Melanie was amazing. She did a fantastic job for me today and at the same time provided exceptional service to a straight up crack head. This lady was clearly on drugs wanted a perm had very Damage chemically treated hair. Melanie told her that due to the chemical damage that a perm likely wouldn’t hold yet this crackhead demanded it anyway. She went ahead and put in her perm, and while the timer was on, proceeded with my amazing Haircut. She paused during my hair to promptly, responded to the timer right away and rinsed her hair and did part two of the perm, she did all of the things for the lady that was clearly on drugs. She finished my haircut. I left the salon I went home, which took me about 15 mins. I realized I left my phone at the salon so I had to go back. I got back to the salon to witness the crackhead lady flipping out. She was screaming, yelling, throwing her arms. I grabbed my phone. I asked Melanie if she was OK. she didn’t tell me what was going on, just said that the lady wasn’t happy because her hair didn’t hold. She offered to cut off the bottom part that didn’t hold the curl, the lady excepted, and then lost her mind again. I Ended up going to the Walmart staff and asking them to call some sort of security because I was worried about Melanie’s well-being. I sincerely hope this woman doesn’t cause issues for her because Melanie went above and beyond for all of her clients today. I arrived for my appointment at 2:15. My appointment was at 2:30 and I was seated at almost 3pm. I saw at least eight people walk into that salon and get help from her in the 45 minutes, most buying products. I was there before the crackhead woman was seated. Melanie didn’t do anything wrong. She was incredible and she held her poise like any professional would. Thank you Melanie for the amazing haircut and I’m sorry you had a really bad day. If that lady causes any issues for you, please feel free to look up my information in your system and have your corporate call me. I got you girl!

My granddaughter went yesterday 2 29 24 and the lady looked like she did not care she took not even 5 min cut the bottom of her hair did not get it wet or even see if was even waste of time there my granddaughter was so up set she feels 24.00 for this was a rip off when we went back she did not care i will never tell anyone to go there ever she should not cut hair

I have never been to SmartStyle and I saw Melanie this morning and she did a great job. I showed her a reference picture and she nailed it! It was such a relaxing haircut, she had great conversation, and she has such a calming presence. Will definitely be back and found my new hair stylist! Thank you Melanie ❤️

I made an appointment for 1/21/2023 at 10:00 with Connie at the Walmart store on Bell Road I was there about 7-8 minutes early 10 minutes past and nobody came to open, now it’s 11:00 and still nobody so I left Continued to call but no answer, went over at 2:00 and THEY WERE STILL CLOSED IF YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT THEN SHOW UP FOR IT I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND IF THATS THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS THEN THEY DONT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS Recently spoke with Connie She was upset by my review My review stands She yelled at me stating she was sick, then her mother was sick, then she works 6 days a week, then she has a life, well which one is it? When I was waiting originally for my appointment to take place on the 21st of January, I asked a Walmart employee if she knew that this particular salon closes at a whim and she replied yes. They will never get my business. Very unprofessional to say the least.

The hair cutting service is terrible and one of the worst in Phoenix. My wife cut her hair today and her cut had nothing to do with the image she had as a sample from anywhere. A shapeless cut without scale and without style, if they do not have trained personnel, they should not provide that service. 0 stars for you.

I normally don't go to salons at this type of location, but Marc was highly recommended. He is absolutely wonderful! As a new client, he sat & listened to what I wanted, & asked questions to make sure that he understood what I was thinking. I have naturally curly 3b hair & am very particular on who cuts my hair & the products I use. Marc did a fabulous job. He has gained another regular client.

I took my boys and I to get a hair cut. Her name was Melanie I believe. I asked her for a little boys hair cut. She goes and shaves the entire side of his head. I had to stop her she was about to shave the whole thing. That’s not a little boys cut. I wanted to get a trim to get some split ends off. I showed her a picture. I don’t know what she had in her head but I didn’t ask for bangs and she fully gave me bangs. Well, if you call it bangs my hair is so botched up that I have to now cut my hair really short. Nothing is even. It looks like I have a mullet on head. I am unbelievably upset. She needs to be fired. I thought a simple trim wouldn’t be hard for anyone to do. Do not go here unless you want a mullet or a buzzed head.

I’ve made an appointment twice at this salon and each time the salon was not open when I arrived for service. I had a 10am appointment today. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt, I waited until 11:15 and the salon still wasn’t open. Mind you…they open at 9am. There will not be a third time.

My hairstylist was MARC. He's so talented and very nice with children. I did enjoy watching how he worked w/3 year old boy while I was waiting. The child was smiling all the time and Marc was entertaining the child. He did a fantastic job w/my haircut & highlights. I found my hairstylist finally! Thanks to SmartStyle Hair Salon for hiring him!

Had appointment for 2 pm. One stylist finishing a woman's hair. Finished at 2:15. Stylist just kept talking to customer without working. Finally left at 2:30. Terrible service. Sad for her cause I'm a BIG tipper.

This was a fantastic first time experience for me! The haircuts are excellent, and the staff is courteous and competent. The rates were very fair, and it was budget-friendly. I've had some of the best haircuts I've ever had. I'll be returning to this location on a regular basis. All should read it! Service that is both fast and effective.

You cannot call yourself a hairdresser if you don’t know how to do all types of hair. I came in to get my hair straightened and trimmed. The lady told me “She didn’t know how to do my hair type” mind you I came with my hair blow dried. This is very unacceptable!
