This review is of the stylist, not the salon. That being said, I came from out of state to get starter locs from Jessica BrownHerron. Prior to meeting I asked her if I needed to do anything to my hair. She said just make sure no style is in it. Cool, so I take my braids out a day before the appt. She texted me around 9:44 to say she would be 10 min late. My appt was at 10. Nbd, except it turned into 20, which, I wasn’t trippin about cause I really wanted my hair done. Once she gets there she immediately wets my hair and shampoos it. Because she didn’t detangle my hair first, it matted up while she shampooed it. No conditioner but I think that’s how it has to be for starter locs but probably why it matted so fast. Anyways, as she’s separating my hair she informs me that my hair has “Loc’d up” in numerous places and she doesn’t detangle locs and would not have time to do my style. I didn’t know what to do so I just said ok. Went back to my car, cried because I’m 6 hours away and made this trip JUST for this, and spent the next half hour detangling my hair in the car. My hair hadn’t loc’d. I detangled it within 15 min, without product or tools. Why couldn’t she do that?? Anyways, she said she had 5 people after me and wouldn’t be able to see me later that day but if I decided to book with her again down the line she’d take $25 off. I feel like that was a slap in the face. I came out of state and you just played in my head and probably overbooked. I won’t be coming back. The 3 stars is because I don’t want the business to suffer too badly because of one stylist.

I went here once last year easy to find someone. This time wanted someone for a sew in. Took me over 30 minutes and still didn’t find anyone.
