My partner and I booked a session here for $180. Because of snow and cancelled school days we were unable to make it to our appointment. I called several times to see if we could reschedule, but got no answer. When I finally did get ahold of someone, they told me that they could not reschedule our appointment because it was after our appointment time. They also said that their phone doesn't ring and they expect people to leave a message. I understand that they have a policy about rescheduling after the appointment time, but extreme circumstances should be an exception. For their inflexibility during inclement weather Soak on the Sound gets one star.

Wow, what a great idea. My wife and I enjoyed the soak and sauna room. Nice to have a private room to relax and treat ourselves. Also recommend getting the salt balm and a cider while you’re there. Additionally, the cashmere clothes for sale are very reasonably priced.

A must try! So relaxing and soothing, felt super relaxed after our 1 hour hot tub room. Super serene and if you’re looking for something to do while in port Townsend or an independent or couple activity this is great. They have beer/cider available for purchase! It’s all a private room with a certain Max for each.

Lovely, relaxing experience. The only downside for me is that, despite what they tell you, they DO use chlorine. You can smell it on your hands for hours after a soak.

Great soak

My wife and I had the suit room with sauna and hot tub. Overall it was amazing. Tub is great and hot and feels amazing. Same with sauna. They only have one lounge chair in there so going as a couple you can’t sit together which is a bummer. And that chair is pretty cheap so someone who is on the bigger size definitely can’t sit in it. So me being a bigger guy had no where to sit outside the sauna and tub. Also there is a window in the room to open for cool air. Which we tried. I had to use all my strength to open and close it. When I finally did get it open all they have covering the window is two little plants. I could see the whole outside deck where people are. So I closed it immediately so they didn’t see us. You can see right through the plants. Overall tho was good. Don’t know if it was worth the $200 price tag. Will probably just try the hot tub room next.

Great experience, very relaxing. We will definitely go again. I wish they had massages, then it would be perfection.

Likely the best spa on the Olympic peninsula. We were so impressed with how they hopped right on all the changes needed to stay open in the pandemic. Gorgeous atmosphere and immaculately clean. Highly recommend! We go every other week for the 10 weeks of darkness.

Booked a 90 minute soak in the largest room. Went yesterday. There are a lot of rules and requirements. Most of those I found very reasonable and understandable. The one that I personally found bothersome was the requirement to only whisper for the entire time that we were in our soaking tub room. I understand not being loud or raucous, but I clarified with the employee, and she confirmed that we were not allowed to speak to each other in our normal tone of voice for the entire time that we were in our soaking room. This seemed annoying and excessively strict to me. We had tipped 20%, brought our own robes and inside-only, waterproof flip flops, bought drinks from them, and booked the largest tub for the longest time. Our total came to over 200 dollars. It wasn't the worst experience of my life, the soak felt nice, but having to whisper the entire time got really old really fast. We left after one hour, including changing. Even though we had booked and paid for an hour and a half soak. The atmosphere felt super strict overall. It felt like a super strict boss nagging and micromanaging every detail of new employees. We're not employees, we're paying customers. Ridiculous. We didn't ask for a refund or anything, even a partial refund. We just wanted to leave early. I will say that in the few hours following our soak, despite the whispering only requirement preventing full relaxation (for me personally, others may feel differently about this), I did feel a noticeably positive effect on my vibe - I felt extremely chill, which I am not really normally. So that's a plus. We won't be back, but I don't feel that it was entirely a waste of our time and money. Just maybe not the very best use of it. Jade L.

I was very excited to be able to budget for a soak since I had not been in a while, and invited a friend along from out of town. We were told a bell would sound when our time is almost up so we can change. At the end of our visit we heard some knocking. In the past they used to knock so I thought to myself they just have forgotten to ring the bell (since neither of us heard anything). Didn’t think much of it. Got up to shower and change when the employee starts violently beating on the door telling us we need to exit IMMEDIATELY! I am thinking maybe there is an emergency or we somehow stayed over our time. I didn’t even finish putting everything back on and went to go speak to the employee to see what was wrong. She then reprimanded us like children. It felt very confrontational and she said us staying over our time was not good for her and not good for her boss and we can’t do that. I was confused because I didn’t see a clock in the room (which also seems like an easy fix?) and they do not provide robes….if they did, I would have thrown a robe on to see why she was knocking. But I am not interested in a stranger seeing me nude in a towel. I profusely apologized and even offered to pay extra for the time. The employee was very defense at first, then tried to recover the situation…but at that point it was too late. I came here to decompress and the ending of the soak completely spiked both of our anxiety, made us feel embarrassed and condescended. I don’t want to say it ruined my night but definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and won’t be returning.

This was a lovely experience soaking in the 103 degree water. It was hot but not so hot that your skin felt burned as you stepped in. Something I didn't realize until I was sitting in the tub, but this is NOT a jacuzzi tub with nozzles of water to massage you. This is a soaking tub, and there was only one jet in the Ripple room where the water flowed back into the tub. Unfortunately, it was below the intake for the water, so I had to be careful my back didn't block the intake or it made noise. I was a little worried that the sound of the music would be too loud, but it was actually so soft in the background that I could barely hear it. It was a relaxing instrumental music faintly playing in the background. A few tips to help your experience: - You pay before you use the tub, and the machine asks you to tip 10% and on up. If you buy a drink, the tip would go on top of that too. - you need to shower before you enter the tub so you don't get any lotions or creams in the water. The shower is in the room with bath gel. - You get a 50 minute session and at 40 minutes after, the bell rings signaling you to get out and to change. - Bring flip flops if you want. You will need to take off your outdoor shoes at the bench when you walk in. A hair tie or something to keep long hair out of the water is helpful. A comb is nice too. There was a small mirror in the room. - A bench and hooks to keep your things off the ground - They do give you a big towel. I saw reviews about how tiny the towel is, so I came prepared with my own towel, but the towel they give you is a standard bath size. - The two bathrooms are outside in the lobby, so go before you go into your room. - They offer you a big plastic cup of water, and there are other drinks you can buy - Open your window before you get in. You do get really hot in the water, and the cool air will be needed. I was getting a bit lightheaded at times. - The step over the tub rim and into the tub is a big one. There is a rubber mat at the bottom to give you traction and a hand rail on the wall which were super helpful. - After you are dressed, sit outside on the back deck to cool down. Overall, it was a good experience and July in Port Townsend when it was in the high 60's and 70's, this was still a good activity to do if your hotel does not have a bathtub.

Took my girlfriend as a birthday gift. So relaxing and wonderful! Very clean, friendly staff. I recommend the sauna and soak suite.

Yeah. That was nice! Very clean, had a nearly last minute spot available, very friendly. The infrared sauna is very helpful for neutralizing a spell of acute chronic pain. My weekend has been improved significantly after 45 minutes in the sauna. I am full of gratitude.

A beautiful facility with top notch staff and amenities. I cannot recommend enough for a relaxing and healing self care experience. And definitely add on their after soak serum to your experience; it’s heavenly.

My husband and I had a very nice and relaxing experience here. I think we misunderstood the timing a little bit, because we arrived on time, but were given a 10 minute warning after 40 minutes. I understand though that is probably putting in place time to give them 10 minutes to clean the rooms between visitors. Regardless, the staff and facilities were excellent, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back again!
