I had a disappointing experience with this salon. I called three days in advance to confirm the price for a balayage + toner and was told it would be $180 for new clients, including toner. However, when my wife went for her appointment, they changed the terms. They claimed the new client discount only applies on weekdays, which was not mentioned during the call. Although they eventually honored the discount for the balayage, they charged extra for the toner, despite clearly stating over the phone that toner was included in the $180. When my wife mentioned this, they just laughed it off. The balayage itself looked nice, but the misleading information and unprofessional attitude were unacceptable. We won’t be returning.

Irene was so wonderful. I have curly hair and am usually so hesitant to get my hair cut at new places but she gave me my favorite hair cut of all time and dyed my hair so beautifully. She was so kind and patient and communicative the entire time. I’m honestly so happy to find my new favorite salon in New York! I highly recommend

Murad is amazingly talented at what he does! Coloring my hair for over 20 years he’s by far the best at capturing the perfect color for me that looks natural and bright. I trusted him with shortening my hair 6+ inches and have kept the hairstyle ever since! I can show him one picture of a cut or color and he not only brings to life but tailors it to a way where the color and length and cut look ideal for me. I’ve never gotten so many compliments and feel like I finally found my ideal color and cut with him. He’s the best!

Murad is the best!! He is meticulously precise with blonde highlights, far more than most other hairstylists. He made mine exactly what I wanted, soft and natural-looking but still bright, and even grown out several months, the quality of his work continues to show. He’s quick and efficient too! A real talent ☺️💯 And his pricing is definitely the most reasonable in the area! Definitely recommend him 10/10

Best hair salon in NYC! I can’t say enough good things about Murad! He’s incredibly talented with color and cuts, and every time I leave, I feel like a new person. Murad makes the whole experience so enjoyable and always knows exactly how to make me look and feel my best. If you want a fabulous hairstyle and to feel beautiful, Murad is definitely the one to see!

Love love Murad!!! I go to him weekly for a blow out and be consistently does a perfect job! Love going to this salon! The staff is great and the salon is clean. Highly recommend if you live in NYC!

Went in to get my hair curled for a special occasion. The curls did not even last for 12 hours! They promised the curls would be tight and hold for a few days. The picture included shows their version of “tight curls”

Worst Experience! Not Recommended for men’s haircut. Went here for a haircut. Showed a reference picture and clearly explained my expectations (I wanted a side trim and medium length on top). As usual, they started with the sides. I was happy with how it turned out and let them continue on top. It started quite fine as well and I don’t know what happened suddenly they started cutting my hair like a grass and the length was completely gone. It was so short that I couldn’t even comb my hair. It’s like they work with their own ideas and don’t even consider our requirements. I am so disappointed.

I had a wonderful experience getting my hair done with Zak! I wanted long layers but was worried I would lose too much length. He was very reassuring, showed me how much he would cut and kept it long just like I asked. Zak definitely respects long hair! He also did a subtle chocolate balayage which looks great and keeps my hair dark but adds a nice dimension. He is amazing at what he does and I will definitely be back. Thank you Zak! Hairdresser and salon was amazing, the hairstylist was professional and cut and styled my hair exactly like I had wanted! He was the first person to cut my hair correctly and it looked great after the cut. Definitely recommend!

I went in for a single process color and the staff and quality of work was good, but my hair is black now. I naturally have medium-brown hair and asked to go a little darker, but now have completely black hair. I have never ended up with black hair anywhere else, but I guess that is the price I pay for trying to save money. I didn’t have time to complain and have them fix it so I will be stripping my hair using clarifying shampoo. *edit* removing all stars because they are lying. I have attached a picture of my natural hair color and the color is left in my hair after trying everything to remove it. You can’t tell me that color is “dark like my natural roots.” It is black. And now I’m stuck with black hair for next few years because I don’t want to bleach my hair. My hair already felt damaged when I left the salon (it was healthy before I went in) and I was looking forward to growing it out. It also isn’t possible for the last salon to have gone too light since I’ve never bleached my hair … I’ve never had issues with my hair feeling damaged after dye anywhere else. Guess I’m stuck looking like Morticia Adams for the foreseeable future. Don’t go here. Spend more money and get good quality work done somewhere else.

Impeccable facilities and friendly staff. The young man who washed my hair gives an amazing scalp massage. Zak is an excellent stylist, he’s very meticulous in his work which I appreciate! Nothing about my visit felt rushed, as should be the case in a quality salon. The prices are also very reasonable for New York.

I’m really disappointed with my experience at this salon. I had such high hopes based on all the positive reviews. I went in for a routine shampoo and blow dry. The shampoo was pleasant but it was downhill from there. I asked plainly, several times, for my hair to be blow dried straight and swept back — no roundedness or excessive volume. I even showed them pictures (see the photos attached for comparison; what I asked for versus what I got). It was so bad that they switched stylists halfway through and still managed to mess it up. My hair was an overprocessed wreck from being sprayed down with water and blow dried repeatedly. This was a total waste of time and money for what should have been a very simple task.

I’ve been going back and forth on leaving this review, but each day I’m more frustrated. I went in week before last for a cut, I told him I wanted to keep as much length as I could but that I knew I needed to cut alot to get rid of my split ends and old color in there. Idk the name of the guy I had this time but it all went terribly from when he started brushing my hair after the wash, he ripped through my hair sooo harshly I was in shock, the wash guy hadn’t put conditioner it seems and this guy didn’t bother putting a detangler or anything and you could visibly see my disbelief as he continued to brush very roughly (I promise I’m not exaggerating). I had told him I wanted to redo long layers I had - to also help with the split ends/unevenness- and then long bangs and framing down the front. The cut went by very quickly, I was surprised, and then when he went to blow dry he did not put any heat protection or oil on before blow drying again very roughly. When he was done I could tell there was still way more dry ends left than I had wanted but couldn’t tell fully since it was blow dried. After getting home and now washing and air drying My hair is WAY more split and damaged than before I went in, which I didn’t even know was possible. I’m so frustrated and sad, I feel my hairs ruined and will definitely need another cut to fix it, after already paying $85 at this place for a wash and cut. Wouldn’t recommend coming back unfortunately —- Review & pics from March: Zak was awesome. I Came in for a late last minute appointment and he was still willing and able to help. Was super overdue for a cut so he helped get rid of all the dead ends I wanted and do the hairstyle I wanted. Highly recommend :)
