10/10 Service by Salem! My partner and I both loved our cut and appreciated how nice he was! I'll definitely be coming back to get some color done by him, he was very informative and made me feel so comfortable that I found myself dozing off in his chair lmao. As someone with curly hair, I would recommend him to anyone who wants some help with their curl care <3

I had my hair cut by Meg and it was a great experience! She was caring, attentive, and really kind. My haircut was great - it's been two days and I've gotten a bunch of positive comments already. 10/10, would recommend!

Salem is the worst hair stylist I have ever been to. he ruined my facial hair and cut my hair way shorter than I asked for. Re: the shop’s pissy response: To protect my privacy as a trans person, I wouldn’t use my real name in a Google Review, so obviously you couldn’t find my booking receipt. The point is that he doesn’t do facial hair work, so why was he touching mine…… would not recommend for POC

Can't say enough about Meg the barber! She's been cutting my hair for about 10 years now and I followed her from Supercuts to her new home here on Lincoln Avenue. So fun to talk to as well while you get the best haircut you will ever have. She's great at consulting and has great vision. You'll never go back to your old barber after Meg!

Worth the drive! Drove an hour to get my first mullet cut with Salem a couple months ago and he was the best! Felt so comfortable and the vibes were perfect! He knows what he’s doing when cutting curly hair, my hair has grown out nicely and will definitely be coming back soon!

I went to society for about a year now. I absolutely loved Meg and can not recommend her enough! Only reason I am not staying with her is because I am leaving the area :(

I've had my hair cut by both Eve and Meg, and I love the whole experience of society barbershop! I always feel like I get a great cut at a really good price, and it feels so welcoming and like a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community.

Absolutely fell in love with this place from the moment I walked in. Eve and Megan are so cool and have always treated me with respect and kindness. The shop is beautiful and is clearly a safe space for anyone. Eve and Megan genuinely care about the work that they are doing and take time with their customers, not rushing through their clients. Thank you to Eve for accommodating me even after the shop closed just to make sure I was happy with my hair. It means the world to me. This place really is the best!

Been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Eve is super chill and fun to talk to but also picks up on when a conversation is over instead of trying to make awkward small talk. She has a great eye for detail and also has no issues with customers who have scalp psoriasis, which can't be said for all hairstylists and barbers. Definitely recommend coming here and I always look forward to my next cut.

Eve! Eve! She is kind, and a BRILLIANT barber!! I have tons of swirls and different curl textures throughout my head, asked her for a masculine style, and she absolutely nailed it! The most intuitive haircut I have ever had. I'm so so happy to have found her and her comfy shop with perfect queer-friendly vibes.

I went to see Eve for the first time today and I'm so happy I did! I went in to get my side shave touched up and left looking and feeling great. I found Eve by googling "queer barber shop San Jose" so I could try and find a place I'd be comfortable asking for what I want with my hair and wasn't disappointed. I highly recommend Society Barbershop for anyone looking for a chill place with a great vibe and friendly faces.

One of the best haircuts I’ve had. I wear my hair long and often times it gets cut too short. Eve knew how to handle my curls and left me with the perfect length.

Megan was perfect! I had been spending almost 2x as much at a salon on Santana Row. Megan gave me exactly was I was looking for and even a beer!
