Tyler is fantastic! She takes great care of my hair and we have great conversation. I look forward to seeing every visit. Robin is great and very knowledgeable! Payton always takes her time with me, explaining everything to me, she is very patient! The team at the front desk are absolutely phenomenal too! No matter how long it takes to find an appointment to fit in my busy schedule they also do! I am happy I found my curlfriends 🩷

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The experience from start to finish was phenomenal. From the initial tour of the salon to the education I received on how to care for my hair and the top notch products that they used and I also purchased. Before today I had no idea my hair was even as curly as it actually is! Robin and Kelsey were so warm and welcoming. They didn't make me feel stupid in any way for not knowing how to take care of my hair. I just wish I had found out about them sooner! It's definitely expensive to start and get all the products you need but maintenance is very affordable. Plus if you refer your curly friends and they go you get discounts on products!

I love this place. The whole staff is attentive and welcoming. This salon has done wonders to my hair. Diamond is amazing and knows so much about how to take care of curls and have noticed so many improvements ever since I had her as the person who handles my hair .

Look, I’ll start with the only con to get it out of the way… it’s very, VERY expensive for a cut/style. I’ve had long natural hair since 2008. I didn’t big chop, so I’d say I didn’t have undamaged hair until around 2013-2014. I’ve always gotten compliments on my hair, which gave me the impression that my hair way healthy… I’m fully convinced now that I have not known healthy hair in my adult life until I started coming here. My hair is so bouncy and full and curly now! Best part of their service is they teach you how to do your hair — what techniques work best and what products to use. I was already an Innersense shampoo/conditioner user before going, but their suggestion to use the gel too was a game changer. I see Jasmine & love her! She’s so kind, skilled, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. But from what I’ve observed from the other stylists, you’ll enjoy any of them. They’re all very skilled. Check their instagram if you want to see evidence of their work. I highly recommend them to anyone who primarily wears their hair in it’s naturally curly state.

Diamond lived up to her name. She truly shined with my service. I came in for “The Big Chop” full of apprehension. Her knowledge, clear talent and positive vibe instilled immediate confidence. I live in Florida and wanted to try the experts in curls while visiting Atlanta. What a difference from a traditional stylist that does not specialize in curly hair. Now I finally understand why people travel far and wide for a great stylist. I will be back every time I need a fresh cut and shape.

Here it is April 27, 2024 and I think my hair is the best ever. Everyone is just utterly delightful. I am continuously impressed with the staff at Southern Curl after a year I have not had straight hair at all. I received another service today, July 6, and my hair looks better than ever I am unhappy. Customer The staff KNOWS what to do with curly hair! My curls have never looked so good!! Southern Curl (SC) is incredible. They made me feel so special. They take so much time to help you learn the BEST things to do for your curly hair. Because of the work they did, I LOVE my hair more than I ever have. They listen to what u want; they do not push their agenda. They try different products on your hair to make sure u have the right products. The salon is so individualized; there were only a few customers in the salon when i was there. The people are so nice and caring. It is expensive but so worth it; I am worth it. And the great news is, I can wait 3 months b4 I get another cut! I am very excited about SC! 2/1/24: southern Curl is awesome. You feel like family!! Great services!! 7/23/24 awesome job as always!! 10/31/24 everyone there is so talented!

I'm enjoying my new curly girl hair extensions. I've been going to Southern Curl for over 6 years now and Robin is amazing (Payton too!). This is my first time ever having extensions. Before now, it was almost impossible to have them to match naturally curly hair. Robin and Payton were awesome during this entire process explaining what i could expect and thoroughly showed me how to care for and style them. My family and friends are amazed how well the extensions match and look just like my natural curls. Thank you Southern Curl!!! It's MY hair but BETTER!!!

Always great service in a relaxed comfortable environment. All stylists really know natural hair care, especially my coils. They take time to educate and walk me through the process and the products to maintain and advise on taking care my hair. I’ve been coming to Tyler for over a year now and I see a big difference in my hair. Most recently I did pentura color and love the result. Tyler took care and was patient with me through the process. The while Southern Curl experience is one of the reasons I keep coming back.

I just got pintura color (painting highlights on individual curls) from Robin and it looks amazing. She got the tones and placement just right. (Not too yellow, not too ashy, blends well with the silver strands I have throughout my light brown hair.) The highlights wake up my complexion and I feel I look younger. For curly girl reference, I have 2C/3A hair. If you have thick, wavy/frizzy, hard-to-manage hair that you think will never look good, do yourself a favor and go to Robin. She’s highly trained in cutting and styling waves, curls and stubborn hair with multiple textures. And all the folks at Southern Curl are the nicest. For best results, follow their guidelines on how to prepare your hair before a service.

After researching the salon on google and via IG, I selected Jasmine as my stylist and I am so happy I did! Not only is Jasmine so personable, so knowledgeable, so thorough, so into her craft, and so kind, she is also a master with her scissors! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did exactly that. When I returned home from the salon I decided that I wanted to go shorter. I texted the salon to request an “edit” to my style and a color and they booked my slot for both within 1 week of my original appointment. During my second appointment Jasmine cut my hair exactly as the new picture I showed her, picked a color that matched my natural color perfectly, and was so attentive to my sensitivity to the color process throughout the appointment. Kelsey washed and patiently styled my curls wonderfully during this appointment. I left the salon with a shapely short cut, poppin curls, and a big smile! Thank you Jasmine! Thank you Kelsey! I really learned to love my curls over the years. That wasn't an easy task because I have had so many negative experiences with having my hair cut, to the point where I started giving myself trims. It took 5 years for me to get the courage up and I was so excited for today. I walked in with beautiful, long voluminous hair, but left short and shapeless. I showed this pic to my stylist. I told her that this is my favorite pic of myself and what I wanted to go back to...wanted the roundness back. I didn't have to go shorter to get the roundness and volume I wanted. This experience has set me back years in my hair journey. I know "it's only hair" and it will grow back, but I'm more devastated by this experience than anyone before it. I wish Southern Curl would have been a curl haven for me, instead of a regrettable experience that has me feeling self conscious and hold back tears. The loss of confidence and time it will take to get back to where I was, unfortunately, was not worth the experience.

Amazing hair cut/consultation. Poor customer service. I had my first curly cut/consultation and detox moisture treatment with DIAMOND. She was amazing! Very patient and detailed. As it was my first curly cut, she was very thorough in her teaching of technique and styling. For having curly hair my entire life, I didn’t realize I had so much to learn! Diamond is not only a great hairdresser, but an amazing teacher as well. I never thought my curls could look so good! I have never loved my curly hair more! Thank you, Diamond. After having such a great experience with my hair services, I was disappointed with the poor customer service I received after. Following my appointment, I purchased $300+ of hair product. However, when I got home I realized one of the items I paid for was not in the bag. I promptly reached out to Southern Curl. They apologized that the item was not placed in the bag and offered for me to pick up the item. To avoid the inconvenience of an additional trip to pick one product, I asked if it could be shipped to me. They told me they could ship but I would be responsible for the shipping cost. I would have hoped the shipping would be complementary considering the error was not on my part. After spending approximately $700 overall, I would have appreciated better customer service. The cost of shipping is minimal, but it’s the principle. Following such a great experience, I was pretty bummed and disappointed by the response and service after.

I was nervous about investing in my curly hair...again. I felt like I had tried everything but I'm telling you, do this! Tyler was THE BEST. The experience was so much more than cut & education. It was really empowering and helpful to see representation and connection with a community who is embracing their natural hair.
