So relieved that I finally found a one stop customer friendly natural hair salon that me and my daughter can go. It’s kid friendly!!!! Brittany was so awesome with my six yr old daughter and gentle with her hair!!!! My daughter received a wash, blow dry, cornrow and two strand twisted style just right not tight or pulling at her scalp! She also told me how to maintain it as well! Hurry up and book her today and watch stress fly away!

Good afternoon, My name is Tocarra Jones, and I was last seen at your Raleigh location on 9/3 for Full Coverage Color with highlights and the Pipe Cleaner technique (for locs longer than 12 inches). These services were performed by Chelle. I want to start by saying that Chelle has a wonderful personality and truly makes clients feel at home, which I deeply appreciated. However, I do have a couple of concerns I'd like to share. The first issue was with the outcome of my color, but this has since been resolved by one of the general managers, who was incredibly kind and helpful. My second concern, which I only recently realized, is that a substantial amount of my hair was cut during the same appointment. I initially didn’t notice this due to keeping the pipe cleaners in until 9/22 and only having my maintenance appointment today. Chelle did mention clipping some ends that were breaking off, but it seems much more was cut than I anticipated, resulting in a significant change in my hair length. I've attached a picture from today (left) compared to my previous maintenance appointment on 9/2, a day before my appointment with Chelle, so you can see the difference. Having grown my locs for 5 years, they are very meaningful to me, and I’m understandably frustrated by the amount of hair that was cut. I am sharing this feedback not to assign blame, but rather to provide insight that may help improve the experience for future clients. I’ve also included a picture of how the color turned out, as requested. This is the extremely tactful message that I sent the salon back on 10/18. I sent the message at 9:33am and received a message back at 10:56am stating "Greetings! Thank you for providing us feedback from your previous service. One of our managers will contact you momentarily. -hh" It is now 10/24 and I have yet to receive a callback. I have uploaded five attachments. The first two are pictures of how my color should have looked and what I requested. The third attachment is my hair length on 9/2. The fourth attachment is my hair length as of 10/18, and the last one is a side to side view! As you can see, a SUBSTANTIAL amount of my hair was cut. I know that with locs, ends will pop off from time to time, but my hair was literally cut straight across, as if a 'cut' was one of the services I paid for. At this point, all I wanted was an acknowledgment of the error, which is the least they could do. I spent $225 that day after they refunded me half of the $250 color service. I also paid $90 for my pipe cleaner set and still gave a $10 tip, despite my internal disappointment with the coloring service.

Went in for a simple wash and perm rod set on my Locs at 1030am. Was started on time and I have a lot of Locs so I wasn't expecting it to be quick but during my style the lady servicing me kept saying how I had so much hair & that she didn't think there would be enough rods and how they should have been prepared beforehand.. around 1230 she asked someone to go and buy more rollers so I then sat around waiting for her to get back and then finally at 130 I sit under the dryer. At 3 I politely asked to have my hair taken out because I had somewhere else to go the lady (not my stylist) asked me if my stylist explained the process to me how it takes a long time I said yes. At this point I was so mad from the quality of service I couldn't even argue but I wanted to say maybe if you didn't have to leave in the middle of me getting styled to get more rollers I could have more dryer time!! Waste of money and time and my hair looks horrible. Probably won't return.

Addendum 2: I won't be back. Another stylist charged me extra again for the size of my locs. And the girl doing my hair seemed more concerned about partying & hanging out afterwards than actually doing my hair correctly. Three of your stylists say nothing about how thin or thick my locks are even though at the time my locks were down to my ass. 2 stylists which happen to be the last 2 who did my hair, charged me $20 extra saying that my locks were micro locs when they are not. This last chick had me in and out within I'll say probably 2.5 hours that includes wash and dry and retwist so if I have micro locs don't you think this would have taken way longer than 2.5 hours? Plus where you schedule online, they don't tell you they're going to nickel and dime you because your locs look skinner. DON'T call me this time because I'm not coming back at all, not unless you're refunding me my $20 and tip that I felt slightly pressured to give because the owner asked me about it out loud instead of using discretion and I'm not the type to get loud and rowdy. Y'ALL IF YOU HAVE SKINNIER LOCS, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU EXTRA FOR IT... Even if you don't have micro locs. Don't waste your time and money which is obviously something they need since they're nickel and diming now. Addendum: Henry called and spoke with me this morning. Pretty awesome, I might add. I will be going back. Thanks for caring enough to rectify the situation. I believe I've gotten my hair done here 4 times. I haven't been back since February bc the last time I was there, not only did the stylist ask me if I was told that she'd have to leave & pick up her kids, even though the appts are made online so I didn't get to actually speak to anyone & I'm assuming she knows that. So after she makes me wait for an hour or so, so that she could pick up her kids, she swears up & down my locs are microlocs EVEN THOUGH this was my 4th time coming here and she was the 4th stylist to do my hair, none of the previous 3 said anything about my locs being microlocs (and for the record, they are NOT microlocs, I would know, I've had my locs since 2013 & previous salons I've been to never called my locs microlocs). This stylist added an additional charge bc she swore I have microlocs and then only tells me about the charge AFTER I'd already paid my balance and tipped. I went back to see if I could at least remove the $10 tip but couldn't. When I walked out irritated af that night way later than I should have bc I had to wait an hour before my hair was even washed, I promised I wasn't coming back... but I want to come back, I just don't want this particular person to ever touch my "microlocs" again. I should have reviewed a while ago but these cancellation emails I get all the time keeps reminding me of this incident... which is a shame because the shop is awesome and I've yet to leave there without my locs looking fresh af. Someone recommend this location. After speaking with someone over the phone. She recommend I do consultation, paid the fee. I live over an hr. away, so we set a date for Zoom. I received no call, I then sent two text messages.No reply or refund offered. And she told for service it's half up front. I'm glad I paid for a consultation. I didn't think they were money grabbers. M

I wouldn’t recommend this business. They lack integrity and I will be reporting them to the bank and Better Business Bureau and also taking them to small claims court. It is the principle. They steal deposits and don’t refund them. They claim they cannot give my mother her deposit back after her appointment that she scheduled for the perfect time for her ( she works nationally weekly and is only home on the weekend) needed to be rescheduled. The reschedules they provided her did not work with her schedule and when she asked for the deposit back and they said they could not honor giving her the deposit back. It is shame that they would have the audacity to hold a deposit because THEY needed to reschedule. Lack of integrity!

March 11th appointment review: The salon is beautiful and the vibe us amazing. However, I went to get a complex color, retwist, pipe cleaner curls and trim on my Locs. My appointment was for 2:30pm she didn't start until 3:51pm after she said it would only be a 30 minute wait. I asked for caramel color with blonde highlights. I left the shop at 10:51 pm with dark brown/black hair and 3 blonde highlights, and rope twists. It was 9 pm when she tried to retwist my Locs and put on the pipe cleaners with mousse when I said it's too late just do ropes instead. That service should not have taken 8+ hours and cost $400. Although I loved the shop my experience was not good with my stylist at all.

Had to wait 30 mins past appointment time and just when I was about to leave they like oh your my appointment sorry I forgot. Went to have a retwist of locs and there not even twisted tight there all loose at scalp and there pieces just hanging that didn’t even get twisted was my first time and will be my last time worst place I ever been too wish I could give negative stars

I got the $75 wash, condition and designer cut. I’ve been to Taji’s several times but I’m not a frequent customer so I rarely get the same stylist twice. I may go once or twice a year. I have 4c hair in a taper cut that’s has grown out. I took my chances with a day of/ walk-in to get a wash, conditioner, and cut. I really just wanted to reshape my hair at the length it was into a longer tapered shape. It didn’t come out that way. After going home and styling it’s more of a grown out Mohawk. The stylist suggested that I should get a style when getting a cut service (like coils). I’ve gotten my haircut cut in similar shapes at salons and barbershops without needing a style to fully see the cut and shape. I did appreciate the other stylists providing me with leave-in and cream to curl my hair (it was cut blown out). I give a three because I’ll take responsibility in knowing that I shouldn’t assume anyone available can provide designer cut services. For the future do a consultation or stick with the same or highly recommended stylist for any services that will alter your hair. For day of appointments stick to simple washes, deep conditions and styles.

I would not recommend this salon to color your locks. On the consultation, I felt confident and assured that I will get the color that Daphne and I discussed. When I arrived the day to get my hair dyed. The stylist told me they no longer have the product she promised. Red Flag #1. I should have followed my spirit. Hind sight is 20/20. After three visits of the stylist correcting my color. I am so shame of how my locs looks. It took me ovet 20 years to grow my locs. I don't want anyone to have to experience this. Loss of money and integrity of your locs. Please do your homework, when choosing a stylist or salon.

I recently had my hair done by Christina. At the consultation, I showed her my natural hair with the areas of breakge and thinning. She assured me she could cut and style my hair as the pictures that I showed her. We agreed on shape with style and a protein treatment. The day of the appointment, not only did she arrive late, but took close to 4 hours to finish the job which should have taken nor more than 2.5 hours. She left me under the dryer multiple times for way to long and was going in and out of the salon the entire time I was there. She did not apologize once for her delay. She then proceeded to rush during my shaping and styling, cutting too much off on one side and leaving the front of my hair looking horrendous. After she finished she could see I was not happy with the final product, she then went on about how she couldn't achieve what I expected because of the condition of my hair (which was the opposite of what she told me at my consultation which was in person!). When it was time to pay. She told me the total was going to be $95. But charged me for shape and henna treatment, which was not what I requested, nor had done ( i had shaping and protein treatment which in total was $10 less). The salon itself was nice, inviting and the other stylist seemed welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, because my experience with this particular stylist, I will not be returning. I've never had such a terrible hair experience in my life!

I was serviced and treated by Daphne. I was interested in color and flat twists. She was very warm and personable. She made me feel comfortable and was confident in her styling techniques. I’m very happy with my end result. Thank you Daphne! Highly recommend!

I went to Joann showed her a picture of what I wanted not only did she show out with the style. She made me a fall color for my hair it’s so beautiful. I Love a stylist who is an artist. This was my very first visit I Love the Salon all the beautiful stylist makes you feel welcome. I am very big on customer service and theirs is top notch. Better than Chik’ Fil (I said what I said) will upload pictures later .

Naw naw naw naw to the H.E.L.L naw. I got locs. I asked them for 6 barrel twists, they put 27 Bobby pins in my head. My momma called the salon and told them black men don’t walk around with Bobby pins in their head lol. Naw naw naw. Lady was tryna make my hair cute instead of actually doing my hair. Then when I went back to get it fixed they tried to do my hair so tight that my scalp was pulled into my twist, bleeding and I had to take it out wasting my money. If you don’t know how to do black hair correctly then don’t do it. We spend money to look like acceptable people in society. Don’t come here if u got locs. They CANNOT STYLE LOCS CORRECTLY.

This is my first time at this location. It's larger than the salon in Durham, but it's equally as nice, and people are just as friendly. It was my second appointment with Chelle. She's so personable. I enjoy our conversations. Chelle washed, conditioned, and styled my locs to perfection!! I was pleased and received lots of compliments!!
