i’ve had my hair both cut and colored by Gina and it’s been an awesome, affirming, attentive experience every time! they’re great at working with your budget to get you hair that makes you feel good. I’ve gotten a shullet and toning from them for my bleached hair.

Gina is an absolute gem! Found them on Instagram looking for a total transformation on my hair. I have fine, straight hair [not a ton in terms of density and length] and they were able to create texture and movement in a cut/style that I didn't even know was possible [bonus that it requires minimal effort/products to make it look good!]- I can always highly recommend Gina if you are looking for a phenomenal and artistic cut in a cool, inclusive, safe space! I never take selfies on the regular, but I always do after their haircuts! Feels so good and finally love how I look!

Gina is quite possibly the sweetest and most kind person I’ve ever met. They go above and beyond to understand what type of hair cut you want and make it happen! I always feel so much better after going to see them. I always get compliments on my hair cuts too. I would recommend Gina to anyone. 🖤

10/10 best in Austin. I usually cut my own hair but THIS is the only salon I’ll go to and I will always recommend to anyone, as a safe, friendly, creative environment. Gina has never shot down my wild ideas and always exceeds my expectations, and is also very accommodating and makes me feel so comfortable every step of the way. I always walk away feeling like my best self. It’s always clean, smells nice, and they have great affordable and vegan products for sale. You’re missing out if you don’t get a service done here.

Gina has been my go-to for so long now! My hair grows pretty fast so I see them pretty regularly! Every appointment I have a good time :) they're so sweet and welcoming and know what they're doing!! I recommend them to literally everyone 🥰 they always provide me with options and answers anytime I have questions about styling or products. my fav salon 😍

I had a wonderful experience here. Gina really listened to me and spent a long time making sure I was happy with the cut. A week later I wanted it a little shorter and they were able to squeeze me in. I have curly hair so it's sometimes hard to find someone I like and trust. Highly recommend them!

My favorite hair salon! Gina is both wonderfully creative in their skills & ideas while also great at taking direction from what the client wants which is a hard combination to find I feel like. Super chill, a relaxing space with good art. Makes me feel welcome and appreciated as a returning client

Skilled, and so welcoming. Gina is the only person I let cut my hair. Hadn’t seen a professional in years, had been just trimming my own hair, or having my partner do so, until I worked with Gina, who easily won my trust. Gina is knowledgeable and incredibly skilled, without being pushy or patronizing whatsoever. I never feel rushed or pressured with Gina and I truly feel like the experience is about me, a client-centered experience no doubt. Having my hair cut by Gina leaves me feeling more myself.

Cannot recommend this salon and Gina enough! Gina did a FANTASTIC job and was so patient and helpful throughout the entire process. I was really nervous because I was going for a drastic change and was worried about a stylist not capturing the image I had in mind or giving me the haircut they thought I wanted instead of what I was asking for, which was a bit more androgynous of a cut. Gina was so great about going step by step and walking me through what I wanted and helping me articulate what I was looking for. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Also had a lovely conversation with them and the space was super inviting and pleasant!

Jasmine is incredibly perceptive and was 100% accurate in interpreting what I was looking for in my haircut. Jasmine is kind and easy to be with and obviously very talented.

Jasmine took the time to understand exactly what I wanted my hair to look like and she delivered. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because once I got home and my hair completely dried, I took a closer look and noticed I had split ends across my hair (**edit at bottom of review**). I got a lot of hair cut (went from medium length to a very short cut), so the split ends are new. I have never had issues with split ends before. Overall, Jasmine was very sweet and I really enjoyed the experience. I think this salon is worth your time. I will include a picture of my hair in this review so you can see the result, which looks like how I was hoping it to. I am really happy with how it looks and how Jasmine treated me. EDIT: Jasmine reached out very quickly to me to trim up my ends in a couple weeks and get the issue fixed, which I really appreciate!!

I used to live in L.A. and after leaving had a hard time finding someone who could cut my hair the way it was cut there. Usually I would end up crying which I can normally do for free. Now I have jasmine who’s hair cuts don’t make me want to cry. I just can’t ever move again..

Jasmine went above and beyond to give me a great first experience. I was referred to symbolica by two different friends because it is a queer conscious salon. Finally, someone would give me a short undercut and take some of the weight off my hair so it wasn't a pixie or a mom cut. I love the simple design work that Jasmine made for me and that she took the time to cut the bulk out of my hair piece by piece. She also sprayed and massaged a tonic onto my scalp to help the condition I've been fighting for years. Also such a good price for a great haircut! Wowwwww! Thank you so much! I can't wait to come back.

Little known fact around these parts apparently but Gina does FANTASTIC curly hair. I recommend them highly if you have a lot of texture.

Gina took care of me for a full blonde bleach and tone! I’m not kidding when I say their salon (along with Jasmine) is one of a kind. Amazing environment, good laughs and obviously my hair looks amazing. It took about 6 hours so bring comfy shoes.
