Joey is the AMAZING! Super patient, detailed and doesnt rush...he cares just as much about me looking my best as I do and isnt afraid to take the time to do it. Cant wait to go back!

I had my haircut by Joey and he did an amazing job! I asked for long layers and he did just that. Definitely recommend getting your hair done by him!

Maria did an awesome job with my daughter's and my haircuts. Best haircuts we've received in all of California, specially given how technically difficult my daughter's haircut is. She also did a great job blow drying my hair, which a lot of hair stylists struggle with on the west coast. There was also a good vibe at the salon; everyone was super friendly and down to earth.

I've never had a bad experience! Been going here for almost a year and have tried Ana, Joey, and Maria as my stylist depending on who is available that day of the week. They all do great work and are ready to bring your hair vision to life.

Hands down best haircut I had in years and I rarely wait more than 12 weeks max. Overall a extremely pleasant experience. First time meeting Joey obviously knows what he is doing.

I have been going to Tavera Studio for a couple of years now and all the staff is so friendly. I love Joey! Joey listens and works with you to find the perfect haircut and style that fits best. I always get compliments on my haircuts by Joey.

Highly recommend! Went here and saw Joey after a good friend of mine recommended him. I was LONG overdo for a cut and color. My color was grown out and I had a good amount of grays. Joey gave me exactly what I had communicated I was looking for, loved how my hair looked leaving the salon. Don’t have a before picture unfortunately but I attached pictures of the after!

Ana, Maria and Joey are all amazing! I have been going to Ana since as far back as I can remember and I have always been 100% satisfied with her work and expertise. Her experience and attention to detail are top-notch. And years ago Maria and Joey joined the team to create the best hairstylist practice in San Diego! I have so much fun coming to the salon and I couldn’t recommend them more!

I have been going to Ana for my haircuts for many years now and I can't say enough good things about this talented hair stylist! I first saw how she magically transformed an older woman's hair with thinning hair and knew right away that she was special. Not only is she the kindest and most caring lady I have met in this business, but her hands work magic on you, always attentive to your needs and wishes. Her other two stylists are great two, in case she is overbooked.

Took me a while to find a good place but Joey always takes his time to make sure you are satisfied. He is so good and patient but also very efficient! I love the way he cuts hair and he is VERY good at layering! I also got a keratin treatment for the first time with him and it was life changing!

Well, where do I start? I guess from the beginning… I have been coming every month to this hair salon for over a year. I only have fabulous things to say about Ana and Joey. They listen and they do an amazing job. Did I mention they listen? They are my free therapy. At the end of my appointment I always look stylish and feel good. Come give them a try!

ive been getting my hair done for years i have never had an experience as consistently amazing as i have with tavera. i see Joey and not only is he incredibly skilled, but his communication is excellent, he’s great to be around and just makes the experience 10x better. genuinely so happy w the service i receive every time i come.

Ana is very good with color techniques. She had added beautiful blonde highlights and low lights for me over the years. She is very detail oriented and always maintains the health of my hair as a priority. Her salon is easy to get to in University City.

Ana is the best in San Diego area. She listens to you and cuts your hair as you desire. My hair is extremely difficult to cut, but Ana does a great job. I absolutely recommend this place.

I absolutely love my haircut 😍 I have long, thick hair and I love all the layers they put in it to make it flowy with lots of movement. They are very skilled at their craft. They paid a lot of attention to each section of my hair when cutting.

Joey was fantastic!! I had the most delightful experience of having my hair cut and styled by Joey! It is one of the best haircuts I have ever had. He listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered exactly what I asked for. Also, he was delightful to talk to and created a comfortable, enjoyable and safe experience. I have very long hair and haven’t had a haircut in a year. Maria was super sweet and she did a wonderful job with layered cut. I am very picky when its about my hair and this was my first visit. Even the lady (I believe Ana) that booked my appointment was so polite and helpful. I would not go anywhere else when I am La Jolla/San Diego. She made my day! Super happy

Best haircut I've ever received. You know it's a good cut when your hair falls into place with little or no effort. I've struggled to find a place that can deal with my fine, straight hair. Most places talk about how difficult it is and say it will take them several cuts to really learn it. Maria said "no problem" and 40 minutes later I've got the best haircut of my life.
