I struggle with general and social anxiety. It makes it hard to make show up to appointments. Today, I had my first brazilian with Shevon. She was so gentle and kind. She explained the steps to me and we had a wonderful conversation as she was performing the service which was really helpful to distract from the pain. Shevon deserves recognition for her customer service & technique. She made me feel so comfortable so fast. She was warm and had a smile, good attitude. That's really rare i the service industry now. Thanks Shevon. I'll be back to Spa Catalina just for you!

Spa Catalina is my absolute favorite! Erica was funny, informative, and made my skin happy. She really knows what she is doing when it comes to skin care and helping you achieve the skin you want. I struggle with adult acne and she not only gave me the best facial ever but she also gave me recommendations for products to use to help me. I’ve become somewhat of a “regular” to this spa and highly recommend it!!

The staff was friendly however I was told my skin is too dark for the lasers they use. It's 2022!!! So basically, Spa Catalina doesn't want to service people of color. Yes my skin is brown, but it's no where near the deep gorgeous rich melanin I've seen on many women. Please get it together Spa Catalina or at least publicize that you are ill-equipped to handle all customers.

If it was appropriate to add photos to this post I 100% would. I get regular Brazilian waxes and this is the worst wax I have ever gotten. If my regular lady wasn’t booked up I would have never came here. It was a huge red flag when the lady was 30 minutes late to my appointment, I knew I should have just rescheduled it. Although the lady was very apologetic, that still doesn’t mean it’s okay. That was the first thing, second.. she definitely burnt me with the wax, 4 days before my wedding might I add. So that’s cool. Second, I just got home and got a good look at this “Brazilian wax” that she supposedly gave me.. no, just no. I am very disappointed and would never recommend this place to any friends and family. I am real happy that I had a Groupon deal and didn’t pay their full price of $70 for this “wax” that she did. 🤬

First things first, I’m a big advocate on excellent customer service - and Shevaun has a customer service mind set! No business is perfect but this spa is most definitely my favorite. I know if I have any issues, I can bring it to her and she actually listens (because I have had a minor issue - again b/c no business is perfect - and I did bring it to her and she did listen and work at it). I love spa Catalina because of Shevaun. She has the kindest heart & has client’s best interest in mind. Shevaun is SO GOOD at what she does. Not only is she inviting and friendly, but she also takes great pride in her work. Her energy & positivity is contagious. I know she really cares about other people and their experience at the spa because she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable (my first time seeing her and since then). I know everyone has different experiences and opinions but this woman is worth the wait, worth a chance, and does not disappoint. No matter what service Shevaun does, she’s going to do her best. She is consistently flexible and works with you. She is seriously the best esthetician I’ve had. I’m not going anywhere else. So happy I met Shevaun & thankful for Spa Catalina 😍. Had an unfortunate experience. I had a groupon gifted to me and was a few sessions into my laser hair. The first appointment got the time messed up but she fit me in. I made an appointment for another visit, called the morning of to confirm as my appointment was not within their open hours but the gentleman said she would be there. Drove the 40 minutes it take me to get there to find out she was infact not in. The computer somehow messed up my appointment and deleted it. Her assistant kindly offered to do it but because of the sensitivity of the area and her lack of confidence I rescheduled. Ended up mixing up the dates and decided they didn't feel I was worth their time so I would not be returning. This was the second time they had messed up my appointment. I wish they would send a confirmation text the night before like most places extremely given that the computer often messes up appointments. Never even heard anything from them since and I still have several sessions to go. Guess if your a broke student like me and cant work around all their mistakes you are not worth the effort. Wont be returning. I prefer Indigo Aesthetics and would advise people to look elsewhere than here.

Kimber is very knowledgeable about the services she is providing and knows exactly what she is doing. I received a microcurrent facial and oxygen plasma facial today and I am very satisfied with the results! I will definitely come back again!

I am absolutely thrilled with the last treatment that I received from Erica at Spa Catalina. The Micro Channeling paired with the Dermal Infusion is a winning combination for young and vibrant looking skin. I have been going to this spa since 2003, and I have never been disappointed with the customer service or my results. Love this place!!

Went to get a signature facial yesterday. Called and made an appointment for that day. Service was great, everything was clean and neat and the facial was so relaxing. I didn't feel pressured to start a membership or buy products but their membership includes much more than Massage Envy. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly and got me in and out without me feeling rushed. Also I have acne and after just one day my face is looking and feeling much better! I will definitely be signing up for a membership to get one of these once a month! Would definitely recommend.

"I first found Spa Catalina through Groupon and purchased a massage/facial package not realizing how far from my house they were located. It took me a good 45 minutes to get there but it was definitely worth the drive. The spa is clean and professional without having that " uncomfortable uppity " feeling. Amber was extremely nice and friendly and seemed very knowledgeable in her field. I have already made a return visit and plan to schedule another appointment in the near future."

After only 2 laser hair treatments, I have barely any hair regrowth! Procedure is quick, relatively comfortable, and easy to schedule. Quiet location for a relaxing spa day.

Horrible place, I would not recommend to anyone! I purchased the laser hair removal series from living social, and scheduled an appointment to come in. Unfortunately, the morning of my appointment I had a terrible fever and wasn't feeling well, so I called to cancel the appointment since that is what most medical spas urge their clients to do since it is so important to be sanitary. I was told I would be charged the cancellation fee PLUS one of the laser hair removal services off my series, which does not make any sense because that would mean they would be making more money by people not showing. Anyways, she said I should still try to come in to avoid being charged the fees because I thought it was ridiculous to pay since I could't control that I would be sick. I was in complete shock that a medical spa would actually prefer their sick client to come in than to spare the cancellation fee to keep the space sanitary for the sake of their staff and clientele. I called back to complain, and luckily they said they would drop the fee that one time, but would take one of the services off my series. I absolutely will not be rescheduling and will get a refund for my living social.

I had a wonderful first time experience at Spa Catalina. My massage with Kimber was wonderful and time was spent focusing on my "troubled spots" that needed more attention. Amber did a great job of explaining the process through my first facial. My skin felt renewed afterwards. The staff was very flexible with scheduling and it was greatly appreciated! Will definitely recommend and go back myself! Thank you!

I recently purchased a Groupon for the massage and facial combination package. Amber performed both services and it was an awesome experience and she was very professional and kind. She was knowledgeable about the products, services of the Spa and about the services she was providing. It was a great experience.

I'm super bummed that the salon has changed so much. I was a customer before they moved and things were ok. Facials, massages, and laser lipo were the services I have tried. The massages were ok, facials were fine, laser lipo is a joke. Doesn't do anything and is a huge waste of money, but oh well. My husband purchased a Groupon for a massage and facial for my birthday. When trying to book online there seemed to be some glitch with the website, so I called. Unfortunately, Jessica was not helpful. I told her in advance I had a Groupon as a gift from my husband and was trying to book online, but was unsuccessful. I had to explain to her twice, what I was needing. She kept insisting that I take a 12:30 in the afternoon, even after I explained to her that I teach and cannot take off during the day. She then informed me that she had no appointments until the week after my Groupon expired, so I was not going to be able to use it. First she said she couldn't use the Groupon at all since there were no availabilities before it expired, then proceeded to try to explain that Groupon won’t let you redeem them if expired (which I know is NOT true). Then said that she could go ahead and extend the Groupon if I used it for a service on Dec. 29 at 11 am. I was perfectly okay with that. She entered my number to set the appointment and then came back that she will NOT extend it because I have been to the salon before. I had already told her 3 times that I had been visiting the spa since before the new location!! She refused to honor the Groupon and said I will have to contact them for a refund. I explained that I read over the Groupon from my husband, and it does not state that you must be a first time customer. She proceeded to argue with me, although I was reading it from the site. Unfortunately, if that is how customers are treated here now, I guess I’m going to have to go to another salon. Massage Envy offers great massages and facials for reasonable prices and I have never had any problems with their customer service. I’m truly disappointed.

The place is a joke, I completely agree with these reviews. "Their customer service and quality of treatments is terrible - take your money elsewhere!" is right. I went there for the laser hair removal, nothing but a long wait, and NO real results. If the customer service was good, I would have continued, but they would half*** the job every time. That lady never finished the proper area. Half way through my 6 sets, I went somewhere else. I was treated much better, great service, great price, and certainly better results. I could see the treated area after my sets and I could tell they didn't miss anything. At Catalina the lights are so dim even the people who work there can't see anything. After each set, they don't even know if they got all the areas or not. Catalina was a waste of my money and my time. I will never go there again.

I first found Spa Catalina on Groupon for laser hair removal. Started with bikini and now doing brazillian after my second visit. I have been three times and I love the professional environment. All the staff are so friendly, erica and all her team are great! My treatments have all been quick and easy! I have noticed a remarkable transformation in my hair growth and can't wait to finish off the rest of my treatments to see the outcome! I also decided to try their full body slimming wrap a month ago before a wedding I went to and felt AMAZING afterwards! I trimmed three inches! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for laser hair removal and their wraps. I have not tried the facials or other laser treatments but with the way they run this place I'm sure they are just as great. Even though their location is North Kansas City, MO and I live South Kansas City, MO I will always drive the distance for the exceptional service I have found here. THANK YOU SPA CATALINA FOR MAKING MY FIRST LASER HAIR REMOVAL EXPERIENCE WONDERFUL!!

I first went to Spa Catalina 8 years ago by chance - as a new business owner, Erica was selling introductory packages in my downtown office building. Being a Northlander, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to purchase 4 spa services for $59, and each time I went to the spa I left happy with the service I received. Over the past 8 years, I have continued to be a very satisfied client of Erica and her staff. I've had numerous spa treatments, given gift cards to friends, and treated my daughter to a wedding day package at the spa. Never have I seen or sensed the type of negativity expressed by some of the reviews below. As I always tell Erica, "it makes me happy to just walk in to the spa!" Erica is a wonderful hostess twice a year to her clients for an open house, where she gives away treatments, gift cards and friendship. If you haven't tried Spa Catalina, you should!

I have been a Spa Catalina customer for 8 years now and have recently gotten most of the hair on my body removed from their laser treatments. I now go in for regular maintenance and couldn't be more satisfied with the results and the service. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I have also enjoyed their massage treatments and considering trying new facial treatments.

I have been a customer with Spa Catalina for several years now and I wont go anywhere else! The owner, Erica, is awesome! She really cares about her business and her customers. If theres ever a problem you can go to her and she will do what she can to make it right. The prices are great and the location is so convienant for northlanders. The swedish body wrap is my favorite. I highly reccomend this spa for its outstanding services, great prices and convienant location.

I have been going to Spa Catalina since it opened several years ago and have referred several close friends. Erica and company are always careful to make sure that you understand the procedure you have asked for in addition to making sure that the end results meet reasonable expectations. It is an intimate & relaxing setting. I am always warmly greeted when I come in for an appointment. All services received are great but the last tints are beyond remarkable. I have been to many day and ranch spa's over the years but Spa Catalina is the one I always come back to in Kansas City.

I have been going to Spa Catalina since it opened, and have been seeing Erica for appointments even before she opened the spa, so we are talking over 10 years. I always experience the best of care and services. They are always kind, professional, and accomodating. I have received many different services from the spa, and I am always pleased. I love the facial with the Plasma Ablation! People notice and say," Your skin looks great! What do you do?" I swear, it will take 5 years or more off your face and it has lasting effects. I purchased a Groupon knowing I was not a candidate for laser hair removal. I purchased it for the IPL photo treatment. I have blonde hair and fair skin with red undertones. I was a little nervous at first about the treatment because I was told it could be uncomfortable. The staff at Spa Catalina set me at ease. The receptionist was very courteous when I arrived. Erica (the owner I believe) was very helpful in explaining how the laser worked, how it would feel, and what to expect. After four treatments, I was very pleased with the overall tone of my skin. I would not hesitate to do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you Spa Catalina!

I purchased a groupon for the laser hair removal. I must say it has been well worth my investment. The spa is very clean and a peaceful relaxing atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and attentitive to the their clients. I've had 4 treatments and the results have been awesome showing little to no hair growth at all. I would recommend this place to anyone. This was money well spent.

I purchased the Groupon for laser hair removal in the bikini area. I have had a total of 7 treatments and the hair is completely gone! I am thrilled with the results and also with the treatment I received from the staff. Erica (the girl who did my treatments) was friendly and made me feel very comfortable every time I went in. I was so pleased with the results that I purchased another laser hair removal Groupon for another area.

I read the reviews for Spa Catalina before I bought my first GroupOn and was concerned about some of the negative comments. I am so glad I decided to give them a try! I've been going for over a year now and have been very happy with the results. If you can't get along with the staff here, then there is something wrong with YOU - the people here are great and I have always found them very accommodating. I don't care if they offer more GroupOns or not, I plan on continuing being a customer.

Love going to Spa Catalina the staff is very nice and knowledgeable. You can always expect to receive the best of services. I love the variety of anti-aging services they provide as well as the nice relaxing massages. The laser is one of my favorites I had the laser done in my underarms and I love it. The hair has not come back and now I don't have to deal with razor burn anymore. If you are looking for a place to be pamper and get results at the same time this is the place. Love it!

Revised: I previously gave this a very poor grade within 24 hours the owner called me to ask me about the situation informed they had listened to their clients and upgraded their equipment. Very good customer service and handled a complaint the way it should be handled. I would most likely go in and try their new service but they are far from my home. But defiantly impressed by their drive for customer satisfaction. I purchased their groupon and the upgrade. I did 6 treatments and saw NO results honestly I did a spot on my chin and it has gotten WORSE!!! Their machine hurts from overuse and is poor quality!
