Wilson did a great job with my hair (in my opinion)! I hadn't gotten a haircut in a year and also really don't take good care of it, so it was a total frizzy mess when I went in. I also didn't really know how to specify what I wanted for my haircut, since I've never had hair this long or this curly/wavy before. He was able to take my relatively vague input on what I was looking for and did a great job producing a cut I was very pleased with. Well worth the price for his skill and also the included hair washing.

Wilson is an incredible hairstylist and hands down my most trusted one. I've been getting my haircuts exclusively with him for almost two years now, and he never fails to deliver exceptional results. His expertise is unmatched—most recently, I requested a layered V-style haircut, which can be challenging for many stylists, but Wilson nailed it effortlessly! 12/10! Not only is his skill top-notch, but the price is also unbelievably reasonable for the quality of work. You won't find this kind of value anywhere else in San Francisco. If you're considering this salon, make sure to ask for Wilson—you won't be disappointed. Just a heads-up: the salon tends to be quite busy, so it's a good idea to consult and book your appointment ahead of time, and double-check your slot before heading over. This is a very good hairdressing experience. The hairstylist's name is Wilson, and I made an appointment in advance to have my hair done. The hairstylist is very easy to communicate with. He will help trim my already dry hair and shape it beautifully with a sense of layering. He washing my hair after dyeing it for me. I feel so comfortable that I almost fall asleep. When blowing my hair, he is also very careful and patiently teaches me how to take care of and maintain my hair. After blowing my hair, he helped me curl it up. The dyed hair color was very restored, which was the effect I wanted. Paired with curly hair, it looked even better. I think this is a great hair salon, highly recommended!

loved my hair cut by wilson!! wilson definitely has deep expertise and his own vision - he is both detailed and sees haircuts as an art. I showed him a few inspo photos, and it felt good being able to entrust the execution to him. must go for asian hair - they specialize in that. also affordable and flexible - I called in an hour before and was able to walk in. also so cute they recorded & edited this haircut video for me so I could relive the process. overall 10/10 experience!

My favorite hair salon in the city! Seriously perfect for Asian girls and guys. I’ve always had long hair, but I decided to try a medium-length cut for the first time, and the barber absolutely nailed it. The bangs turned out awesome too!! The whole experience (wash, cut, and blow) was $55 before tips.

That is really excited to get a pretty hair cut and fashion hair shape back. The Hairstylist really professional and super patient. After hair cutting he taught a lot skills and tips for how to make and maintain a good hair shape with the hair dryer and wax. I love here so much. Highly recommended to anyone who wanna have a try about the really popular hair shape. 🥰

Very professional with great passion! I love to come here to let Wilson straighten and cut my hair. He always know how to do it very professionally and also keep in mind about my hair's healthy. I shared my thought with him about getting a Hime Cut，he designed it based on my face instead of copy and paste the photos I show him. I really enjoyed my new hairstyle. He really pay attention to the details, know how to make my hair pretty in a natural way. He also taught me skills about how to take care of my hair and how to cut my bang on my own. Both of us enjoyed this new haircut. Well done!

Best hairstylist i ever known because I been with Wilson since I was a kid. Been over 10 years with him and never disappointed me at all. If you want to dye your hair he has the best recommendations that fit your style. I highly recommend it to friends and family!

Wilson is truly a professional hairdresser, he knows what he is doing! My hair was very curly and damaged, but he fixed and straightened it, I’m very happy I found him. I do recommend him 100%

Wilson is the best! the best hairdresser I’ve ever met. Every time I go in, he takes the time to chat and really understand what I’m looking for. He gets that everyone’s hair is different, so he always finds a way to make it look its best. I’ve already recommended him to five friends, and they’re all super happy. I had an amazing experience at this hair salon! The stylist was incredibly professional and attentive. I did balayage one year ago and had patchy hair color now. They carefully assessed the base color of my hair and decided to apply the color in three stages to get the perfect shade. The final color turned out exactly how I wanted, and I absolutely love it! The haircut was also done with great precision, and the stylist continuously checked in with me to make sure I was happy with the progress. The pricing was very reasonable for the quality of service provided. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a skilled and thoughtful stylist!

Sincerely thankful to have met Star Hair Salon. I hv went to more than 10 hair salons, either walk in or call to make appointment, hardly available nor friendly to asian. This is the only salon that is professional not only in haircut, colour but also HAIRWASH & BLOWDRY. The staff is all friendly and the environment is cozy! My hairstylist was Sunny. He gave so much attention and time to my hair. He was so detailed with every cut, and he was meticulous by splitting my hair layer by layer, and carefully cut/trim them. I really appreciated his thoroughness. Another lady staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I think the owner’s haircutting skills are good, but the other employee’s skills are quite average. Maybe he has a foundation, but his cuts are really just ordinary and not very detailed. I feel like I didn’t get my money’s worth. I’ve recommended other people to this shop before, but in the future, I might not visit because I don’t want to be randomly assigned to an apprentice.
