I’m feeling a bit disappointed with my experience with Alyssa, even though I did like the haircut. Since I don’t visit salons often, I assumed that basics like a hair wash and blow-dry were included in the haircut price, especially given that the only service I was specifically asked about and opted into was the scalp massage. The haircut was listed at $50, but I ended up paying $120. I would have been fine with the extra cost if I’d been kept informed throughout, especially since I’ve paid more for haircuts before

It's hard to find someone to trust with sharp objects near your head. I've had three barbers/stylists my entire life. The they have all retired and forced me to find a new one. Kira does a great job here. I hope she cuts hair for a long time here.

Daniel is not just a barber, he is an absolute master of his craft! He has this incredible ability to bring out the best in every haircut he does. And let me tell you, when it comes to growing a beard, this man is a true wizard! He guided me through the entire process, step by step, ensuring that I achieved the best results possible. Words cannot express just how incredibly talented he is!

Fantastic service!! They made a very minor error with my appointment time and my haircut was on the house, and they did an awesome job. Immediately made my next cut appointment with them. Come here, you won’t regret it.

Guys had a great attitude, but the guy who cut my son’s hair didn’t listen to him about how long he wanted, and somehow forgot my son asked him for a center part, so he cut one side shorter than the other. My son was pretty upset. We will not go back.

I booked Talc and Tonic last minute on a recommendation. After visiting quite a few barber shops since moving to Chicago, this one feels the coziest. I enjoyed my barber and the atmosphere of this shop tucked away inside the hotel. I’ll be going back.

It is a “Great Clips” but more expensive. Do not expect a fade or a decent beard shape. They truly can’t. Their chairs do not even recline. I wasted time and money.

My barbor, Danny, was so awesome!! He was so friendly and accommodating! Felt like I was making a good ol' friend. He is also an amazing hair stylist and definitely knows what he's doing. I am not knowledgeable on how to properly style my hair, but he took time out of his schedule to give me a proper rundown so I can look *slick* every day. I came out loving the haircut he gave me. Any men looking to get an awesome hair cut, I definitely recommend Talc + Tonic.

So far, so good. One of the better barbershops in town as long as staff don't get complacent with the quality of their work, which seems to be an issue in this industry.

The scissors was with hairs of previous customer, I asked to sanitize them, I was told all clear. Looks like they had very low experience maximum they can do is take of 3mm of hair.

Talc and Tonic is clean, and welcoming. I've been going to see Danny for over a year and have to say he's the best barber I've ever had. Not only is he great at what he does, but is also an exquisite conversationalist and goes above and beyond to keep his customers happy. You really wouldn't be going wrong to give Talc and Tonic a try, and if you're luck enough to snag a spot with Danny you won't be disappointed.

This was the worst beard trim ever. Before making an appointment I asked to make sure it was straight blade and then when I arrived the lady (extremely kind, but can’t remember name) asked if she could do a trimmer instead because it was easier. I didn’t prefer this, but it didn’t seem like she had straight blade experience. Then, I repeated multiple times to not change the shape of the beard, I only wanted it taken down in length and cleaned up. She ended up taking it down on a single side and now my beard looks lopsided with a gaping hole on one side. My wedding event is tomorrow and there’s no way to fix it. Someone who doesn’t take care of a beard shouldn’t be giving beard trims.
