Update: the manager was super sweet and offered all recourses open to remedy this situation. Their response was swift and I really appreciated their efforts to make this right. 'I think the person who did my hair was so sweet, and I tipped them a little because they did the labor. And the establishment seems really cool - I've been wanting to come here for a while. But honestly I came in with hair like the first photo, asked for the second photo and also for two longer braids with the lengthiest pieces of my hair, and I felt they did not properly listen to me. The end result is really not what I wanted at all, the top is round and puffy and the bottom is uneven and straight with little layering. It's a far cry from what I asked for. I even was honest after the hairdresser was done that I wasn't pleased. Super disheartened with this uneven and strange haircut ... hoping in the future the hairdresser (listed as a master stylist) might listen a little more attentively to the client.'

After going here for 5 years without issue I Have an experience with an individual that cuts hair🤷🏻‍♂️. I said I needed to drop some lbs and mentioned that that aforementioned hair cutter looked to have lost some weight… vocalizing not that they needed to. And I received a call the next day about how traumatized everything in ear shot was of me saying this. I’m sorry but this is not the narrative we as a society should be pushing. One of just seeking out ways to be offended and create separation between us as humans, moreover let’s have conversations with each other 1:1 to resolve conflict vs. involving people not even there out of cowardice. I’ll never go back here again and I sincerely hope you spend your money elsewhere if you desire to feel accepted in an inclusive environment as this place is not that and you should take your business elsewhere

WARNING ⚠️ This salon has taken a turn for the worst the service is horrible, also they seem to be flat out money hungry. Do not go to this salon for blonde services or a hair cut! After going here I have to wear a hat or a wig. Absolutely unprofessional unacceptable service. ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️

Got my hair cut today with Knox and had a great experience. Knox was so friendly and great to talk to, and cut my hair just right with very little to go off of as I'm not great with explaining myself. They used a combo of razor, clipper, and scissors for my cut and after getting home and showering to see the final result, I love it even more. Highly recommend coming to work with Knox for a haircut if you have short hair! I will definitely be coming back to see them again as my go-to. Also, they wear a mask every day which is a huge bonus if you prefer to see someone who is cautious about covid still! Thank you Knox!

Aislan did an amazing job! They took the time to discuss & help me figure out what i wanted, and checked in with me throughout the cut. I felt like all my concerns/preferences were heard, and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

talking headz is so awesome! the inside is decorated with a lot of cool stuff and the shop cat is such a cutie. i had my haircut by aislan and he did such a good job !! i got a long shag haircut and have wavy hair! they are super knowledgeable on how to cut textured hair and really make an effort to make you feel comfortable !

Great haircut, I didn't know what style I wanted and they figured out an awesome look for me! Got plenty of compliments the following week about how handsome I looked so I will be going back.

My stylist was real friendly and helpful! I had no idea what I wanted and gave her some creative control - I not only left with a hair cut I loved but even more ideas with what I want to do with it in the future! They definitely knew what they were doing. I’ve always been very hesitant to go to hair salons due to the traditional beauty industry not being my thing, but this was such a welcoming and creative environment! It changed how I view hair salons and I’ll absolutely be back.

Aislan did an amazing job! They took the time to discuss what I wanted done while keeping me informed/ asked me questions throughout the process. It was very comforting. My hair looks beautiful and I love it! ☺️ I will definitely be coming back and have Aislan cut my hair again! The salon in general was a great atmosphere and reasonably priced.

I got a new undercut from Ava. I am very happy with her work, and she took the extra time to explain to my husband and I what she was doing each step of the way. She even recommended some products that we could buy to help maintain this style at home. Would absolutely recommend Ava and Talking Headz :)

Very welcoming environment! Prices are reasonable and location is easy to find. I was nervous as this was my first appointment there and first time getting my curly hair cut. My stylist, Mimi, was very knowledgeable and helped me select a style and had hair care tips. Definitely will recommend to friends.

Great cut, fair prices, friendly service. Aislan was awesome - they completely understood what I was asking for, and checked in multiple times about what length I wanted different layers to be.

I love this place. I got a great ’modern mullet’ from Knox last year and haven’t gone to anybody else since. Love the staff, love the cat, love the gay vibes.

I've been coming here for years and it always has the best vibes and fantastic stylists (at every level!). The products I've purchased from here have been fantastic as well. ALSOOO seeing King Biggie every time reinforces that it's worth every cent of the reasonably priced services. :)

I do like the hair cut I got. That said it was a pretty common cut, and maybe I'm not used to price point in the city, but to me it was pricy.

Ask for Jensen! She’s so fun to talk to and really understands modern haircuts. Best place in Philly for unique cuts and colors. I would only trust this place to do my modern mullet cut and maintenance.

Incredible shop. LGBTQIA+ friendly, the staff are all wonderful, and you get both incredible hair cuts and amazing color. Can't recommend them enough!

She's wonderful and such a delight to work with. I saw her right before the holidays and she was all decked out in her Ghostbusters gear!!! It was amazing. A very safe place for people of all walks of life - QUEER+TRANS SAFE SPACE!
