Found Society Salon coming out of the pandemic when my hair needed a lot of TLC and I needed to find a salon in LA. Nato is amazing to have as my hair person, for cuts/making my hair look and stay healthy and color, particularly on my journey from dark brunette with violet to “as red as possible without bleach.” Nato’s a gem.

OHHH MY GAWD - DREAM HAIR UNLOCKED! Jen De Sauza gave me the color I was born with decades ago but have long struggled to recreate. My medium blonde hair has a natural red undertone and Jen carefully lifted me with perfectly placed highlights, a root shadow, an icy toner and a gloss to get me to that magic place I thought was impossible to create. The grow out is flawlessly blended and I’m able to go long periods (4 months!) between touch ups. She’s super, mega, majorly gifted with blondes and just an absolute joy to talk to. If you’re lucky and open she might even read your aura when you are in her chair :) I searched for over 5 years in LA to find a salon with the best stylists and colorists and the short list of places who do both exceptionally well is ONE: SOCIETY SALON! See Jonathan James for your style vision. My hair is on the thinner side and gets fussy under a straight razor. Jonathan was able to carve my textured hair into a gorgeous wolf cut using only scissors with absolute perfection. I’m moving back to NorCal in the Spring and I will abbbbbsolutely be making regular trips back to this dream team to tend to my locks. There’s no one in the Bay Area that can do what they do. Once you experience that “hot damn I love my hair” feeling there’s just no going back to haircuts and color that don’t WOW. Jen and Jonathan are elite creative collaborators and just so much fun to play with. The vibes are IMMACULATE when you are in their hands!!

This place is amazing! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming especially Joe and Hannah. Hannah cut and styled my hair and it was literally perfect. I have curly hair so it's hard to find someone who knows how to work with it in a way that makes the curls look great while still keeping a complimenting hair style and she knew exactly what she was doing. On top of that she gave me a bunch of hair care tips to do at home. It's great here a ten out of ten definitely recommend!

I don’t colour my hair but I care a lot about cut and treatment. I want my hair to look as healthy as possible! Jonathan absolutely killed it! Since the beginning he was super nice and friendly and made me feel comfortable. I was nervous because my wedding is in 7 days and I didn’t want the haircut to be too short or too rough. Jonathan listened to everything I said and made a plan to accomplish exactly what I needed. He got me a treatment that made my hair super shiny and silky and cut the minimum hair length so I can keep it growing! This place is so welcoming and friendly I can’t recommend it more!

Amél is amazing! She knows what she is doing. Amèl was able to transform my hair without damaging. I love, love my highlights Society Salon staff were all welcoming and fun. I highly recommend this place and of course Amèl.

I’m so glad I came here. I had a wonderful experience getting my 2 tone color done with Garret. He was so sweet, gentle, and hardworking. He updated me throughout the process and kept a friendly, upbeat vibe while staying focused on my hair. I also felt comfortable to just quietly close my eyes sometimes. Garret made me feel very taken care of, and I love my partial blonde hair! I highly recommend him for your color needs :) Overall, Society is very inviting, accommodating, and also has a great selection of products.

They had so many complaints they require $600 payment in advance - "on hold." Charged my client $600 after refusing the appt. Reported Jillian and owner to district atty for fraud.

This was my second time getting my blonde hair done with Jen and I couldn’t be happier! My hair is now healthier than it’s been in years. The tone is so natural looking and blends nicely at the root so I don’t have a root line. She also gave me a cute haircut and blow out:) So relieved to finally find a great blonde stylist!! Also, love Society, the staff is amazing, good vibes, yummy drinks and top notch products💁🏼‍♀️

First time visiting Society, let alone my first hair cut/color in California, and I had a really great experience. Anthony handled highlights masterfully after 5+ months on the road with no maintenance done, and Johnathon did the cut and blow out. I just showed them a few photos of when I’ve really loved how my hair looked in the past, and they nailed it. They were also extremely personable, easy and FUN to talk to. I’m still on roadtrip so I am not sure how soon I’ll be back but if and when I come back to LA, I will definitely ask for them again. Highly recommend!

Genuinely the best haircut experience I’ve ever had! Jacob was super helpful, patient, and knowledgeable — and of course, gave an amazing haircut. I was transitioning from long men’s hair back to short hair & Jacob helped me get to the exact style I was looking for and spent time walking me through product recommendations and tips on how to maintain it. Can’t thank him enough!! Will definitely be back here next time I’m in LA.

I drove in from San Diego and this place was absolutely worth the drive. Anthony was amazing, staff was attentive and the Salon itself has a welcoming atmosphere. Lots of amazing shops nearby to really pamper yourself

I had the best most comfortable experience at Society hair salon up upon I Was greeted by the front desk, staff with such warmth and acceptance. I arrived 30 minutes earlier than my appointment and was accommodated. I barely Tim, what I wanted and he got me exactly what I wanted above and beyond. I will definitely be a regular here.

Oh my stars! What a remarkable "little" salon! I've never dyed my hair so I was incredibly nervous but luckily I had the pleasure of booking an appointment with Garret. Garret spent time with me before the appointment to go over all my concerns and really eased my nerves. I have really thick, wavy, dark brown hair and I wanted to bleach and go blonde to silver. Speaking with him beforehand really made me feel comfortable and taken care of. During the process, he kept me up to speed on what exactly he was doing with my hair, but other than that, he knew how to hold a conversation anytime I engaged and knew when to just chill which was such a nice balance. Garret was thorough and repeatedly checked the lifting process was going swimmingly and touching any needed areas a long the way. At one point as we waited for the bleach to set and work its magic, he talked to me about maintenance and "do's and don't's" to ensure my hair would stay healthy, hydrated and the color to last as long as possible. We went over products both sold in and outside the salon that he recommended. I went ahe and walked out with a few products, Olaplex shampoo and an OI conditioner. The salon itself was a vibe. I was warmly welcomed by Isabella who also made me a lovely americano served with love and tiny cookies. All staff was friendly, made eye contact and gave a warm smile and/or "hello." Hearing the conversations of the other clients speaking to their hair stylist/colorist really showed me the personalized connection and service that they all have. I would definitely recommend this place to new timers or perhaps for those looking for a new spot :)

Absolutely beautiful from the moment I walked in the staff were lovely, it was a very hot day so they got me a water and made sure I was comfortable. My stylist was lovely and did an amazing job on my hair. I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted but she saw a vision and completed it perfectly. Would definitely go back again

Came in for a new color refresh and Amel gave me exactly what I was looking for! She nailed the vision and revitalized my hair! To top it off Benjamin gave me an incredible blow out! Will be coming back when my roots grow out.

I had a color and blowout with Benjamin and he did an amazing job with my hair. He was very mindful of my skin which is so important to me because I am extremely fair with black hair. You can just see from the photos that he really brought out the shine and texture of my naturally curl. He took his time and I didn’t feel rushed like just another client but that he genuinely cared about my style.

My brother referred my husband to Jacob Simon and I’m glad he did! He had a haircut and beard trim. We’ve tried 3 other people at 3 different salons but not of them understood what he was looking for until we met Jacob! He’s truly a talent, kind, thoughtful and meticulous. I love my hair color! I came in needing a routine touch up and Tim blended it all perfectly! I was able to get an appointment pretty quick and everyone is really nice. Highly recommend!

Willie is the best!!! Completely transformed my hair!! I came in for a color correction (I literally had orange hair from trying to lighten it myself) and he was able to turn it into the hair of my dreams!! Obsessed!

I only trust Jillian to do my hair as I think she’s the best colorist and I always feel my best when I leave Society. The vibe is really calming and chill so I do look forward to my next visit.

I was planning a trip to LA and thought it would be fun to get a fancy haircut while visiting. I did a lot of research, and decided on Society. The experience of an LA salon was a step up from home... I felt extra- pampered and taken care of! Noey at the appointment desk paired me with Jonathan for a cut and Jillian for color. They both took the time to listen to my ideas, provide their own feedback, and then they did their thing. They were both so nice and chill, AND really knew their craft. I left feeling like a movie star. I will absolutely have to time my haircuts with LA travel from now on. Thanks again!

I am shocked at the way I have been treated by this salon. Don’t ever go there! The staff is so rude disrespectful and discriminating. I wasn’t happy with my color and every salon in the world would want their clients to leave the salon happy but not this place. I had to beg them to fix it when they were supposed to offer to fix it for me. After chasing them for a fix which they were supposed to offer me, they didn’t even fix it. I was rushed by the colorist in the middle of the service to wash off the highlights she had started. The anxiety and stress these people caused me is beyond any measures. On top of that I wasn’t offered a refund - if your customer is unhappy and you have failed to fix the issue and find a solution you’re supposed to refund them!!! Every single good salon in the world would offer that, it’s the minimum you can do. After that I was lied to that my complaint was passed on to the salon owner for a review of my refund request but this was never passed on to the owner and nobody has replied to my last few emails. It’s been many weeks now since my appointment - where is my money??? It’s illegal for a business not to have a proper complaint form. I asked many times for a complaint form but none was sent to me. Only lies. I demand that you give me my money back. You are practicing illegally - a complaint form is mandatory for every registered business. You’re also not authorized to keep my money. I do not give you authorization. I am still waiting for a resolution.

Tim is THE BEST. I came in for partial highlight (balayage), and he did such a gorgeous job. Plus, he is the kindest. Great experience. I will pledge my undying loyalty to that man, and will probably even fly back to LA to get my hair done here again in the future. Yes… it was that good. Picture is of my hair before receiving service and one day after services. Services were for partial highlight, toner/gloss (about $250 for those two), and I added a blowout ($85). I love it! Thanks, Tim and Society!
