I feel like I’ve been to so many salons and this is by far the best! I was immediately greeted with such warm personalities. Shelby was attentive, down to earth and just overall really pleasant to be around. This salon is definitely packing some skill. 30000% recommend.

I absolutely LOVE Shelby. I've been going to her for years. Even after moving out of state, I still exclusively go to her when I'm in town. She's incredibly talented and I trust her with my hair. I typically get a balayage, tone, Malibu treatment, conditioning treatment, and cut/style. Since I only get my hair done every 6-12 months, Shelby also suggested adding a colored gloss to mitigate any harsh lines from grow out and it works like a charm. I have very thick, long, curly hair -- and a lot of it -- so I'm not the easiest client, but she's still so quick and efficient without sacrificing quality. I also hired her for my wedding. I didn't know exactly what I wanted with the exception of not a full up-do. She suggested the cutest unique braid and it stayed well all night. Given the size of my bridal party, she brought her co-owner, Tabitha, and all of the girls' hair styles looked amazing (and we were all done to stick to our time schedule). The salon itself is really cute, well-kept, and is stocked with the latest and greatest tech. The owners are nothing short of professional and talented. Highly recommend!

I could not be happier with my experience at Smudge salon. First, I instantly felt welcome when I walked in the door. Tabby was so kind and friendly and I felt like I have been getting my hair cut by her for years. Not to mention I love my hair cut! Tabby & I talked through what I wanted and she executed it perfectly! Thank you thank you thank you! I can’t wait to go back.

Smudge Salon is the real deal. I wandered in with a (self-inflicted) hair crisis, and Tabby instantly put me at ease. She quickly devised a plan, and after two visits, the results were just what I wanted. Tabby is incredible talented, and her kindness and sense of humor were a bonus! The salon itself is a gorgeous, relaxing space. The decor is beautiful, and the space offers a calming, quiet vibe that is often hard to find at a salon. They also offer "Silent Appointments", meaning guests can choose this option and enjoy their time without chatting or small talk. As an introvert, I so appreciate this option being offered and hope other businesses in the area will follow suit! 15/10 recommend Smudge!! :-)

I love Smudge Salon! Shelby is incredibly kind and professional. She takes great pride in her work and is always attentive and respectful of my hair needs and wants while recommending new things she thinks might be flattering for me. The salon is an oasis of calm and appointments are always on time. If I need to change an appointment, Shelby does everything possible to accommodate my schedule.

Absolutely adorable inside. Very clean, trendy, and comfortable. Both the owners are kind and welcoming. They offer all the options you would want for your hair. Prices are good, especially for a location so close to down! This a gem for this area and absolutely worth becoming a client!

I have been seeing Shelby for years and am so glad she was able to open a salon of her own. She's the only one I trust with my hair, my husband gets his curls cut by her and our 3y old son sees her now too! She is always on time, always does a great job and makes my kiddo super comfortable too. And now given the pandemic, she is taking all necessary precautions to keep her clients and staff safe. Love supporting this local business!

Smudge is such a cute salon and has great vibes ✨ The stylist I was seeing moved out of town and referred me to Tabby and I’m SO happy she did. Tabby was incredibly easy to work with - she was communicative during booking, got me in for my appointment sooner than I expected, and I loved my hair when I left! I ended up doing a gloss and a cut and it’s perfect. Parking is free (yay!), either on the street or in a small dedicated lot in front of the salon. Their pricing is really good, too! This will be my go to salon going forward.

First time customer to Tabby and Smudge Salon. I really like the location because you get "downtown Indy" quality hair styling minus the parking costs and hassle. I got a balayage and cut and I am IMPRESSED! Tabby asked all the right questions and was very informative on each step. Her experience shows with her work and I am so very happy with my results. The environment was beautiful, laid back, and comfortable. I will definitely be a long time customer! Thanks again Shelby and Tabby for an amazing experience!

Shelby took my quarantine mop hair and transformed it into a fresh cut that I'm so happy with! The salon is beyond cute and their experience is apparent through their skill and professionalism. By far the best salon experience I have had - I highly recommend Smudge!
