Had never been here before but really needed my nails done and was so busy leading up to Thanksgiving that I didn't have time to book an appt where I live in Arizona. I used to live in Columbus and loved going to W Nail Bar. I looked for something similar in Cincy and found Spruce. I could tell by the website that I'd love it. I was able to make it in for a mani and pedi and I felt so spoiled the entire time I was here. They have a pleasing aesthetic and multiple nail techs who make friendly conversation. Bonus that they are located next door to Deeper Roots- a fave of mine! I REALLY want to give them 5 stars, but unfortunately the gel on my nails started chipping less than a week later (my toes are still going strong, luckily!). I would give them another chance at the nails, but I'm used to my places lasting 3-4 weeks for gel. So given the price I paid, I was surprised it started to chip closely after my appointment. And the downside of not living close by is that I couldn't go in and have it touched up. But I'd love to go back next time I'm in Cincy, even if it's just for a pedicure, which was fabulous!

Bestie and I have been here twice now to get our nails done and we’re in love. Spruce has such a welcoming atmosphere and staff. Natural lighting and overall good vibes..and of course some talented folks who get the job done. Emma and Andi are absolutely fantastic, I recommend them both to the fullest. Love you all so much, thank you for what you do!

I tried really hard to love spruce as I live in the area & I love the vibe & concept. The first chrome manicure & regular pedicure I got was great. It did chip a bit earlier than expected (about 10 days) for the price but I understand that things happen, even with gel! My last visit to spruce, the pedicure was great. However, my ombré French chrome gel manicure looked amazing when I left the salon. But the tips started to chip within 24 hrs, the day I was leaving for my trip to Europe so unable to call & get it fixed. The photo shows my nails 48 hrs after I got the manicure with all the tips chipped & chrome lifting off. It was especially disappointing as these were my engagement nails. Luckily, the color shift was subtle enough and it was only 1-2 nails so it wasn’t noticeable at first but now it’s pretty noticeable given the amount of significant chipping going on every single finger a week after my manicure. I was hoping that I would be able to love spruce enough to continue to use them for my nail needs during my engagement & wedding activities but unfortunately I am unable to trust that the manicures will last in key moments where it may not be possible to come in to fix. For the price, I expected quality that I could trust to last at least a week. While the manicure certainly could never take away from the excitement of being newly engaged, it is disappointing to be reminded of my horribly chipped nails that I paid $70 about a week ago while admiring my new ring.

I came here for a mani/pedi on my wedding week with my sister. Elodie spent so much time on a sleek french manicure for me and wanted to make sure my wedding nails were perfect. The result was beautiful! It's a splurge but worth it in my opinion, especially for special occasions. Will definitely be back!

I had a pedicure yesterday with Haley. It was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere in the shop is very relaxing and easy. Haley is wonderful! She is very good at her craft and very engaging throughout the visit. Can’t say I’ve ever “enjoyed getting a pedicure before, but yes I absolutely did!

Their late policy is insane. I called just a few minutes after my appointment started to let them know that ive been circling the building and cant find them anywhere. The receptionist gave me absolutely no information on where to park and did not apologize for the confusion OR remind me of their late policy. So then, after finding a parking spot, downloading the parking app, putting in my license plate, paying, walking down the street, and trying to find the place, I finally got there. She said now that your late your manicurist will try her best 🤷🏼‍♀️ and I said okay thats understandable. She then proceeded to tell me that I still have to pay $62!!!!! for a gel removal bc thats all she had time for 😑 I think its absolutely ridiculous that first time customers should have to be held to the same late policy standard when parking is IMPOSSIBLE!!! sure shorten my appointment but it should be illegal to charge me for a service I didnt get when i still show up to my appointment.

All the techs are so nice and conversational. The vibes of the shop might be a bit better than the quality of nails, and the price is a bit high.

I don’t think you can get a better manicure anywhere in Cincinnati, than at Spruce. The ladies that work there are attentive, friendly, and so creative. Every time I look forward to my appointment with Ashley M, and I’m never disappointed. She takes such care to make sure I’m happy with the shape, color, and design. I know a goose may not be for everyone, but she took the time to hand paint it perfectly for me.

I recently visited this nail salon and was impressed with how clean and organized it was. The atmosphere was very welcoming, and the website was easy to navigate, making the booking process smooth. However, while the nail art was cute, I was disappointed with the quality of the manicure itself. The cuticles weren’t cleaned properly, and the builder gel application was bumpy. The gel polish was uneven as well. I appreciate the effort, but I expected better attention to detail for the price.

Spruce did a beautiful job with my wedding nails. I asked for a classic French manicure and the stylist took her time to make sure they were perfect. I am approaching 2 weeks out and not even a chip! The front desk staff was also very kind and helpful. Not my first time at Spruce and won’t be my last!

I’ve been seeing Shannon M for years at Spruce at this point (both locations) & she is just wonderful. Very down-to-Earth, easy to chat with & of course always does a great job on my nails. Spruce itself is just my absolute favorite nail salon for so many reasons. It smells good when you walk in, it’s clean & just overall such a unique nail salon experience. Highly recommend Spruce & Shannon!

This is the best place in the city to get a mani or pedi! It's a welcoming, warm environment and I have had only great experiences. Everyone who works here is absolutely amazing and incredibly talented. I regularly see Shannon for all services and she's wonderful. Shannon is detail-oriented, so creative, and an absolute joy to work with. I highly highly recommend Spruce!

Appointments only- Let me know if it's otherwise... It's very beautiful in the salon. I really wanted to get my nails and toes done, but I was disappointed by the person at the desk with a gold tooth, telling me I needed to make an appointment. I'm sad I really wish it mentioned that here on Google Maps. I walked 2 miles to get there! No one will know it's appointment only if they're not from the area. After writing this review, I see that the owner updated Google Maps displaying "By appointments only". Thanks for doing that.

I went to Spruce Nail Shop for my second time since moving to Cincinnati. The staff is always so friendly and provide a relaxing environment. Spruce's booking process is so easy to customize your experience. I highly recommend Ashley. She is very talented and sweet!

Edited: my poor review is not due to the limited services offered. It is due to the rudeness of the staff during my visit :) but I’ll leave my experience below: Wanted to try this place out, and had acrylics on from an event, so I went in and asked if they could do a fill in. They explained they don’t have acrylic products… so I said that that was fine, I’d be happy to do gel or whatever they offer, and the lady got so rude with me and said that they couldn’t even take the acrylics off and “we literally can’t help you” was her exact words and the only explanation offered to me… never heard of a nail place that couldn’t take nails off to redo them… I was even willing to pay a fee for their time taking them off. But she just turned her nose at me, was very rude, and I left… I understand if it’s not part of their services, and after reviewing the website, I understand the value of having safe nail alternatives for products, polishes, etc. (I actually love that) but I had 3 acrylic nails still on…. The rest were bare nails. So I don’t see how taking them off would have been difficult - hell I could have ripped them off myself and gotten polish lol. OR if the receptionist had explained to me in any friendly manner about the no acrylic thing, i would have understood. But instead she was super rude and just looked at me like I was an idiot for expecting a nail place to be able to help me with my nails lol. I would have come back at another time to try something they DID offer, but due to her rudeness I won’t be doing that.. thumbs down

I LOVED this place!! Such a chill, welcoming atmosphere with the sweetest staff. I had such a nice conversation with Jess, who made me feel so welcome while doing my gels impeccably. Super affordable, safe space for women and queer people (speaking from experience). Would highly recommend!

I had a really frustrating experience several weeks ago that has made me decide to never go back. I tested positive for Covid the day of my appointment, and they used to have a more lenient policy in place for Covid specific instances. They still charged me a 50% cancellation fee even though to no fault of my own, I COULD NOT come in. I provided a doctor’s note and asked to reschedule, and they refused. I understand it’s a policy, however I KNOW if the tables had been turned, and the tech had to cancel on my appointment due to COVID, I would’ve gotten a “sorry for the inconvenience” and that’s that. The reasoning they gave behind charging 50% was the tech was losing money because I had to cancel same day, which I understand. However when you’re in a service based business, people get sick. Rescheduling for the following week wasn’t an option. I was charged $65 and felt like they showed no grace or compassion. So not only did I not get to go to my appointment, I was out $65, and I missed a week of work due to restrictions from Covid, so more income lost. I wish they’d given some kind of resolution potentially for me to pay a 25% reschedule fee as opposed to 50% cancellation fee. I’m really disappointed, because I’ve been coming to Spruce for 7 years. I felt hurt by the entire situation and can’t justify coming back.

Best nail shop I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot). Everyone is so friendly and I consider them people I genuinely enjoy taking with. They are kind, respectful, professional and fun to be around. You don’t get that often with nail salons. Everyone seems to love their job and talks highly of the salon. I’ve never been anywhere so clean either!! Definitely definitely definitely worth the extra money I put in. My standards are too high to go anywhere else, thanks to them.
