I went in for a color consultation because the place I used to go to is now too far since moving to CH. I brought in a picture and the stylist said that what I was showing them was balayage, which I’ve had done before. In the consultation I was very clear that I didn’t want any copper reddish tones (my hair is very dark and I’ve gotten that in the past and I don’t like it). I wanted very light brown ash tones, which is what was in the picture I brought. Very subtle and natural looking. After chatting with them for no more than 10 minutes I scheduled an appointment with them since they seemed to understand what I wanted and confident that they could do it. During the appointment I noticed that they put a lot of foils in for a partial balayage, but I trusted that they knew what they were doing. Once they had bleached my hair I noticed that the pieces framing my face were high up near my part and some sections looked a bit brassy, but again, I was trusting they knew what they were doing. After the toner we sat to get my hair blow dried. I was a bit in shock at how far off the result was from what I asked for. My hair was a golden blonde and the contrast against my almost black hair looked AWFUL. I am a very calm person and it takes a lot for me to get upset. I told the stylist that I was going to sit with it for a few days, but that it’s not what I was expecting and that I might be back. I wore hats and beanies for three days straight until I was able to get a color correction appointment. Already feeling awkward at having to go in to get the terrible dye job fixed, I once again explained that I wanted ash tones - not golden yellow brassy tones. They explained what they were going to do to “fix” their mess up and got to work. After an hour the stylist said they were only going to blow dry a couple sections to see what the result was because they had another appointment (in my head I was like, are you serious?). As they were drying my hair I could tell that the pieces framing my face were non other than a coppery tone - WHICH IS THE FIRST THING I SAID I DIDNT WANT DURING THE CONSULTATION. The rest of the hair looks a little closer to the ash tones I wanted but the color now just so looks uneven. I told them that if they couldn’t deliver what I asked for they needed to say that during the consultation. I’m cutting my losses and won’t seek further action to get it fixed. This experience was enough to realize that they can’t do color. I’ve gotten much better balayage at Hair Cuttery. A few things to note: - Stylist said that box color, which I had done on myself two years ago ago, is very hard to get out. Interestingly enough the hair that had been box dyed (bottom 3/4) lifted and I got the more ashy tone I wanted there - Stylist said while “fixing” the color that for how dark my hair is it would have been better to lift the color through two sessions, but that for my hair type he didn’t recommend. WHY WAS THAT NOT MENTIONED DURING THE CONSULTATION??? - Stylist also mentioned while correcting the color that he didn’t put any blue/purple tones in the toner he used in my first appointment - why??? Isn’t that’s what’s needed to kill the gold/brass tones? - When booking the color correction appointment I asked how late they were working and they said 7pm. I booked appointment for 5pm but said that I didn’t want it to feel rushed and they said it wouldn’t be a problem. Well, stylist had a 6pm appointment which is why they couldn’t blow dry my hair and I couldn’t see the full result until I got home and blowed dried it myself. I’m not going to say names, but this person was young and clearly needs color training or to straight up go back to school. I will say that they gave me a nice haircut - I like it a lot. But after messing up my color so badly I’m simply never stepping in there again. Proceed with caution when considering this place for hair color.

Went for my first time on 3/3/24. I asked for a stylist who was familiar with balayage to lighten my very dark brown hair. The stylist seemed unfamiliar with the process and ended up making my hair orange. NO exaggeration. He offered to fix it the next day for free. I called before the appointment and asked if a more experienced person could fix it instead. She assured me that would happen. It didn't. I was given to him again and he told me he added some blue to take away the orange. And then I made him ask someone else what he should do. The other stylist told him what to do and at this point its is much less orange but still very bad and not at all what the picture looked like. I've had balayage many times before and this just looks like all of my hair is a bit lighter than it was. No dimensions. Still pretty orange and just looks like I'm growing out my orange hair. I can't now get balayage as my hair was stripped and will break. I've called to talk to the owner or manager and haven't heard back.

I’m a staunch advocate for customer service without being unrelenting about it. I realize things happen BUT when they do, please show grace & contrition & try & salvage my experience. I had a consult with Alex which was made a week or so in advance. Approx 20m before the apptmt, I received a call advising that he was running a bit behind. Not a huge problem but I had professional obligations to complete. Nonetheless, I waited 45m & made my appointment for permanent hair color 2 weeks later. A week before my scheduled apptmt, I received a TEXT that he wouldn’t be in the day of my apptmt & questioned if there was an alternate day I could come. Ummm, I don’t necessarily have a problem with texts but professional matters where there’s an exchange of money for services should be accompanied by an endearing phone call evidencing a profuse apology & incentive (discount of sorts) for me to reschedule. Didn’t happen. When you don’t respect my time, I can’t promote your bottom line. Often times we seek an elevated experience & mistakenly believe that different zip codes will garner that experience. Sometimes, it does but my experience was that an elevated experience is a bit of a misnomer for Spa Elysium.

Rin is amazing! She knows how to work with textured (i.e. Black) hair, and I walked out with a gorgeous blowout and trim. The salon was clean, cute, and rustic. They also carry skinceuticals and an assortment of other higher-end skin and hair products. They were also on time. I’ll be back!

Larry has been cutting my hair for almost 15 years. I have thick, unruly hair and he makes it look and feel perfect every time. I show him photos, we talk about maintenance, and it comes to life, every time. I won't go to anyone else! Salon is filled with beautiful one of a kind jewelry, purses, candles, etc. Highly recommend!

Such an amazing experience. I was pretty nervous and ended up cutting about 7 inches of hair off. Vaughn was my stylist and she was so nice! She gave me great advice on styles I should do since I wasn’t positive how short I wanted it. Such a great atmosphere and very happy with the results. Thank you!

This is long overdue but I used Spa Elysium & Fringe Salon for my bridal party hair & makeup and I was so glad to have found this salon! Wendy (owner) was so accommodating and everything went right on schedule! Natalie (hair), Vaughn (makeup) and the entire staff were so kind and did such a nice job! The salon itself is such a nice space and has a great vibe. Thank you so much for helping make our wedding day so special!

Very aesthetic,well managed facility. Staff are consistently welcoming, very pleasant and professional. also, staff at front desk, and massage therapist, are very compassionate. I was not feeling well once, when I arrived, and staff were extremely responsive. I usually prefer women massage therapists; however, the male therapist has been so mindful, creating a very safe atmosphere. He is so skilled that my three experiences with him have been the most pain free deep tissue massages I have ever had.
