I got a digital perm and they did an amazing job! They really took their time putting in each roll because I had so much hair. The entire process took about 2 hours but was definitely worth it. I’m in love with the results!

THE BEST. Lily is amazing. She always makes time for me and her colleagues are great as well. I will not go to anywhere else in the city!! Thank you lily and Sunny’s salon! UPDATED 1/13/25: Again. Cannot stress enough how great this place is. GREAT QUAITY FOR GREAT PRICE. I came in for a haircut. Lily and her colleagues cut, washed, and curled my hair. So efficient and nice employees. I got my first ever perm here and I love the results! For short hair, they have a $80/90/100 option depending on which solution you’d like, and it came with a haircut. They did a great job replicating the photo I brought in. Will definitely come back here!

Lily did a spectacular job. I showed her a reference photo and she gave me exactly what I asked for, a lovely pixie cut. My bangs look amazing. Will definitely be coming back here! Highly recommend for women with short hair.

Lily is a very compassionate person. It was pretty busy inside, but despite all of that, she still took her time to into cutting and styling my hair. It never felt like she was rushing to finish my hair. She worked with me every step to make sure she understood what I wanted. On top of that, my haircut was pretty affordable. I highly recommend Lily!

My mom and I both loved our haircuts!! They were $35 with wash and blow dry. We are so happy! Everyone there is very talented and has been cutting hair for decades. I have wavy curly hair and they didn’t have any issues with my texture. We will be back.

I got a perm here from Lily and Alison and I love it!! They were so thorough and friendly and took their time with every strand. They also gave great instructions on how to take care of curly hair since this my first perm and gave me some snacks because it took so long since I have so much hair. Other places charge $300-$500 but this place was $200 with tax and tip included!! I would recommend you his salon to anyone who wants a quality yet affordable perm.

Lily is my favorite hair stylist in the city! I’ve been going to her for many years. She is incredibly welcoming, and always takes the time to understand exactly what I wanted. She’s amazing at cutting bangs, her precision and attention to detail is second to none. Not only that, her price is also unbeatable. High recommend this place for a haircut!

Lily did a fantastic job with my hair! My long hair was below my shoulders, and I wanted a layered pixie cut for summer. Lily did a very thorough and professional job, giving me the best cut for my hair texture/volume. I will be back!!

I would not recommend going to this hair salon. Lily did not even ask me what length i want my hair to be, she literally chopped it after the wash. Who does that? On top of it she literally made me sit for more than 30 minutes.

I like this place to do my hair, hair dyed and wash and cut and blow dry, not only their price is very reasonable and confortable , especially for their service, their service is very nice and they pay attention on your hair. I have them do my hair over 10 years, once you come to do once, then you will like them , hope this will help you if you are looking for a new hair salon

I’ve been going to this salon for many years and always ask for stylist Mei. She’s quick and does a great job every time, leaving me very happy with the results. It’s a good place with reasonable prices. I definitely recommend Mei if you're considering a new stylist.

Mei has cut my hair for nearly a decade now. Even though I don’t speak enough Chinese to have a conversation with her, she always makes me look good and the cuts are very fast and very affordable. A haircut from Mei at Sunny City is always one of my favorite Chinatown experiences.

the worst hair salon experience in my whole life. they dyed my hair twice to get the color i wanted. and for cut my hair, they have no idea what they are doing, so terrible, after everything is done i exploded cuz my hair was horrible. i was asking to leave but they insisted to fix my hair and kinda force me to sit back on the chair. i was so upset to let them cut my hair again, so i left and they still charged me 150$ for everything. i wanted to just let it go but my hair looked so so so horrible so after i left i went straight cross the street to the different hair salon to fix my hair. and eventually i can breath. and btw highly recommend the hair salon cross the street named "Vone Beauty Salon".

Look I’m really picky with my hair, and for $15 for a cut and wash I’m definitely not disappointed but also not happy. There seemed to be a lack of understanding as I asked the gentlemen 3 times if he was going to do the skin fade. After expressing certain regards, a few simple nodding of the head I assumed he understood me, but no… it’s a little choppy and he didn’t do the fade at all but I will say at least he kept it at the length I asked. Went once but probably won’t go again, however; it is $15🤣

Lily is an excellent hairstylist. I’ve been getting my hair cut by her for almost 20 years now. She is very patient, skilled in hair cutting, and with reasonable prices. The place is easy to find in Chinatown, clean and spacious. They cut hair for children, women, and men. Highly recommended!!!

Lily at Sunny City Beauty Salon was great. I was time crunched so she made suggestions on what to do with my hair and was super detail oriented. I’ve done perms, cuts and color with her and have been satisfied every time! Color + trim = $95 Perm was around $100 but that might have changed English friendly (iykyk).

The worst haircut I’ve had in my entire life. They will ruin your hair if you go here. They take the scissors through your hair and don’t listen to you at all. I said I wanted my bangs at eyebrow length and she cut them an inch above and thinned out half my hair which she called “layers.” They are also super aggressive and almost pulled my earrings out three different times. If I could give it zero stars I would. Stay away.

no frills but great prices and nice people :) they do a very thorough shampoo (my favorite part). if you don’t speak chinese, bring pictures, since the english might not be the best there might be a wait, depending on when you go and in response to some of the reviews on here, no doubt the prices have gone up in the past several years and maybe since changing management, but they’re still very affordable especially for nyc - they don’t steal your money like some people are insinuating (ps i recommend mei)

Great experience - Lily was able to fit me in last minute and gave a great haircut. She was attentive and listened to exactly what I wanted (long layers, face framing bangs) and also gave her opinion when appropriate. Would visit again! Super friendly and laid back experience. She is an EXPERT!

WORST HAIRCUT EVER!! I have numerous photos of styles I wanted, and the lady completely ignored me and chopped up my hair. The 'bangs' she gave me were messy, uneven, and not even the style I asked for. I asked for thin front bangs, and she instead chopped large clumps of hair on the left side of my head. Worst haircut place ever, won't ever be back.
