a haircut 🥹🫶🏽

Michael is the best!! He recommended that I don’t bleach anymore since my hair was already quite damaged from previous hair treatments, so we did an air touch balayage in ash brown :) so so happy with how the color turned out!

I received a male’s haircut here. The result of the haircut was completely different from the picture I showed in the beginning (and multiple times throughout). The designer tried to fix it through styling via applying heat but ended up slightly burning my scalp. He designer was not focused and was frequently looking at his watch. I would not recommend this place at all.

Leo is amazing. My hair is naturally curly and can be quite difficult to manage, but the stylist did an amazing job. The color turned out even better than I expected. I'm beyond happy with the results and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for expert care and beautiful color!

Such a good first experience! My hair was really long and thick so I wanted long layers and curtain bangs to add some dimension while also making my hair easier to handle. They did just that. So happy with the final product and will definitely be coming back!

I went to Leo to get my first ever perm. I showed him multiple pictures and explicitly said that I only wanted waves, not curls. He ended up giving me curls. My hair ended up looking awful, frizzy, and damaged. No matter what expensive conditioner shampoo’s, or oils that I used, nothing would help the damaged hair. I contemplating just shaving everything off. After a couple of months, I recently went to a different salon. They explained that Leo either used too strong of a perming solution for my hair type, or left it on for too long and that I would just have to regrow my hair out. I’m sure the other staff is great, but please be weary of Leo.
