Last minute decided to go shortish, always a risky move. Found this place online and called ahead. Told no wait, so went in next day. Seriously glad I did. Long layered, right below ears cut works so well. I LOVE it. Thank you Lee!

Lee specializes in men’s haircuts, but I have been coming to her for years. She does an excellent job with women’s hair as well. I came in with a year of growth and asked to do something drastic: cut lots of layers and add bangs. She totally rocked my haircut and was very efficient and very affordable. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to get a really fashionable haircut at a reasonable price. I tipped her 30% of my total bill because she did such an excellent job and was so nice the whole time. She wants everyone to know that after 3 PM is a good time to show up if you need your haircut.

Saw good reviews and had high hopes! I have long straight hair with a middle part, length is ~5+ inches past my shoulders. I asked for a trim with very subtle long face framing layers, I emphasized VERY subtle a few times and was very specific about the haircut, even showed pic & video of what I wanted and didn't get much response from the hairstylist. I wanted to ask her to repeat back what I asked for bc I couldn't tell if she was listening but I didn't want to be condescending so I just put my faith in her. First issue, I asked for the shortest face layer to be 2+ inches or more below my chin/jaw, but the shortest layer is above my chin. Second issue, one side was cut and blended very well, very subtle like I asked for and looks great. However, the other side is choppy, uneven, and not blending into the rest of my hair whatsoever. I pointed it out at the end to have her fix it and she tried, but it still didn't and doesn't look right because she just over chopped on that side. Third issue, the seats don't lift up high enough so she might have you stand up. There was dark hair embedded into the walls which I had to stare at in my face while standing and getting my hair cut. Last issue, I left to discover my blonde hair trimmings all over my black shirt. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but all she said to me the whole time I was in there was "how was your summer" twice and when I responded in detail, she didn't respond back either time. I guess she forgot that she already asked me that question lol. I think if you're getting a simple trim and going home after, this place is great. Maybe bring a lint roller if going anywhere after.

Straightforward and very affordable haircut. I have been happy with the results so far, though I just ask for a pretty simple men’s cut from a photo. The (only) stylist is also the owner, and has been there for 20 years. Nice and quiet environment. Walk-ins only. Maybe not *quite* the quality of some other salons in Portland, but everywhere else seems to be $40+ for a basic men’s cut and this is only $21… cheaper than Supercuts/greatclips and better quality + experience.

Asked for an asymmetrical pixie with side swept bangs and showed some pictures of examples to show what I meant. My bangs were cut short and too many short layers were put into the "long" side of my hair, making the longest parts look stringy and anemic. I read so many positive reviews before going that I thought I would chance this place. I really regret that choice now. I will not go back and it will take several months to grow my hair back to a point where I can try something even close to what I wanted. The stylist is very nice and the salon is clean, but if you want something even remotely edgy, you should probably go somewhere else.

I had a great experience here. I got a haircut with shampoo and blow dry for only $42. The stylist working on my hair was very thorough and did an awesome job. She gave me a short, summer-ready haircut that I am still loving a week later.

I've been going to Lee for over two decades now, since she was at the older location up on 45th or so. The hair of mine that she cuts is a lot more grey than it used to be but Lee is still the best.

This salon deserves so much more recognition than it is given, I've gotten more expensive cuts that didn't give me the quality I was expecting for the price, this one beats all of them! It's quite hard to find someone that works with straight hair well so this is a godsend, will definitely be back to get all future cuts.

Hard to believe such a good cut can be so affordable. After having several bad experiences with Rudy's I decided to check out Star after reading some reviews, and am I glad I did! Great cut, very affordable, excellent customer service, and a good ambiance too. I would recommend to a friend.

It started out as just a convenient location to get my haircut and now I continue to come back to Lee because she creates a comfortable and friendly environment but most importantly she’s extremely good at giving you a haircut that you will love to show off to everyone.

Q’Lee is by far one of the sweetest and most consistent people who had ever cut my hair. She actually cut my hair for like 15 years! Until my wife started just giving me a buzz cut.. I still pop by anytime I am on division to say hi. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ❤️
