I came here several times to buy my shampoo and styling cream and they are always out of stuck but finally they offered to order it for me and they themselves offered 25% discount for the inconvenience and agreed that I pay when I pick it up, after a week of waiting, I stopped by to pick it up and they said there's no discount and the owner said she will give me 15% max. I refused to pick it up because of principal not money and I won't come back here anymore.

My sister in law and I made blow out appointments with curling iron add ons because we are in town for a wedding. Let me start by saying her hair came out great - mine, just average. What I don’t get is the price. My sister in law’s stylist was clearly way more experienced than mine and we both have long hair but hers is 10 inches longer than mine (my hair took half the amount of time as hers) yet the owner/manager charged us $65 each for a blow out. When I checked out the hostess told me my the curling iron would be an extra $10 which seemed reasonable since my stylist spent about 5-10 minutes doing it. But then the owner/manager came over and said it was actually an extra $25. I immediately questioned her because at most you could call my “curls” waves - they looked nice but I did not leave with “wedding hair”. Of course I was too nice and gave the stylist a $16 tip. So basically I spent $101 to have kind of nice hair from a salon in a strip mall. I live near NYC and am used to pricey salons - but they don’t charge $65 for junior stylists - and when you pay $100 for your hair you look like you did. I should also mention my hair is very easy to style because it keeps its shape extremely well. I go to the salon once a week because my blow outs last that long and keep shape until day 6. I never need hair spray either. So I have easy hair to style and I’ve had 1000s of blowouts in the last 30 years. I know what I am talking about. In summary its a nice salon but totally over priced (based on who you get). Be sure to ask in advance or the owner/manager will surprise you and you will feel frustrated the way I do. Please note my sister in law - with hair down to her waist - who was with a senior stylist - and was charged the same as me for twice as long - left with hair that looked like $100. It unfortunate that the owner/manager let us walk out like that which is why I decided to write a review (something I don’t take lightly). This review is not about whether or not my stylist did a good job - its about the value of what you get for the cost - which I don’t think is consistent - and the owner/manager should probably address if she wants customers to return and recommend the salon.

I made an appointment in the morning to get a fade haircut during my lunch break in the afternoon. when I show up the salon artist is 15 min LATE and then tells me SHE CANT DO FADES. so I waste my entire lunch break driving 10 min both ways just to be told they can’t do what I scheduled an appointment for! on top of all this , they were unapologetic and DID NOT OFFER any reconciliation or alternate solution. some of the most HORRENDOUS customer service EVER . yet these same people expect tips. The late salon artist was “Amparo” and the receptionist with no name tag present at 3:30pm Aug 9. You people should be ashamed of yourselves !

I wasn't expecting to get my hair done today but they fit me in I live the way I look after having the same hair cut after 13 years I look younger I look good and feel amazing it's exactly what I want. I just got my hair cut by Erika. She did a great job refreshing my grown-out bangs and updating my hairstyle. Erika is a sweetheart, her warm personality really put me at ease. I've been to Strands a few times. Their haircuts are solid and I'm a big fan of Aveda products. I'll be back again.

My teen son is not good at communicating so when I sent him go the salon to get his long hair cut, he came home very unhappy. He realized it was not the hairdressers fault but it still needed to be fixed before he left for his trip. We booked with Rebecca last minute. She was AMAZING & did exactly what I asked. I knew what my son wanted & could verbalize it better, so I made sure I was there with him when seeing her. He left the salon feeling better about his haircut & we will certainly return to Strands in the future.

I went in to literally just get a root done. She put the bleach on my head, then came back (after it was all applied) and asked how long it took for my hair to process. I told her I didn’t know and then she took the bleach off, and guess what! It was too dark. She then tried to just tone it and it made my hair different colors. I sat in the washing bowl for about 2 hours listening to her ask other employees for help/advice, and did not know what she was doing. The icing on the cake was she blamed me! She told me I should have scheduled a longer appointment, and told her what my hair was like. My roots turned a darker strawberry blonde compared to my very icy blonde hair. My hair stylist back at home told me she darkened my hair 3 shades by putting her toner all over it 3 times and my roots had to be fixed again. Basically, we spent full price $175 along with me having to leave with wet not styled hair (we ran out of time because she spent 4 hours doing something that should have taken 2 max) and was blamed for it. Do NOT recommend this place.

My wife took our 2 daughters to this salon for Keratin complex treatment that costs $1020 before their school started. The results of the treatment were so bad even by the stylist and the owner's admission. Owner keeps blaming the result on the product the salon uses and said she will contract the company. Following the bad results we asked for a full refund but the owner kept insisting on giving them another treatment. Given the horrible experience and the emotional stress our daughters experienced, we did not want the Salon to apply yet another low quality product to our daughters hair and take a big risk nor did we want our daughters to go through yet another emotional stress and disappointment. I tried to resolve the issue with the owner but she was so rude and completely unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and save your money and your hair from the low quality products the salon is using.

This is the worst experience I have ever had. I took my 2 daughters to the Strands Salon for Keratin complex treatment before their school started. The treatment for both of them costs $1020. As mentioned in their website, this treatment is supposed to last from 3 to 5 months. After 3 days of following all instructions( No sweat, no wash, Applying sulfate free shampoo after 3 days). Their hair turned out terrible and became more curly and frizzy than before. The girls and I were shocked and stressed at the results. I took them back to the salon and the owner and the stylist agreed that the results were terrible and the owner blamed it on the product they used for my daughters’ hair. I requested a full refund but the owner refused and insisted on blaming the product they used and offering to apply another treatment. But I’m no longer comfortable or willing to trust them to apply any low quality product on my daughters’ hair. The owner was so rude and kept me waiting on the phone for a long time and at the end she just hung up. I would definitely avoid this place at all costs. Do yourself a favor and save your money and your hair. This place doesn’t deserve even one star!

This was my first visit and I was lucky enough to get Amparo. She specializes in color correction and my hair was a disaster. I'm so happy I've found my stylist and my go to salon!!! I recommend this salon!

Worse hair cut experience ever. Hair stylist was in so much rush like she is going to miss her flight or something. I was able to clearly see my side burns aren't balance but she insisted they are. They charge well but can't give their clients the time, attention and care they deserve during hair cut. Never ever I'm going there.

I go to Strands to specifically get my hair done by Michael Joseph! He is absolutely the best when it comes to cutting and styling long hair. I prefer long hair on me so I typically ask for long layers when I get my hair cut. Michael cuts in such a way that my layers grow out very nicely, which means my hair will have style to it for several weeks after getting it cut! Michael is so awesome! Whether he blow dries my hair with a rolling brush or curls it with a hot iron, he always makes my hair looking so fabulous by the end of my appointments with him. If you want your long hair done right, go to the master pro...go to Michael Joseph!
