I love my hair. I got boho braids and most times it takes up to seven hours to get my hair done, but not here. It took me a little under five hours. You can tell they take pride in their work. I will be coming back

Fantastic shop. Mimi worked on my hair and she was incredibly sweet. She is personable, professional, on time, and and reasonsably priced. So many shops in Austin are located up north. This one is conveniently in South Austin. Will be coming again.

I can't say enough good things about Mimi. First of all when I walked in the door she greeted me and welcomed me with a genuine smile and she let me know she would be with me shortly. That was appreciated. She kept asking me if I was comfortable during the braiding process as I let her know I'm tender headed. She was gentle and gracious, and kind. Her heart is pure and she truly cares about people. My hair is just lovely and she was finished in only 2 hours, when her website said 3! This is now my go to salon!

Beautiful space and Me-me is so kind and talented. I have been coming back for over a year, Meme always accommodates and never disappoints with new styles I want to try. I ask the price beforehand and she is always upfront. Love my braids! And half the fun is chatting and laughing with Meme while getting them.

These ladies were amazing!! I came to get braided for a 3-day festival and my braids were painless and lasted all weekend. They really took their time to make sure my braids came out flawless. I will definitely be back!

Avoid coming here… hidden cost that they won’t tell you about until they’re halfway done with your hair giving you no option but to pay. There are better braiding shops in Austin. Don’t waist your time or money! Wish I could give them 0 stars. Was quoted one price but somehow ended up paying $60 more then the original price given all because they decided to do another braid size then what I requested. Bad business practices

Avoid this place at all cost!!! I texted the number with the hairstyle I wanted for my daughter & was given a price to only be charged $60 More after they decided to give my daugher a different braid size then I requested claiming it was because of my daughters hair texture but didn’t inform me until they were halfway done with her hair & they also don’t tell you upfront that they charge extra for the braiding hair. BAD BUSINESS practices… some things should be told up front so the customer can have the option of rejecting services beforehand & not when you’re almost finish with service… trust me & AVOID this place!!!! There are better braiding shops around.

Oh my God! For my first trip to Texas, I had the chance to meet these amazing braiders in Austin. So Amazing!!!! My box braids are so cute and glowing. Thank you Texas Braiding Star and especially the owner Me-me, such a wonderful woman. You made me ready for the summer. I will surely be back😍
