Dr. Sammie truly has magic hands! I ended up at her salon after a curly hair specialist I had planned to visit in Redwood City was a no-show. Desperate for a cut, I searched online and called Dr. Sammie. She told me to come on in, saying, “I gotchu,” and she absolutely delivered. I have incredibly curly hair and don’t trust just anyone to cut it, so I was nervous at first. But watching her work with such ease and skill—it was clear she knew exactly what she was doing. Dr. Sammie has been cutting hair for over 30 years, and her expertise really showed. She handled my curls beautifully, giving me exactly the cut I wanted. It’s not about the type of hair you have—it’s about the stylist’s skills, and Dr. Sammie’s are unmatched. She washed, cut, and styled my hair at a great price, all while making me feel at ease. It just so happened to be my birthday, and she made the experience even more special with her humor, attentiveness, and amazing energy. I even learned a little Chinese during my visit! When she was done, I left feeling lighter, freer, and most importantly, confident. My curls looked amazing, and I couldn’t stop smiling. Her scissor work is so quick and precise—I was in and out in no time. If you have curly hair and need someone who knows how to handle it, I highly recommend Dr. Sammie. Her skills, honesty, and great vibes make her a true gem!

Amazing cuts, service, and price! I came in for a very overdue haircut and I showed Winnie two celebrity pictures for inspo and told her what I was going for and she knew exactly what to do. She is an expert with curly hair. It turned out better than I even had in mind. Highly recommend!

Winnie did an awesome job with my haircut! She explained all my options before the cut, which was super helpful in narrowing down what I actually wanted. She then walked me through the whole process of what she was doing and why she was doing it during the cut + wash. She even explained how to care for my hair. The layers and curls turned out gorgeous, and left my hair feeling full- such a great experience! Will definitely come back here for future hair cuts and color 🙂

I highly recommend booking your next haircut appointment with Sammie. She's friendly and very experienced (30+ years). I have curly, coarse hair, so I was a bit nervous since it was my first visit. However, that feeling was short-lived once I met Sammie. She is a great stylist. I was in and out, and the price was great!

I was blown away! Sammie was incredibly thorough, fast, and knew exactly what to do with my haircut, even though I was there for the first time and only briefly described what I wanted and showed her 1 picture. I had received bad haircuts the previous two times that I visited a salon. The stylists had shaved my hair too far up/to the right of my head, so I told Sammie that I wanted to move my hairline and grow out the hair that shouldn't have been cut. She knew to give me a fade even before I asked, because it would help blend the short growing-out hair better. She also knew how I wanted the rest of my hair to fall, and she layered and thinned it perfectly. You can tell that she takes a lot of pride in her work and knows exactly what she's doing from years and years of experience. From start to finish the haircut took less than half an hour, and the price is right too! I'm going to be coming back for sure.

I came into Snip and curl on a whim because I traveled to sf from a small town that doesnt have a hairstylist for miles. I usually dont just go into random salons because i’ve had bad experiences before. HOWEVER this was not the case. Winnie made me feel right at home and i was very comfortable with my hair in her hands. If youre in SF and you want a great haircut come here. Also it was very affordable for city standards. Definitely will come back again! =D

Sammie was amazing!! I went in for a walk-in and was able to get my hair cut immediately. I told her vaguely what I wanted and left the rest up to her and she did an amazing job on my curly hair! My hair had been thinning and losing shape and she totally fixed that for me. She was also really funny and sweet! It was $65 which I think is super reasonable for a curly cut in SF. I will definitely be going back :)

One of the best in the industry. Hidden in plain sight on Polk street, this little spot is a gem. Winnie is super sweet and does a superb job. Fast, dry cuts that makes you look like you spent hours on your hair. This has become my go to for the past year. Thank you, Winnie!!

Sami is my hair doctor… thee hair doctor! and I’m grateful to have found her. I started going there over a year ago but recently was convinced to join a friend to get my haircut elsewhere. Huge mistake! I went back to Sami within the week to fix the mess. She knows hair and transformed a terrible cut into a style I’m happy with. She’s a pleasure to visit, walk-ins are welcomed, and the prices can’t be beat. I recommend her to everyone!

LOVE Snip 2 Curl! I did a walk-in hair cut to add layers and bangs. This place is lovely and clean- they clearly were busy with a mix of loyal customers and new clients. Sammie did a wonderful job freeing my curls. She carefully explained each technique and was very accommodating. My hair is no longer tangled and dull. The cut make my waves curlier and bouncier, with more dynamic movement. Here is a picture with NO product. Excited to try styling it soon! Will be back.

The owner, Winnie, is the most talented hair professional I have ever worked with. She has a knack for framing your face and nailing the right cut. She also does facial waxes. Prices are extremely reasonable. Winnie is a patient listener and will work with you to make you feel beautiful.

Went to Winnie for a female long hair cut and style. So happy with the results and complete experience. Highly recommend for blowouts, trims, cuts, and coloring. My coworker has gone here for 10 yrs. This was my first time and am so pleased. For a female cut and style I paid $65 before tip. My hair didn't need a dramatic amount of attention but was definitely dry and unhealthy. Winnie cleaned me up. Please take that into consideration as I'm sure the pricing varies on needs.
