Honestly it’s kinda sad seeing all these negative reviews. My experience was nothing like what has been said. Today was my first time going to this place and not one time did I side eye or feel disrespected or unsatisfied. I had three ladies working on my head. I showed them a picture of what I wanted. (I got the bora bora knotless braids) and they did my hair exactly like the picture. Each of them made sure I felt comfortable upon getting my hair done. The process to me went by quick and extremely professional. I never experienced them being “rough” on my head or careless. Everyone really seemed nice and non judgmental which was what I was worried about. I’m definitely coming back and telling everyone to book with them. I got knotless.Love my braids . My first time having braids in just 2 hrs. I highly recommend Smartbraids to everyone in the areas. I got in and out the same day after my braider canceled on me last minute with my deposit . I look up braids in Lexington and I found Smartbraids. I call the number the lady on the phone said come in right away . I am very pleased . I walked in immediately. . My despoilment become a blessing were I found me a new spot were deposit is not required I love love Smartbraids.Thank you I will be back and will tell everyone.

I love my flip over Fulani boho knotless done by Vivy.The braids are neat and stylish and very versatile.I do love the idea of me just walking in.Because of my busy schedule with kids braids is the best way for me to manage my hair. I love smart braids!! I go for my waist length knotless braids and they get me right!! They are so fast and my hair is beautiful every time!!!!!! Go with clean and blow dry hair and they will get you in !!! These girls are the best !! Show them the picture and they will help, seriously go to smart braids !!! You see my triangle parts ??? They are the best plus hair is included with braids

I enjoy the speed and availability of smart braids. The only gripes that I have are my braids being smaller and not the larger size that I ask for. Also, if the hair is tangled while braiding, please do not pull and tugg it gives your customers headaches. This was my third visit the first and second times were great. Also, the braids are very neat.

Very convenient! It's really a hit or miss depending on the braider. They have a hard time following pictures. Medium knotless are usually just big parts with small braids. They refuse to use more hair. Everything is an argument. And they will talk about you while you're in the chair! Jessica is the best braider. They get mad when you ask for her.

I had my hair braided for a festival. Cornrows that came up into a Mohawk that finished into small braids all over with extensions. Megan did my hair and it was perfect. I got a million compliments. The ladies at Smart Braids are so nice too. Very helpful and want to help you get what you are asking for. Highly recommend.

The quality of their service varies, and it has gone down considerably over the years. I’ve gotten the same style three times and it’s come out different every time. This last time, my center part isn’t even straight. Then, they make an infinite amount of excuses and expect you to take what they give you. This is not to say that they don’t have one or two who take pride in their work, but walk-ins beware: they will give you anybody who will do anything.This was my last visit.

Took my daughter to smartbraids as directed by my wife, it was my first time driving there for braiding, it was a walk-in, they started off almost immediately, I watched them work collectively in the most organized teamwork I have experienced, and finished off on time. The job was far better than I had expected. I would recommend this place to anyone interested.

its your job to accommodate your customers & yall show no respect or professionalism every time something goes wrong with customers yall never willing to fix it or accommodate customers in fact they get on facebook arguing and showing unprofessionalism & really should not continue to get business or be trusted in peoples head yall cant even earn the customers trust & respect ! All the bad reviews and they havent changed a attitude, a technique or anything in this shop ive watch this for years with THE SAME OWNER !

No words……. I hope someone opens another uplifting braiding salon around here. Just a law suit waiting to happen. I wish they hired more professional people to represent the African community. You don’t talk and spit over someone especially while you’re doing their hair. Not a place women should go to be pampered. I read the reviews and saw how they degraded and talked bad about some people…..next time just call the immigration ICE. I am sure some of them are working without a work permit and I believe that’s illegal. I feel sorry for the owner…….. but maybe this is all acceptable. 🤷🏽‍♀️ And people are just Braiding for money no real talent here.

Braids lasted less then a week $205 for braids that lasted less then a week is crazy. Never again. And then they tried to blame the hair, no I could understand you guys when you were talking, none of you knew what you were doing after telling me you did. I should have gotten up then and left but I’m a dummy and wanted to trust the process. Then when I complained you gave me two days to come back and I had to come at a certain time. I work and said that and got a oh well. My hair didn’t need a few braids replaced the whole head was a mess.

I called them the day before to ask for an 10 AM appointment however when I arrived the the day of I didn’t even get seen until almost 45 mins after. Then I had to sit there while they yanked my head to blow dry it and then proceed to leave me sitting there without a word for 30 more minutes to go braid someone else’s hair. Thankfully after an hour and a half of waiting they finally started braiding, but I didn’t even get the style that I wanted. I was given small boho knotless mid back length when I requested a medium knotless boho bob. The only saving grace is that the hair looks good but, for almost $300 this experience was not worth it

I have came here twice before and the first time my hair looked nice. But when I came to get just two braids they were HORRIBLE. Braids was crooked, the lady who did my hair used way to much gel, and I couldn't even keep the hair in for a week because it gave me an allergic reaction. Both times I've came here they were ruff with my hair and the vibe was just off. This place is a hazard, there were literally ants on the floor whilst she was braiding my hair. 0/10!
