Mark immeditately put me at ease on my first visit. He corrected a bad hair cut and color from another salon and gave me gorgeous balayage and a beautiful haircut. He is an experienced artist and knows what to do. I’ll be back!

After moving back to Austin this past summer, I knew it was time to find a new hairstylist, and a close friend of mine recommended Smooshine. I had an appointment with Master Cam, and he did an amazing job helping me refine my vision. I wanted to maintain my length but redefine my layers, and Cam nailed it. He also took the time to walk me through each step of the process, explaining what he was doing and why—something I’ve never experienced before, and I really appreciated it. As a bonus, I mentioned that I had my birthday dinner the next day, and Cam kindly offered to curl my hair so the style would last overnight. The entire experience at Smooshine was fantastic—professional, welcoming, and top-notch. I’ll definitely be back!

Cam is most definitely an artist! I had super long hair & he molded & sculpted it perfectly with long layers just like I asked. He took his time & listened to what I wanted & I am beyond happy with the results! I finally found my hairstylist!

First time going to the salon for a haircut and had a great experience with mark. I have curly hair and wanted more shape and volume to my hair and that’s exactly what I received. I spontaneously decided to come to this salon and was pleasantly surprised with how skilled and knowledgeable mark seemed to be with curly hair. I’m obsessed with how it came out and would recommend!

I came in for long face-framing layers and curtain bangs, with a reference photo too. Sam was very friendly, but the result didn’t meet my expectations. His blowout technique left my hair flat instead of voluminous, and he clipped off my baby hairs without asking, leaving me with choppy strands just sticking out of my forehead. I thought it would be fine if I let it grow out but it’s very obvious I have 3 pieces of hair just sticking up into the sky at all times hahaha. My friends chuckled at how silly my hair looks. I regret spending that much money for less-than-stellar results :(

I made an appointment with Sam to help me freshen up my layers while cutting off some considerable length. I had been looking for a hairstylist for a while, since I moved from Houston. Sam specializes in Asian hair, and he had some great suggestions on delivering the style I wanted. I have straight, sleek hair that’s hard to achieve volume, and he was considerate of how I could style my hair that doesn’t require a lot of product or work. At the end, he continued to style my hair to show me that I can achieve a really voluminous, bouncy blowout. The booking process was also very simple on their website, and it was easy to communicate with him via text before the appointment. I’ll be continuing to see him and will consider hair coloring in the future.

I’ve seen Master Cam several times now and he’s an amazing colorist, especially for people with dark hair. I always just show him a photo of a color I want to do and it gets done, within reason of course :) for example I had red hair previously done by him and wanted to go ash beige, its not exactly the same but I think it looks amazing!! I also got a haircut and it came out exactly how I wanted it
