Changing my review to one star. This place was better when it was owned by Athena. The new prices are ridiculous and the new owners snarky replies to negative but honest feedback of their small business make me never want to visit here again. Review for when Athena owned it: Love having an infrared sauna establishment right down the road from my house. I purchased some holiday packages and have visited a few times a month. Perfect during the cold winter months. My favorite is the enhanced 3 person unit. I go by myself and get to stretch out which makes for a more enjoyable time. The place is clean, they have excellent Covid protocols in place and the people that work there are nice.

I have been here twice now and each time has been an incredible experience. I highly recommend any of the services, but particularly I enjoy the contrast therapy session. I live in Cap Hill, so it’s sort of a treat to go there. I enjoy it so much so that when a friend visiting from out of state I was here we scheduled a contrast therapy session into our weekend plans. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed in this small business. Staff and owner are great as well!

Under new ownership means: major price increases (gone from average prices, to very expensive), less pleasant experiance, awefull new booking system and they fired all the old staff. I canceled my membership and will not come back.

I’ve always been interested in coming here and when I finally stopped by to get more information on pricing and memberships the team was less than helpful and not informative at all. They instead referred me to their website which I thought was interesting. Typically if a business is offering services (especially those that aren’t cheap!) you would think they would want to explain the need for their products and how everything works.. on their store front it has multiple pictures of different products they offer but when I went to the website it looks like they only have 2-3 options max?? … there’s def a lack of urgency here and after reading other reviews explaining that they have a new owner I wouldn’t imagine this business staying afloat for long! Considering how they interact with possible future-customers. Disappointing. I decided to sign up with a competitor instead.

Update: I am dropping my review to one star from three. I cancelled my membership last month and in my email exchange with the owner, he said he would cancel it right away. I was just charged for another month despite being assured that my membership, that can be cancelled at anytime, was not. Not acceptable! I guess I will have to contact my credit card company. This used to be such a lovely little escape but the new ownership has made changes that may work well for some, but have undoubtably made the experience worse for others. I get constant emails asking for me to review them on Google, so here it goes. The environment and vibe have changes quite a bit. It's a lot more pretentious and it's difficult and awkward for me to deal with the the front desk staff. They "upgraded" to an app that is extremely buggy and doesn't properly record cancelled appointments. I have had to cancel the same appointment three times in the app, I have double and triple checked that they are cancelled, and I still get reminders of my bookings with them not showing as cancelled. The prices have been jacked up quite a lot and things like taking a shower are now an extra charge. If you are a member you will now need to pay double what you used to for guests (yes, that extra towel will now cost you $20). The system for using credits is no longer flexible and you can either use them ONLY for contrast therapy or ONLY for a sauna session. Having some experience with programming, this should be a non-issue if it is really about contrast therapy and sauna session being a different number of credits. It seems to be a way to drive up prices (you do after all get a small discount on extra session if you're a member, you know, to meet your needs), which on one level I get, and on the other just doesn't feel worth it. Cost of operating everything is going up and businesses do need to make ends meet. It's just not a system that works well for me, and after doing some math I realized that it's just cheaper to install a SunHome Sauna in my home than to continue to pay the new prices. This may not be an option for everyone, and many of these changes may not be an issue for some. This may be a great place for many people still, and other like me may be irritated and look at alternative options, thus the more neutral rating. As a response the owner: First of all, yes, I have been a small business owner. Feedback on the several of the issues mentioned above was given prior to leaving any review, so claiming it wasn't isn't quite honest. Claiming that people's personal experience, such as sense in the shift in the vibe or if it is awkward to deal with people (notice how I say it is awkward for ME, not that the staff is awkward or that everyone will find it awkward), are inaccurate is simple inappropriate and fails to take into account theory of mind and individuality. Furthermore, saying that objective things, like software not working (still getting emails about appointments that have been cancelled as if they haven't been!) is not great either. My review takes into account my personal subjective experience as well as objective factual things that can be back up with email exchanges and screenshots. My review is well rounded and takes into account many factor including rising business costs and how things felt before new ownership took over as compared to now. If you are only looking for 5 star reviews, then maybe don't offer up a space to honestly review something or send out email request to review your business. I could easily have given a 1 star review, because my experience was not pleasant, but that also wouldn't be fair or account for all the different factors that go into business ownership or other people's preferences.

My first infrared sauna and it felt great! Staff helped me understand how to personalize the settings. My audible book even played thru the sauna Bluetooth. Great spot!!

Response to owner: Andrew, if all you took from my feedback is that I am trying to publicly “damage” your business then I am very disappointed. I would want nothing but for a small private business to thrive. But instead of addressing the noise level issue (that is now being reported to you twice), and has nothing to do with staff conversing about the work going on in the saunas but rather you all talking loudly to guests/friends without any regard for the customers that are already there and wanting to relax, you found a way to blame it on the customer? The walls are very thin and not sound proof. I paid a lot of money to come and relax there. I was unable to do so because of the noise levels! The saunas are great. Owners are friendly. But if you’re looking to go relax and enjoy some quiet time in the sauna- this is NOT the place. I booked the sauna so I could relax and enjoy some quiet time. However, the entire 45 minutes I was there, I could hear the staff and guests conversing in the lobby/waiting area. And it wasn’t muffled voices, they were REALLY LOUD!! I even had my calming music playing through the Bluetooth and it didn’t make a difference! The interesting thing is that I read someone else’s google review about this place and the loud conversations between the staff and guests and I thought it’d been addressed so decided to give them a try but sadly not the case. For this reason- I don’t think I’ll be going back.

I can’t say enough good things about Andrew and the fire and Ice experience. This was my first cold plunge and I’m so glad I did it at Space Bar and was guided by Andrew. He guided me through proper breath work which not only made the plunge easier than I expected but it also gave me the tools needed to help manage stress in day to day life: I’m so grateful for this experience and can’t wait for the next one!

I did a Fire and Ice coaching session with Jacob and it was such a great experience. I was nervous going in since I’ve never done cold plunge before but he made it easy. The studio is clean and has a really chill vibe. Stoked for the rebrand and I will definitely be back!

Lately, I've been searching for ways to de-stress and focus on some self care. I'm so glad I decided to try We Sweat. It's a very welcoming, relaxing environment and the sauna is great therapy and I definitely felt a change afterwards. I will for sure be coming back. Sweat it out people!

Space BAR is fantastic! I completed a guided contrast therapy session this weekend with Jacob. The experience from start to finish was great. He did a great job of walking us through various breathing exercises for the plunge and talking through the infrared sauna. I will definitely be back.

Such a cool experience all around. Andrew goes above and beyond to create a calm zen vibey space. He is very knowledgeable in his coaching with breath work and explaining ahead of time how the contrast from plunge to sauna will be. What to expect and overall helps eliminate the nerves. I tell everyone I can about it knowing they will have the same level of service when they go in. I’d given 10 stars if I could! look forward to becoming more involved in this community and getting the benefits that contrast therapy has to offer.

Such a wonderful place to be in, everything is very neat and clean. You’ll be provided with water and towels. Every time I do a fire and ice sessions I get the best sleep ever and waking up with tons of energy. Highly recommend!

What an incredible experience! Spacebar Wellness (previously We Sweat) is such a beautiful experience, both mentally physically and aesthetically. As someone who really hates being cold, I was nervous about the cold plunge experience, but the guided meditation and breathe work experience was professional and calming. Of course, I also loved the sauna in between sessions to get warmed up. I’ll definitely be back - With friends because the group experience was amazing!!

Andrew and the team were so welcoming upon arrival, the space felt inviting and tranquil, and we were offered charcoal shots. My friends and I booked the Fire & Ice group experience. Andrew walked us through the process, explained the style of breathing and coached us the whole way through. At first it was a challenge but with the breathing techniques it became manageable and the plus of a sauna sesh on the other side. My friend signed me up, and I could not have had a better first experience. If you are thinking of plunging for your first time - Fire and Ice experience with Andrew is the way to do it. I have had the best week since my plunge and will absolutely be back.

Been going for contrast therapy the past couple months. My partner and I have been absolutely loving our time. Immediate and long-term effects to our mood and health have been apparent. Of note: we've noticed the XL Sanctuary sauna tends to run more on the temperate side whereas the regular Sanctuary sauna can really crank the heat up. Just an FYI. Cold plunges are all bone chilling! I would highly recommend checking this place out!

I have been coming here for a few months and I’m obsessed! All the rooms (sanctuaries) I’ve been in are cozy and relaxing. I’ve done rooms with just a sauna and with cold plunge/sauna (which are my favorite). I always feel rejuvenated after and the staff are so kind!

Update: I’m really bummed to post this because I am a member and until last weekend had always had wonderful experiences here. But, there’s a new owner and it’s becoming clear they don’t have the same philosophy as before. Today’s example: when I walked in there were at least 3 men sitting in the very small lobby/waiting room. One of them is the. We owner who I met last week. They engaged in a loud conversation for about half of the 40 minute time I was there. I could hear them through the sauna walls. As I left, I provided gentle, constructive feedback that it had been quite loud during my session. The owner was condescending and dismissive stating, “well, we’ve gotta talk so I guess we’ll try to keep it down”. I let him know that people come here to try to relax and that I thought the noise was excessive. Unfortunately I’ll be reevaluating my membership. I’ll give it another couple tries but I’m bummed. It’s a far cry from my original ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️review: Such a great experience! Excellent, friendly service on my very first time. I will definitely be back!!

We are definitely coming back for more! This was the first time my wife and I have visited We Sweat. We chose the Contrast Therapy option, so we got to do sauna and cold plunge. It was a great, low-key date for us. Both of us felt a noticeable increase in our mood for several hours after we left. The staff person was friendly and welcoming. It was wonderful. As a bonus, we stopped in Freshy's Coffee shop just down the block afterwards for a few minutes, which brought back good memories of other dates we had there.
