I never leave reviews, good or bad, but I had to leave one for Alex. She was LITERALLY AMAZING. Zero judgement, could read that I was anxious and kept making sure I was good to go. I have not had a hair cut in almost 10 years after a series of bad ones when I was younger. I am absolutely so grateful that I chose Alex to do the honors. I came in just wanting to cut off some dead ends, too scared to make a change, and I left with layers, a few inches off, and my curls look healthier than they have in so long. After one appointment, I am confident I will be loyal to Alex for a long time.

Such a vibe. Great, that is. I love coming here. It’s chill and you can just relax. My stylist is Katie and she’s the best. She does everything well, lots of advanced training and experience, but I love how she cuts mens long hair. She has a great sense of style and I feel like she considers your whole look when approaching your hair. She’s the best. Just a great experience. Thanks Bevy and Katie!

I am so glad that I found Alex at The Bevy! She was absolutely amazing and I plan to keep coming back! Before finding Alex, I have always been a person who is very particular about who I let touch my hair. I have lived in Chicago for almost 6 years and for that entire time I would simply let my hair grow until it got out of control and then I would drive all the way to Michigan to take care of it because I did not want to deal with the hassle of finding a new stylist I could trust in the city, especially when there was a chance I would try out someone new only to be disappointed. I finally decided I wanted to take my hair seriously and that meant finding a stylist. I wanted to make sure my new stylist would be queer friendly, within walking distance, and make me feel comfortable and taken care of since I had never put the time and effort into my hair that I truly wanted to. That is when I found Alex and she has been amazing! She gave me an amazing hair cut and bleached my hair for the first time ever. She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed, and was the perfect amount of talkative throughout the whole process. Afterwards I felt so hot and confident and Alex also hyped me up making me feel even better. I am so glad I found Alex and beyond grateful that the first stylist I decided to see in Chicago felt like a great match for me!

Rob gave me a wonderful haircut. He was personable, funny and happy. I have received many compliments since my visit. The color looks better when you have the right cut! Go to Rob and he’ll take good care of you.

Came to The Bevy 1st for hair color with Araceli, and loved how she turned my messy colored hair into a gorgeous-looking healthy hair. Recently, I get the chance to get my haircut with Jo and loved how it turned out too. I just put my trust with the stylist. I believe it does not matter which stylist or colorist, everyone in Bevy are very well-experienced and trained.

I’ve learned over the years if you find a great stylist, stick with them. Rob is the only person I trust in this world(!) to cut my hair. The Bevy Salon is great welcoming and chill atmosphere.

Jo crimped my hair for an event. The salon is adorable, clean, and comfortable with a fully stocked mini fridge to make your experience a treat rather than something you have to get done. Saw an equal number of men and women visiting the salon and stylists seemed to have a good rapport/relationships with the customers. Jo was fairly priced for the service and worked with my ideas to achieve the 89s look I was going for.

Fantastic services, tidy and welcoming space, and a crew teeming with strong femme professionals. I had been dedicated to one salon for 20 years, so selecting a new stylist/salon was not easy, but Jo (in particular) made it easy! She took her time getting to know my tresses, listened to my needs/routine while exercising artistic license with my cut. So relieved to have found a new joint and I can't wait to go back!

Katie is outstanding, and I believe I've been sitting in her chair for 7 years now (wow!). I had previously spent most of my life dreading haircuts, getting butchered at the cheap places, and then I found someone who is just absolutely the best. There is such value in walking away with a good cut, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who does it better in these parts. It's hard for me to look at pics of my dome PK (pre-Katie), because let's face it - the cuts weren't cuttin' it. The Bevy is a nice, clean space with non-stop good vibes and hot tunes. Perhaps I'm a boring person, but it's a highlight of my month to step into "The Bev." Highly recommend, 6 out of 5 shears.

Super dope place to get your haircut! I’ve been going to my barber Katie for years and was stoked when I heard she was moving here. Every haircut I’ve ever gotten from Katie has been a 10/10 and she is a great person to boot. She is very knowledgeable about her craft and will work with you as she goes every time you want to try something new or stick with your standard. Highly recommend her for any dude looking to come here. Every stylist here is independent so you’re supporting a collective of professional stylists who have worked their butt’s off to get where they are. The space is very clean and professional but super laid back and relaxing. Definitely book here for whatever your hair needs may be.
