Before relocating to Seattle, I had gone to the same incredible salon and stylist for over a decade. Post-move, I was frankly pretty anxious about having to start from scratch. While it worked for a bit to time haircuts to trips back home, I eventually had to face the music that a long-distance (hair) relationship just wasn’t sustainable. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself that my anxiety was for nothing- because Lindsay exists. From our first appointment, she made feel completely at ease. She knocked that first cut out of the park (with an incredible scalp massage to boot) but was kind, professional, and encouraged candid feedback if there was anything I was hoping would be different. Each time I’ve been back I’m equally thrilled. It's such a relief to have a huge move “to do” off my list. Don’t hesitate to book!

Very cute salon with the best stylist, Becca, who I followed when she moved to Spurce! I've been seeing Becca for almost 5 years now and I couldn't recommend her enough. I am thrilled to finally find a hairdresser who I can trust and I look forward to seeing regularly. Her expertise and straightforwardness is unmatched. I am very clueless when it comes to hair and she always gives me the best tips and asks important questions prior to cutting to make sure that I understand how my hair will behave and if I am sure that is what I want (half the time things she brings up don't even cross my mind so I am very grateful to be aware of them ahead of time). I've been always so happy with all my cuts! Not to mention Becca's personality is so welcoming and she really cares how you feel with your new hair, she wants you to feel happy and confident, which I greatly appreciate.

I have been seeing Becca for several years now and love her cuts. She asks clarifying questions to make sure that she knows what I want. She offers great tips on what I can do at home for my hair. She's fun to talk to. And I always wish I was doing something special after I leave her because of how good my hair looks.

Days before my wedding, my previous stylist mistakenly canceled my appointment. I was desperate, crying, and calling around salons to find a decent stylist that could do my hair last minute. This is how I ended up meeting Becca, who not only fixed my hair, but also my bruised ego. I was not ready to get married with ugly hair! Cut to 5 years later, Becca has taught me how to time color appointments without breaking the bank and how to keep my hair healthy between haircuts. My teenage daughter is also her client and always comes back glowing after seeing her. If you end up in Becca’s chair, you are in for a treat. She really takes time to listen and occasionally may even save you from getting my-life-is-falling-apart bangs or help you fix them after you took matters into your own untrained hands.

First time customer. Bought an expensive gift card and never received an email with the code for it. Caused all sorts of problems for my girlfriend. People working were very rude to her and said she "needs to find another way to pay", even though we spoke with someone a few days prior who said they would resolve the issue, and we should just schedule her appointment and it would not be a big deal. In our view, those comments at the checkout counter insinuated that she didn't have the money to afford the service, and in the absence of the gift card, she would be in major trouble. That is incredibly disrespectful and demeaning to someone who isn't a native English speaker. The haircut was fine, but the staff was terrible. Unfortunately she had to go back a few days later do some color work, which according to my girlfriend, was an absolute disaster. After spending $370 for horrible service, she now has to go somewhere else to try to salvage it. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just did a horrible job, as opposed to it being some sort of retaliation for my email complaint to the owner. The owner did not respond to my email. I would take your money elsewhere.

I have trusted Molly to care for my hair for over two decades! I have received nothing but absolute perfection. I especially appreciate the offer of a waitlist for when your regularly scheduled appointment doesn't cover a special occasion that pops up. Salon visits are professional but, most of all, pure delight. Thank you, Spruce Salon and Spa.

I love everyone at Spruce. I have been seeing Becca for hair for the past 5 years and I just love her! My hair has not looked this good in quite some time. I feel cared for and invested in. It is the type of salon that you can leave your worries behind and just be present and be pampered for hours. Don't hesitate to book an appointment with Becca. It has been life changing for me. Molly is experienced and extremely talented. Shop is cozy and product is the best. I have been seeing Molly for the last 20 odd years and decided to get a facial from Christine today as well. My sensitive skin hasn't felt this nourished in a long time. Thank you!

There is something special about small salons and Spruce knocks so many things out of the park! Great stylists, high quality pedicures and soothing skin care services packed into an intimate space. Amazing location and professional all around. I've been going to Spruce for years and recommend the salon highly to people who want high quality salon services from lovely people.

I have been getting my hair done by Molly for the past 10+ years. Originally I was just getting my hair cut, but I became quickly addicted to having my hair colored (I was a box dyer) by her as well. I have a tendency of not knowing what I want coming into the salon, and Molly often has new ideas to try out. She is awesome and super talented!! I have also started seeing Christine for facials a few years back and she’s super too! So relaxing I almost fall asleep.

Love seeing Len! He’s the best. I’ve been going to him for years. I always love his cuts. He’s cut my hair at all lengths from almost a pixie cut to past my shoulders. He does amazing color! I’ve had fun colors like pink and blue, regular highlights, and overall color change. Christine is wonderful! I look forward to my facials. She gives great recommendations too!

Becca has been doing my hair for a couple years now and I could not be happier! My hair is a bright blonde bob and so healthy despite the bleaching. I get compliments all the time. I love the whole salon and Becca is a great hair stylist, great at listening, and always puts me at ease.

Becca is just the best! Her attention to detail could rival Michelangelo. I’ve been blonde for years and Becca was the first stylist who actually listened to my concerns while also being honest about a desired result. She cares about the health of your hair, and she’s up front about letting you know how long a desired look might take. Ya can’t go from black to platinum in a day, honey! I recently decided to really change things up and go red after being blonde for 10+ years, and Becca was all for it! (She was literally giddy while styling it. It was a little weird…) And she knocked it out of the park. One of my favorite things about getting my hair done with Becca (besides the scalp massage during your shampoo) is that you don’t have to make small talk if you don’t want to! She’s not a regular hair stylist, she’s a cool hair stylist.

Currently both my husband and I see Becca, she is awesome and knows what she’s doing. She’s great with my husband’s curly hair which he has struggled to find someone for.

Came here with my fiancé in advance of our wedding this weekend and could not have been more delighted with the experience. The spa and facial treatment we received was the perfect antidote to an extremely stressful week of pre-nuptial logistics. One of the owner/operators Christine took wonderful care of us and was also extremely helpful in assisting us with products for skin care/blemish concealing for our big day. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely be back.

Run, do not walk, to experience Christine's new dermaplaning service; my skin has never looked better. Lindsay is a blonde genius! There are many ways going blonde can go wrong, but Lindsay gets it SO RIGHT, every time. As a small business owner and BRAND NEW mom, she even takes the time to respond to my hair care questions and concerns. When I was concerned it wasn’t the right shade of blonde, she patiently explained how different types of light affect how hair looks and offered to make any change for free. I would recommend her to anyone considering making a change or looking for someone who understands blonde care.

Lindsay is an amazing colorist! I wasn’t sure what I wanted when I initially came to her, but she took my skin color, the fact that I wanted to hide grays, and my lifestyle into consideration, and I came out with the best color! I had been blonde once before, and it was horrible! Really yellow and icky. But Lindsay made my hair look like it was my own natural color. and I love it! I have also received many compliments on it. Even from strangers!. I would not trust my hair to anybody, but Lindsay!

Photos added- notice the green tint and bad cut. Recently had a cut and color with Lindsay. The experience was fine enough overall, not incredibly warm and welcoming but the actual salon is a nice atmosphere so that helped. The results have left me feeling so frustrated. The color was for a blonde foil and the stylist seemed very confident that she knew what she was doing (too confident). I asked for more of a warm tone to remove the yellowish but I left with a platinum blonde with patches of warm spots and a greenish tint. The toner left a purple hue so I was hoping I would like it more after I washed it a few times. While the color is better and manageable, it is still not what I was hoping for. The cut is where I am really upset. It was just a trim, and she did it pretty quickly (too confident). I have straight hair so it's easy to see every strand, she recognized that and assured me it would look blended. It certainly does not, it looks blunt and cheap (like I cut my own hair with kitchen scissors). Some of the strands in the front are longer than the back which is weird. Overall it is just a flat out bad haircut. I did not notice this in the salon because it was styled and I could not tell. Lindsay was also overly happy about the work so I presumed it was pretty good. Even if I wanted I do not feel I could have asked for any alterations in the salon. After a few days I realized just how bad it is. Not wanting to live with this haircut, I called Spruce, and left a message to ask if there is another stylist that could the cut… you would think after spending $350 that there would be an option to revise. Lindsay messaged me and mentioned her surprise and asked if I wanted her to adjust it. I stated I would prefer another stylist, to which I was told that because everyone is self employed that no one would be available to fix it for a discounted rate. Which is fine, whatever, I respect their policy and being self employed. There was no other guidance or direction offered. It was have her fix it or too bad. Nonetheless, I was prompted to write this review because it's just a less than ideal experience and I would rather go to a salon that has more options in a situation like this. Overall, do not recommend this salon, idk how there is so many 5 star reviews. There are way more options in Seattle. And how could a professional “with 11 years of experience” leave someones hair this way.

Since I started getting my hair done by Becca I’ve felt so much more confident in my hair, and honestly my confidence overall has improved!! I was nervous about getting balayage for the first time because I’d never colored my hair, but she does a really good job of listening, asking clarifying questions to make sure we’re on the same page, and always always makes my hair look so healthy and amazing 🙌 She also gives really good advice and is so funny—I always really enjoy catching up with her during our appointments. Couldn’t recommend enough!

The esthetician services from Christine at Spruce are top-tier! I've been for facials, light waxing, micro needling and most recently, a Dermaplaning treatment that painlessly shaved 10 years from of my face. It's sort of incredible. Recommend.

Update June 2023 - Christine in the spa is still incredible. I've gotten a lash lift and brow lamination, microneedling, you name it! She's amazing. I've now also added dermaplaning to my regimine! I might be getting older, but Christine is keeping me looking young. I still highly recommend Spruce!
