I received THE best hair service I've had in over a decade here. If you are looking for a hair care specialist and stylist with that 90s attention to serving and learning the client, Shawan is your girl. The specialty wash, color treatment, deep conditioning, silk press, and trim services I received were top notch! Shawan not only listened to me but she also educated me about my hair. Her assistants were attentive, welcoming, and experienced. I will sit in the traffic from Cobb County to Atlanta for this level of service and bypass salons 10 minutes from my house because I know SP Hair is going to give impeccable service.

I Loved my experience with SP haircare. Mrs. Shawon and her assistant was amazing , patient, sweet , and very caring about my hair and products they used. I was even running 30 mins late for my appointment, and the ladies were very understanding and friendly about the matter, The salon suite is extremely clean , neat and the lighting is amazing inside. Mrs Shawon is beyond professional with her services as well as process of providing and exceptional expertise in regard to hair care. Products she used are available for purchase as well as hair if need be. I highly recommend SP haircare to everyone. This was my first time coming and she has a customer in me for life.

I want to update my review following Ms. Pinder's response. She feels the need to provide a rebuttal to every negative review, instead of using the feedback to make positive adjustments to her business. Her response is full of embellishments and untruths in efforts to negate the reviewer. For instance, I was in her shop 15 minutes, but spent only 6 minutes in her chair doing a consultation. The rest of the time was me waiting for her to finish working with someone else. But c'est la vie. Good luck to her. I stand by my experience with her and my resulting review: --- My required $55 consultation at SP HAIRCARE lasted a whole 6 minutes and was just a money grab, not to mention my travel time and expense. Then Ms. Pinder wanted $675 to do a color correction, highlights and cut. Outrageous! I guess she needs the money to pay for the expensive Buckhead location. But I don't see how any one hairdo could ever be worth that much. If she can attract the high-end clientele who agree to pay those types of fees -- then more power to her, but it's not a place for us common folks.

I love SP Hair Care! I was originally referred by one of my friends/sorors. Finding Shawon has been the best! I'm able to keep a short haircut with a relaxer and high lift permanent color, and my hair still grows like wild fire! You have to see my hair for yourself to see I'm not exaggerating!

I’ve been going to SP Haircare for 3 years and my hair is about 24 inches. The service and employees are amazing and always do a great job. They always make you feel comfortable. The health of your hair always comes first. The owner of the salon, Mrs. Shawon always makes sure to have snacks and drinks for her clients! She provides many services. I’m more of a silk press kind of girl. She always takes care of the health of my curls, so when i revert back from having straight hair my curls always bounce back with absolutely no damage. Ladarya is my favorite shampoo girl. She makes sure my scalp is extremely clean and healthy. She does that old school scratch in the scalp. After that, she did an activated charcoal and tea tree treatment on my scalp as well. My hairstylist, Mrs. Shawon instructed her to do the treatment. She knows exactly what to do. They do custom treatments according to your hair needs. i highly recommend going to SP Haircare, especially if you’re in the Atlanta area.

After searching for a hairstylist in the Atlanta Area , I came across SPHair Care, and I can say that it truly did not disappoint, Shawon did an excellent job taking care of my hair, I got the formaldehyde smoothing system because I wanted better manageability of my natural hair, I was a little hesitant because of the price, but in the end I’m happy that I didn’t let that deter me, when I left the salon my hair looked more healthy and shinny, she gave me a good trimming and answered any questions I had about maintenance, I loved the fact that the system lasted for at least 6 months and did not strip away my natural pattern. After the 6 months I did try another stylist because I was out of the area unfortunately I did not get the same results, but I’m happy to say that I am back in town and getting the formaldehyde free smoothing system again and I can’t be more pleased, I highly recommend SP Hair care for this system. Ladarya is also an excellent stylist in the shop she usually does my braids for me, she does a great job making sure that your hair is cared for pre braiding and that the braids are not overly tight, the finish is usually beautiful, if your looking for a good braider in the Atlanta area give her a try, you will not be disappointed

I have thick curly hair that gets dry. I got my hair shampooed, conditioned, and ozone therapy hydration mist with steam treatment/infrared lighting and blue light ( includes peppermint, rosemary, and eucalyptus on the scalp). My scalp felt clean and nice and tingling. My curl pattern looked well defined. After I got blow dryed out my hair was super soft. The young lady who washes your hair is very nice and ensures your comfortable and she is paying attention to your problem areas. Shawon the hairstylist makes sure she asks what you want your hair to look like and that you’re happy with the finished look.

Very professional and my hair always smells so good afterwards I love the hair products she use's that keeps my hair growing and at its healthiest state. I also love the ozone hydration treatment the peppermint, eucalyptus, sage and rosemary treatment is a must !!! I also have to give a shot out to Mckayla Shawons shampoo assistant , she will have you sleeping while at the shampoo bowel !!!

Hey y’all, I want to start off by saying I have been my own kitchentician for years! However I have found it imperative to find a professional stylist as I have gotten older to seek out professional hair care as my long tresses have suffered a bit of damage from moving coast to coast and the differences in the water! Well, I have come to SP HairCare to begin a new hair journey and it has not disappointed! While it’s early in my process I am very happy with the process and treatment. I can be a handful as I am very particular…..yet Shawon and her assistants have shown me nothing but patience and understanding. The salon is very nice and located in an accessible area. There is complementary wine and snacks. You can also go next door and enjoy Mexican or Japanese cuisine. If you enjoy a good dive bar there is Black Bear tavern across the street! I urge you all to give it a try. From natural hair to relaxed hair (my hair is relaxed) Shawon is your girl and will take care of you! Much love guys! Keep the hair journey happy and healthy!

I was a first time client of Shawon. I researched colorists and I had a few conversations with her. She seemed knowledgeable. I decided I'd trust her with my hair. My goal was blond & platinum highlights to lighten up my natural brown and bring in more platinum to blend the white that is rapidly coming in around my crown and edges. I did have some older color that had to be corrected. My hair is super thick, shoulder length and natural, 4a & b type. The comb out after shampooing was done with a brush which I would never detangle my thick locs with a brush. There was way to much pulling and tugging by her shampoo person who insisted that they only use a brush. I would use a wide tooth comb and the follow up with a brush. I honestly had several moments of discomfort the throughout entire experience. My scalp was tender from the base color and Shawon chose to highlight my hair but not get close to the scalp. Had she consulted with me in advance of making that decision, I would have suggested she rechedule me for the highlights considering it was a $700+ service. I was not going for ombre & did not intend the result to produce a gap between the base color and the highlight. During the highlight session, she had developer on 3/4 of my hair, the back and the left side. Once she started on the right above my ear, whe decided to stop and make a phone call and chat for a few minutes with a client about booking an appointment while I sit with developer actively bleaching my hair. She could have easily delegated the booking to her assistant who was right there with nothing to do, available to handle a phone call. Or she could have waited until she finished the highlights. So the one side turned out more highlighted than the right side. Shawon did a beautiful silk press, trimmed my ends and the result was beautiful. Several weeks later after reverting back from silk press to natural, it was apparent that one side was more highlighted than the other and the highlights begin a 3 inches away from my scalp. That is disappointing especially in the front where the platinum is naturally coming in. I think Shawon really knows color and she is a very good stylist. I do think that she is challenged at multitasking and focus. She is very easily distracted will stop in the middle of an important chemical process to do any number of things . I was there over 9 hours. I can understand 5 hours maybe 6 when you're juggling other clients. But when you know you have a advanced service like mine, you might not want to over book. Maybe she treats here regular clients with more care and the new clients as an after thought. I don't know. I can only report on what I experienced and how my results turned out. But I don't think I'll return to get the highlight retouch. Clients know when we matter and when our business is appreciated. The difference between a good salon and a stellar salon is always service. Put your client first.

I’ve been going here for years , I only get my hair straightened here at SP HairCare. They wash your hair throughly and it’s very relaxing . I always recommend them to my friends , particularly the ones with thick hair like mine.

Shawon took wonderful care of me, she really cares about the health of your hair. Her staff take great care of you and you have a great experience. She charged me $250 American dollars for a wash, treatment and trim and then sneak begged me to tip her assistant. Last time I saw her a year ago she charged me $85 just for a wash and treatment. She didn’t even straighten my hair that time and my hair was still wet from the blow dry. Her hair dressing is above average. Honestly it’s my fault but both my hairdressers are out of town so I settled because she’s close by. I just wasn’t expecting that level of audaciousness. And there’s no water. No snacks. Nothing. She’s entitled to set her prices. I’m entitled to comment on how ridiculous they are.

Wow! Where do I start? After losing (breakage, thinning, shedding & all that is imaginable) my beautiful head of hair to medication, I began searching for someone who could give it life again. As a “hair girl” this new, unimaginable journey has been very devastating. In my quest and desperation to find a quality stylist, I stumbled across SP HairCare; and without hesitation or any real expectation, I scheduled an appointment. After reading at least 20+reviews, I was excited about what was to come. However, on the day of my appointment, my excitement was quickly shattered. This, after seeing all the beautiful women and their beautiful hair. You heard me correct; every woman was beautiful and had beautiful hair. I immediately thought to myself, what happened? In this moment, I did not feel beautiful or confident. Why did I have to lose my hair? My hair has been my glory, who am I without it? With my head held down, I secretly admired every client. I prayed that my glorious hair would return. Of all the things that could happen, hair loss. (Foolery) Moments later, the tears started. I tried to gain perspective, but it was elusive. As I tried to keep my composure, a kind voice (Aaliyah) leaned in to say, “it’s going to be ok.” I understand your hurt. Hair loss can be traumatic. I have a history of hair loss too, so I know the feelings all too well. Here I am, this strange woman in a strange place, breaking down over hair. How silly I must have looked. Without pause or judgement, Aaliyah reached in to give me a hug. Yep, the unexpected embrace from a stranger. A brief time following, Shawon walks in asking “what’s going on here?” Through my tears, I said “I am having a moment.” “I hate my hair.” Shawon immediately walks over and gives me another hug. Could it be, these people care and can sympathize with my situation? I was completely blown away. Their response was a pure example of the best that humanity can offer. Shawon also reminded me, “that I am more than my hair.” With the same intent, Aailyah says “stop looking at all those old pictures.” They are preventing you from moving forward, accepting where you are and living in the moments that you have. After much back and forth and discussions about what to do with my hair, we agreed to cut it. For me, short hair has never been my preference. But now, I have no choice. While I remain indifferent about short hair for myself, I am over the moon about the care, attention, and kindness that Shawon and her team have given to me. My hair is starting to come alive again. In fact, just today (3/26/24), I told Shawon, I thought it is growing. It looks and feels silky, it is bouncy, and it smells incredible. SP HairCare has been a Godsend. I could not be happier. Thank you for then, thank you now and thank you for what is to come. Shawon and Aaliyah, I am forever grateful for your kindness and willingness to share your hair care knowledge. Run Do Not Walk to SP HairCare. At any cost! BTW, if everyone has long beautiful locks, Shawon must be doing something great. I decree and declare, my locks will be just as beautiful, long and flowy. Shawon is very friendly and helpful. My favorite thing is that when she curls my hair it last a few days. When she blows out my roots, they are very straight. Much better than anyone I have been to for natural hair.

Always such good results! I have very long, thick and natural hair, so I enjoy being shampooed 3-4 times, deep conditioning and leave-in conditioning along with the leave-in protectant. It always looks so good and I love being able to come in at 6am with no early booking fee!!!

I found SP Haircare when I was online looking for a good stylist that would also take care of my hair. It’s clear that Shawon loves what she does. She truly cares for your hair and cares about you. I’ve been a client for about a year now and I can’t say enough. Her assistant Ladarya is also amazing. From the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel welcomed. And, they both are very professional. After a previous bad experience elsewhere, I’m very skeptical about who cares for my hair. Shawon cleared that skepticism very quickly. I do not at all regret going there.

SP HairCare uses this liquid collagen leave in on my hair that’s keeps it so moisturized and shiny. I have long thick hair that requires a lot of attention, I always have to get at least 4- 5 shampoos that feel amazing. I have a great experience every time I visit and there is always good customer service. The salon always has space, a great scent of natural oil candles, and it is always clean.

Very disappointed was not clear with price once she finish with my hair the price was 250 for a wash blow dry. over blow dryed hair without life straight without style. I dont mind paying but it should be of good quality. When question about the price she replied "I charge 80 just to wash hair." Had it done Saturday Monday look like I never went to a stylist.
