I have been looking for a hairstylist for sometime now found This couple and I love my hair. It’s light she braids fast I was in and out in no time They were kind You just have to know what you want. She is a professional send a picture I called got in for an appointment the same day. I am satisfied with her service. The braids are also neat. Make sure to have clear communication. I will go back and I will recommend to anyone. They are both professional some might say it’s pricey but then again she is a professional it’s worth the money starting pay is 200 and up

I called in 2 days prior to the appointment they scheduled for me I told them what style I wanted and the husband quoted me a price I came in the next day with the wife, showed her a picture of the hairstyle that I wanted and wanted to check which hair I should get. My appointment was at 3:30 on Saturday I took off work early and when I got there On time for my appointment, they were just starting someone else’s hair and in the middle of doing someone else They didn’t even acknowledge me and say anything I just sat there for A minute and watch them literally start on another persons head meanwhile the lady who was supposed to be doing my hair was not even halfway through someone else’s head mind you I was next door getting my hair And I just left the shop and the lady whose hair she was doing wasn’t in that shop when I first came there 30 minutes earlier she was doing another ladies hair that had locs which her husband was finishing when I came back I waited for them to say something to me like Sorry were running late can you come back in an hour? They didn’t say anything just doing other peoples hair So I got up and left. I took off work early to be there and I was getting my hair done for my mom’s funeral. I was referred by my neighbor, but I ended up going to Shelah Beauty African Hair Braiding on Folsom . The people were much nicer much more professional The set up was way better And I didn’t even say anything I just got up, walked out and went someplace else But I would NEVER EVER GO HERE NOT EVEN IF SOMEONE ELSE-PAID HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE go to Shelah or anywhere other than here Hopefully I can spare someone the frustration this situation in my opinion it’s kind of evil because you don’t know what people got going on in their life unbelievable beyond rude

I went to the shop 3 weeks before I needed my hair done to ask for pricing, the hair I need, and an appointment time. i called to ask a question 15 mins before my appointment and that was when they told me it was cancelled. rescheduled for 5 the next day and my hair wasn't started until 7. Then when she saw the hair, yelled at me for bringing the "wrong" hair even though she approved of it 3 weeks before. She said I complained to much bc I told her this was the hair she told me to buy. Then she tried to charge me $100 more than the original price she told me. Sow is helpful and kind but his wife has a serious attitude problem.

Amazing service, the fastest hair braid that I have done. Long to my waist and it took them 3.5. I did the large, but they are fairly small. Two people work on my hair at the same time. Great option for Burning Man since they are only few hours from Reno #festivalhairbraid #burningmanhair

Everyone was very nice, professional, and friendly. The shop is clean and in a great location. My box braids turned out SOOOOOO GOOD, the pricing was reasonable and they have gained a return customer 💕💕💕 Update: Dec 2, 2022 I have now been to this shop 4 times and my daughter has been twice🥰 always beautiful work and friendly atmosphere! I will always be a customer and love Khady’s gentle technique when braiding! Im tender headed but easily can fall asleep in her chair while she gets me together 🙌🏾💕

I absolutely love and respect this place. Great customer service and such a loving and wonderful environment. I come here every 2-3 weeks and let me say I always get an amazing and stunning set of braids. I mean I go to work and have people asking to take pictures of my head because they want to go home and show their family and friends. I will always get my hair done at Sow K African Hair braiding and only here💯 Can't thank you guys enough for your services❤️

I booked a 1pm appointment for my son to come in and have his hair braided. I called at 4:30, just to make sure we were still on for our appointment, to which the lady told me could I come in at 7pm instead, to which I told here I would just like to keep the appointment time I’d previously already had. The lady then stated that she would call me back in 10min. 20 min goes past, I try to call back and no one would answer.

I have been coming to Khadi for years…. Before she even had the shop I was going to her home. She is the BEST braider I have ever had. She has growing hands, my hair has grown tremendously since Khady has been doing my hair. She takes her time, they are neat, she’s friendly and extremely fair with her prices. Her husband is a great secretary and books all of my appointments for whenever I want them. I will continue to come here for as long as they continue business… even if they don’t I’ll be knocking at her front door. Lol I recommend 100%…. All of the braiders at the shop are talented and great at what they do.

I took my daughter here for her first knotless box braids and we could not be happier with her hair and the whole experience! They were so kind, accommodating, and her braids look absolutely amazing. They are light on her head and nothing is pulling or bothering her - she loves them! We will definitely be back, thank you for taking such great care of my little girl’s hair ❤️

Khady is the BEST and FAST when doing African braids. She is very knowledgeable and can work with all hair types. I was extremely impressed and happy the way my hair turned out. I have been to others in the area and was not satisfied and had to go back for them to fix certain problems. I highly recommend Sow k African! I wanted to leave an update about how wonderful it was to have my braids taken out. They took so much care to take them out and not hurt my growing hair or my scalp. They were very gentle and very few tangles even though I had them in longer than expected due to unforseen me being gone due to the death of my family member. They were very understanding and took great care of my natural hair. I highly recommend Sow k African hair braiding! If you need a place close to home this is the place. You don't have to go to the Bay area to get professional braids!

So this is my first time getting my hair braided outside of my family or myself so at first I was a little worried. I came from LA and need my hair braided before returning home Friday! I called and got a appointment right away and that surprised me, I was over joyed! I went in and got my consultation. She did my braids exactly how I wanted them and there was minimal tension on my head! The braids aren’t heavy and all my parts are even! She even laid my baby hairs!!! I love the family dynamic of the salon husband and wife duo yaaassss!!! My service for small medium box braids took 4 hrs total and only one person worked on this head! SOW -K exceeded all my expectations and they have a customer in me FOREVER!!! Thank you guys I love my hair!!!

They are so talented! The braids are gorgeous and last a long time. My daughter is very tender headed and when they braid her hair, she says it doesn't hurt, especially with the knotless braids.

I called yesterday to make an appointment and asked specifically about $100 braids, the husband told me yes what time do you want to come in. I made an appointment for 9am only to come and fine out the starting price for braids (which stops like a bob) is $150. I’m tall and did not want short braids, so now the braids I wanted would be $200! Extremely unprofessional! I woke up early anyway to come and be lied to about the price. I will never do business with them again

I’ve had my hair braided twice by Katie, I love her work and I will definitely be back. She’s very professional and she knows what she’s doing. She does hair from her residence but it’s very comfortable and clean. Both times I’ve gone to her she’s been on time and that’s a plus plus! I think I’ve found my new braid lady.

Mrs.Khady was very nice and she is excellent at hair braiding. She can do any style. Her husband helps her like a team he answers phones sets appointment for the clients and she does the hair. It was my 1 st time going there and I was really happy with my results.
