Tina and her assistant Leah! I just want to extend a large appreciation and thank you to Tina for the gift she provided me with beautiful hair, planned ideas for future appts, the therapy session I needed and for understanding me. I can rest at ease knowing I am in the best hands in all ways and I am so excited for our customized hair journey! I can not wait for further visits. She is exactly what I needed and perfectly placed in my life at the time I needed it most. I was in tears by the time I got to my car of just pure happiness and peace with knowing I can now just settle and be content after the hair hell I have been through! I also love how honest she is and the education I received was more than I could have imagined receiving during my first session. I need that in my life! She is an absolute artist and I am thrilled to have found her. Thank you for taking me on as your new client! Leah thank you for all the wonderful communication you provide and being attentive! Tina is absolutely the best hairstylist I have been to in my life. She truly takes her artistry and craft seriously, and infuses it with her soul and heart. She is incredibly skilled, and has a brilliant eye for color and shape. She is also a warm, engaging and personable human with whom it is effortless to connect with. I came in interested in a lived in, natural and lower maintenance bronde, which she absolutely nailed. It looks and feels perfect. I am so grateful to have found Tina. The space is also stunning. Working with her assistant Leah over e-mail was very easy for scheduling - she was prompt, polite and very helpful. All in all this was a gem of an experience!

12 days before my appointment, that I have been waiting a month for, Tina requested to take that day off because it’s simply the holidays and she needs to reschedule. Her assistant texted an alternate date and because I briefly texted “that’s ok but please don’t push it back further” to approve the changed date Leah (her assistant) thought I was rude by saying that and apparently I was making demands by asking not to push it back again. And because of that Leah proceeded to cancel my appointments all together and requested Tina reach out to me personally based on my “character”. I was in shock! The holiday season can get crazy but wow! Anyway I waited for Tina to check out the issue and say there is no problem but on the contrary Tina doubled down and sent me a lengthy email saying that she must filter out negative people from her salon and implied I was one of them. Said I needed to treat her employee with much more respect but I still thought what I said was completely normal. So at this point I stepped back from her services and just sent a screenshot of the original text chain. It’s as though Tina had never read the texts at all and just trusted Leah’s word because Tina began making excuses. Saying “both parties were right and wrong” yes apparently I am still wrong. “We have different texting styles”… that it’s all just a huge misunderstanding and unfortunate. That for them there are no hard feelings and wished me all the best. So I just want to give future clients a heads up. Be aware of this salon and how sensitive the texting situation is. Proceed with caution because now I’m going into the new year without my hair looking good and they just consider it a little oooopppsie. Their concern isn’t for your happiness. In fact it’s leaning toward blatant disrespect and acting very unprofessionally. I’d simply rather support and be around actual kindness. This place isn’t about that in reality. Sorry Tina but what you did is wrong. Leah please apologize to me directly.

I cannot recommend Tina enough! Her expertise in blending color is unmatched…she has a true gift for creating a polished, natural look that feels timeless and classic. Every time I leave her chair, I feel confident and refreshed, knowing my hair looks effortlessly beautiful. Whether it’s subtle highlights, hiding my gray, or a full transformation (when she rescued my hair the first time) she nails it every time with her attention to detail and talent for creating seamless, gorgeous color with a cut sculpted to the color and your face shape. Tina is a true artist. She’s takes style and color to a new level. Particularly unique is her creativity towards both brunette and blonde balayage and color. I’ve seen her work for both. I’m a brunette and it’s really hard to find people to do balayage for brunettes. Tina’s application of highlights and dimension for brunettes is amazing. Her color, without brass, is meticulously placed according to the style, hair type and particular to each individual. She considers hair type and how the person styles their own hair. She has an awesome assistant who helps with scheduling and she is also an amazing person. It is a great pleasure to come to the appointments.

Tina is an artist! She treats my hair like a work of art and made it a masterpiece. I’ve always wanted to be a cool blonde, but other stylists never got me there. She did!! And it is stunning! I get compliments everywhere I go on my hair. Not only is her work fantastic, she is kind, accommodating, and so easy to work with. She always works with me to find the best option for my hair that’s cost effective and results in what I want. I’m so glad I found her! You’re amazing Tina and I’m so grateful <3 thank you!

Tina is an absolute artist for hair and I’ve been seeing her for a few years. I was looking for a stylist who could work with Asian hair and a friend recommended her salon, Soullovey. She customized my look, corrected previous work done by another stylist, and I was blown away by the result. The blonde balayage was stunning — so many compliments. After maintaining my blonde for a couple of years, I went to see her and I’m now feeling stunning as a multidimensional brunette 🤎

I couldn't be happier with my hair! The transformation that Tina has performed with my cut and color has been so needed. I could not figure out why I was feeling so washed out when I would put my hair down. It was so frustrating I basically wore my hair up all the time so I wouldn't have to deal with it. Tina took the time to re-educate me on the importance of a proper haircut and haircare, and just after one cut and color balancing session my hair looks amazing. Tina took into account my lifestyle with two kids and work, and she developed a strategy that would work with when I was able to schedule visits with her. My hair looked amazing up until my next appointment with her. It's never done that! Tine is a gem, a true artist and expert in color AND hair styling. This combination is so incredibly rare. I feel lucky to have found her and she's exactly what Portland needs!

I've never met a more passionate hair stylist! Tina started by assessing my hair and discussing what type of cut would best suit my day to day lifestyle, taking into consideration how much time I spend on my hair and how I wear on a daily basis. She gave me a wonderful cut that I loved more and more each day. My hair lays beautifully with lift, body and movement after just a simple wash and blow dry. Aside from being a talented hair stylist, Tina is such a wholesome, down to earth human being. We conversed about everything from career, art, and travel, to motherhood. I left feeling connected to another human being and with the most fabulous hair! 10/10 will be going back. Highly reccomend!

It’s been almost five months and my hair has grown in beautifully! Not that it needed to - Tina gave me the perfect, lived-in blonde balayage from my virgin black Asian hair. The whole experience was unlike any hair appointment I’ve had before. In Tina’s tranquil salon space, she lifted, toned and cut my hair in a few short hours. I’ve been stopped to ask about my hair by strangers. She’s the best.

Ive been seeing Tina for 7 years and I have never ever strayed! She is the best of the best. She’s so good and has my hair’s health in best interest but is always to try out my requests and ideas for coloring. I have naturally very curly hair and she always has me leaving with the glossiest color and smoothest blow out of my life! I’ve also never missed an appointment if that tells you how obsessed I am 😂

I typically don’t write reviews, but my experience was so positive I felt I had to. I’m newer to Oregon, and was nervous to find a new stylist, since I loved the one I had gone to for over a decade back home, and because I had a not so great experience with the last stylist I was going to when I moved here. After doing some research, I was drawn to Soullovey, so I booked my first appointment. I’m extremely happy I did, because Tina is AMAZING! She truly is a master at hair and balayage!! Although my stylist back home is talented, I never knew my hair could look (and feel) as good as it did after Tina worked her magic! Not only is Tina THE BEST when it comes to everything hair, she has a beautiful personality. I can’t wait to see Tina again!

Tina is a consummate professional colorist and stylist with genuine expertise and knowledge that can only be acquired when one has had extensive training, years of experience, and just innate artistry. This is not something that is easily or quickly gained, and this is a rare combination. I would also say that Tina is a great listener and understands what one is trying to achieve with their look, and is able to say openly and candidly (especially if subtle isn't working) if that look is doable, and more importantly, if it will look good on an individual. She can do all types of hair, and has exceptional knowledge of Asian hair. I highly recommend Tina - there are very few stylists with her skill in Portland, and I feel lucky to have found her.

Tina was amazing. After a string of really terrible hair experiences, I am so grateful to have found Tina. Everything, down to the scheduling process, was fantastic. I walked out feeling confident for the first time in a very very long time. She made me feel safe, comfortable and heard. Genuinely everything you'd want in a hair experience. For decades I was trying to find a stylist who understood what I wanted to achieve with my hair; for decades I came up short. In 2015, I met Tina and I’ve never turned back: she not only hears what I want to do with my hair, but observes my style and designs my hair to match. She is an artist - truly one in a million in terms of stylists. Not only is she exceedingly talented, she’s also just an amazing person who meets her clients where they are, and cares deeply about them. It is a pleasure to see her work, and I couldn’t recommend her more!

I don't typically write reviews but I had such a great experience that I just had to let others know how great Tina is! I have been in search of a stylist/colorist high and low for a number of years. In my past experience, no one would listen to what I wanted. It got to the point that I legitimately thought I was color blind because I would show a picture and it’d turn out completely different! I came in with terrible streaks (due to my own impatience before the appointment with Tina…don’t recommend since I created more work for Tina to fix…) and left with EXACTLY what I wanted, a beautiful, ashy color melt. She took the time to listen and asked detailed questions in order to nail the look that I wanted. I can tell she is extremely meticulous in her work and cares about her clients, not to mention the added bonus of how delightful she is to chat with (time flew by!) and as a person. She made me feel comfortable throughout the process. If you are in search of a stylist who is knowledgeable in dying dark hair, I highly recommend you give Tina a chance. Her portfolio speaks for itself. Thanks again Tina!

I visited Tina for the first time yesterday and confessed that I was feeling super blah about my hair’s color and cut after a few years of the same style/color. She took the time to thoroughly review what I was looking for specifically, asked for my feedback post-cut and tweaked accordingly, and refreshed both the cut and color of my hair to add back dimension and interest in a way I haven’t experienced in ages. I walked out of the studio feeling like a Hollywood star, and am so excited to love my hair again, as we all know how much of a confidence boost it is. Tina is a pleasure to chat with as well and you can tell in every aspect of her handiwork that she loves what she does and is excellent at it!

I’ve been in Portland for 8 years and Tina has been doing my hair since day one. Finding someone you can trust to take the care needed to do a beautiful, outstanding job each and every time is difficult enough. But to find someone who not only does that but takes the time to really hone in on the space, the setting, the ambience, is another story. Every time I see her at her salon I feel welcome and at ease. She greets me with a smile, offers me drinks and snacks, and we talk the entire time like old friends. And the music really sets the tone. I feel comfortable when I’m there and Tina is great with hearing what I want to do with my hair and doing that and going above and beyond. My hair not only looks great, but it’s healthier than it’s ever been since I started dying my hair years ago. I have and will continue to recommend people to her because I trust her to do just as great of a job on me as on anyone else I know.

I’ve been to a lot of places to cut my hair, and this by far was the best haircut I’ve gotten in my life. My hair flows perfectly. She takes her time and pays attention to small strands to make sure they all move and fall in the right way. She’s also holistic with her hair care. She provides hair care, maintenance, and styling tips that makes the good experience last beyond your time at the salon. My hair has never looked better after using her advice. Super happy and highly recommended.

This review is overdue partly because I wanted to keep Tina all to my own but I would not be doing justice to all the girls with textured, dark brown hair. It’s incredibly difficult finding a stylist here that has both technical expertise with cool girl vibes. I came to Tina with reddish brown hair and accepting the fact that maybe I just will not find a hair stylist here that knows Asian hair but the first time I met her, she blew me away. Her space is private (you will not find gossiping people here), eloquent, and a safe haven to all her clients. You will not be placed under a heater to blast your hair, she’s constantly working through your hair to customize your dimensional blond and will give your the best hair of your life. Tina is a friend, my therapist, the best artist I have met in a very long time. She goes toe to toe against any stylist from LA and NYC. We’re so lucky to have you in Portland Tina!!

Tina is a GEM. After losing my previous stylist of over a decade, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find someone new. I was asked during my haircut to play with it, look at it from different angles to make sure I was happy with it. Her placement for color is amazing. She got the tones I was going for! Tina is hands down the best stylist I’ve ever been to! She is a true artist - I don’t have a clue when it comes to what cut or color would look best, and I always just ask Tina to do what she thinks is best for my face shape and skin color, and it always looks absolutely stunning. She also flawlessly changes the tone and shape as the seasons change. I love that she constantly learns the cutest trendy cuts and keeps me looking stylish and fresh as time goes by. My husband is obsessed with how amazing I look after a new cut, and the look on his face when I come home from her salon is priceless! Tina is the best! I had never been loyal to any one particular stylist before starting to see Tina, and now I never want anyone else to do my hair. I've been going to her for probably 10 years now. She's truly the best at what she does. She's extremely skilled and very thoughtful about giving me a cut that compliments my face, is easy to style/maintain, and will grow out nicely. Tina is truly a hair wizard. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair and I will continue to recommend my friends and colleagues who need hair saving to go see Tina too. I moved to Portland about 8 years ago and struggled for years to find someone that I could trust with my hair. I’m Persian, so my hair is THICK and a lot to work with for many hair stylists. Tina came highly recommended by a friend of mine. After months of contemplation, I finally booked an appointment with her and have never turned back. She has truly transformed my hair, corrected the color perfectly, and has kept my locks looking fabulous during every season. She is on top of hair trends and always knows the best styles and techniques… but her true superpower is knowing her clients well and creating the most beautiful custom color to suit each individual’s style/skin tone/etc. She is also the best person to hang and chat with for the 2+ hours you’re in her chair - which is always a bonus. For those reasons and more, I will never stop singing praises for Tina. She is the very best in Portland and I stand by it.

Tina knows hair, but importantly she really sees/gets to know and understands her clients. She is a magician with color, melt and bringing out your natural beauty and features. These two key things make her a national treasure. She often reads my mind and moods and just knows what I need —- and ALWAYS executes to your satisfaction. I’ve never left her salon feeling anything less than 100%! She is incredible at what she does and will work with you to change it up whether it’s seasonal, per life’s moments and/or when you just want a dramatic “just because” change. I don’t know what I’d do without her.

She knows exactly what to do and is always down to explain and talk over what is going on. She is also amazing to hang out and chat with! I always feel so amazing when my hair is done with Tina.
