Just got a haircut at Steele Salon by Talor and it was one of the best haircut experiences I ever had!! Service was excellent, Taylor is a great communicator, and the staff went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Alexa gave me a fresh cut! Came in wanting to change it up and was so happy with my new hair. I’ve always had a long blunt hair cut, but wanted something that worked well with my wavy hair and didn’t need any heat or maintenance! Thank you Alexa :)

First time customer and just got my favorite haircut ever. It’s the get home and keep checking it out and playing with it every time I pass a mirror haircut. I’ve gotten so many compliments. Best part is I can style it easily. It’s just amazing what a new haircut can do. Ill be back to see Sher!

Sher was absolutely amazing! She gave me probably my favorite haircut I have ever gotten and is so friendly and welcoming. She also gave me a lot of tips on good products to use and how to style my hair post-haircut. 10/10 recommend!

As the best Aveda Demi colorist I've ever had, she has guided me through so many hair growth and style transformations with ease and expertise. I absolutely love my new haircut! I was gifted an appointment by my daughter for my 63 birthday. I was in dire need of an updated style, and Alexa was the perfect fit. She took the time to figure out exactly what would work for me, and helped me try a completely new style that looks absolutely fantastic! The salon was beautiful, and everyone was very friendly.

I recently visited this salon for the first time. Juliet cut and styled my hair. The result is fantastic! The products she recommended met my needs precisely. She solved all the little annoyances and problems I was having in maintaining my hair. My hair now has more hydration, less frizziness, and a bit more hold (but not too much). Her approach was customized to my needs and had high attention to detail.

I asked Alex to make the bangs I currently have the teeniest bit thicker. Unfortunately, my bangs are significantly thicker and chunky and he changed the shape of them. They are now very wide bangs and not a good look for my face shape. My original bangs used to be much more narrow and flattering on my wider face. He cut off my face framing pieces without consulting me as well. Now I need to wait for them to grow out. Perhaps there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding. However, my other stylist from Gene Juarez will ask follow-up questions and check in before cutting my hair to make sure I get exactly what I want. The past few times I’ve gone here, I’ve asked for some modern Asian haircuts and provided pictures and have been disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for modern Asian hairstyles. The staff are nice and the place is clean though. Update: I shared my concerns with the staff and they were nice enough to refund me and offer to fix my hair.

I waited a few days to review and YES, I DID get an amazing haircut! In the past at other salons, I’ve had what I thought was a good haircut only to go home, wash it, and realize it was just good styling. With my haircut from Juliet, I not only loved the cut, it’s been great every day since! I’ve styled it with a curling iron, blow out with a hair dryer, and even left it to dry naturally. All three have been amazing. Thank you, Juliet. You understood my hair with ease and my hair looks amazing now.

Taylor and the team at Matthew Salon saved my hair. I was box dying my hair and it was dead as usual. When I finally started seeing Taylor my hair was barely shoulder length and not healthy. It’s been around a year since I’ve seen starting consistently going to this salon and stylist and my hair has never been this long/healthy! Taylor has helped me reached my hair goals. She always listens to what I want and helps me understand what’s possible. On top of that she also helped me start wearing my hair naturally by showing me how to style it. She also does my husband’s hair as well. He has a lot of hair and doesn’t like having it cut short at the barbers. Taylor does an amazing job of styling and cutting his hair as well!

I started getting my hair cut by Alexa last September. I had gotten a horrible haircut and I needed something that looked decent. She was able to fix my hair and has given me some of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. She is so talented and fun to talk to. I appreciate her approach to working in a salon. She is so amazing and talented.

First off - 5 stars for Jess' absolutely fabulous color services. I HIGHLY recommend her, taking me from an auburn demi to a natural ashy bronde. Her skill is frankly unmatched. However... 3 star review is about the salon's value and scheduling. I stopped coming here a combo of moving to the Eastside where it took me 45 min to drive in + hard time finding parking, plus notably big price increases over time. I've been getting color done for 2-3 years, my last bill was $500 not including tip for a full balayage and tone alone on shoulder length, fine hair. I was SHOCKED as this is a noticeable increase from when I first went to the salon. I don't think I spent more than $300 incl tip. In this inflationary environment plus gas prices I just can't justify it. Now at a nice salon on the Eastside I can get a similar service (though I admit not quite as good as Jess) for $150. Frustratingly, color and cut is not priced on hair length or time spent. Also, you can't book color and cut together because the stylists are independent and you can't book a color online, you need to call. And cuts are now $100+ w/o tip. So you could run ~$750 up for a balayage/tone/cut without products, which is outrageous to me as this is a quality salon, but it's not like they do celebrity hair.

I always look forward to visiting this Aveda salon and enjoying the Aveda tea while waiting for my facial appointment. JoAnn is pleasant and skillful. She also does a great job with facial waxing. Glad that I found this place.

I saw Jessica Dodge for highlights and a hair cut and she was fantastic! You can tell she keeps up on current hair trends and she had excellent recommendations for coloring, haircare tips and products for me. She even included a hand massage with my service which was wonderful! Everyone at the salon was welcoming and friendly. I have received so many compliments on my hair - I will definitely be returning! Thank you to Jessica for making me feel so confident and beautiful!

I scheduled a haircut at this place before a wedding and had no idea what I would be paying. They charge based on the stylists' experience, and even then, it's a range of $30-75. And let me tell you, it's never gonna be $30. They offer free beer while you wait for your cut, just make sure you ask because they offered me "something to drink" and my simple minded self just asked for water, not knowing I could have a cold one while I waited. I forgot my stylists name, but she did an okay job. Nothing I couldn't get at another barber shop for half the price. It's kind of overpriced, but I'm guessing because it's part of the "spa," they have to upcharge the men's cuts too. I ended up spending about $75 after tip. They allow you to schedule your appts right away, too, so that's nice. Overall, I was unimpressed by the cut, considering how much I spent. And I wasn't amazed by anything they had to offer product wise. Keep in mind that I am just rating the barbershop side. I have no clue a out what goes on in the spa end of the business. Staff was also very friendly.

I worked with Alexa. She was amazing! My hair is very curly and hard to work with however, she and I saw the same vision for my locks and Alexa brought it to life! Sort of a sunkissed medium length surfer style. Balayage, a cut, a nice neck massage, and a satisfied client.

Matthew Steele is a fabulous salon. I have seen Jessica consistently for over a year - she is talented, personable, and detail oriented. She provides hand massages at the bowl and aromatherapy shoulder/neck massages at the chair. I always leave the salon feeling confident and relaxed. I was seeing Jessica prior to a brief move to CO and upon my return to WA, she not only color-corrected the mistake of other stylists but elevated my hair to new heights. She is a doll and gets it right every time. Certainly the best stylist I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. I cannot recommend Steele any higher!

One of the worse salon in Seattle, wasted $650 to have my wife hair totally way different color than what she asked for, unprofessional stylist and rude owner who made the situation much worse and didn't help us, we had to cancel our wedding cause of the horrible experience we had, never go waste your money there, it's such a waste, they charge so much money from you to ruin your hair, such a disappointment.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Taylor! She gave me the perfect long bob cut and natural highlights I had wanted for so long. She always takes the time to really listen to what I want. The cut is so modern and amazing, and the highlights are so natural looking; I have received many compliments. If you have very dark hair and want natural-looking and shiny highlights, you should definitely see Taylor. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new look or a change.

The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. My colorist, Jessica, is a complete artist and we just celebrated our two year hairversery. I feel completely pampered and cared for whenever I see her- highly recommend :)

This review is long overdue, but I want to give a huge shout out to Taylor Poitras. She is an absolutely amazing stylist and colorist! I started seeing Taylor in the latter half of 2020 after my former stylist left. As a person who’s had bad experiences in the past (both with color and cuts), I was a bit nervous to start over with someone new. From the beginning Taylor has been awesome; she listens and checks in throughout to make sure your hair is everything you want it to be. Also, her hand massages are AMAZING. Anyway, at the end of last year, I decided I was finally ready to try adding some color again and I knew Taylor was the only one I’d trust to do it right (seriously, take a look at her instagram; she does incredible work). It’s been a year since I’ve been rocking my full balayage and I LOVE IT. Taylor is truly an artist. I get compliments all the time and my hair is still so healthy and shiny! Okay one last thing — on a more personal note — Taylor is a wonderful human. Every time I’m in her chair I feel like I’m with a friend and, regardless of the week or month I’ve had, I always leave her chair feeling refreshed, beautiful, and happy. Go see her!!
